Curate videos in your Learning Management System (LMS) in Learning

Last updated: 1 year ago

As a full admin or sub-admin with permissions to “Curate Content” you can curate videos in your Learning Management System (LMS) or Learning Experience Platform (LXP). This functionality allows you to select LinkedIn Learning videos to share with your LMS/LXP to promote bite-sized learning that aligns with your organizational objectives.

Important to know

The account must have a LinkedIn Learning REST API application in Settings whose key is set to “content”. (See Learn more section below to see more detail on Learning APIs.)

Share Videos

You can share single videos in these ways via the admin experience:

Search for Content, filter by Video:

  1. Click More.
  2. Select dropdown option Share with my LMS/LXP.

Within a Video

  1. Go to the Table of Contents.
  2. Click More.
  3. Select dropdown option Share with my LMS/LXP.

Sharing a video will be shared to all LMS partners leveraging the LinkedIn Learning API. You cannot curate different videos with different LMS partners. (See Learn more section below to see more detail on Learning APIs.)

Important to know

Currently the only way to share all videos is to manually select each video.

Unshare videos

You can stop sharing videos in these ways via the admin experience:

Within Content > “LMS/LXP Video Content”

  • Select “Stop sharing” for each individual video.

Search for Content, filter by Video:

  1. Click More.
  2. Select dropdown option Share with my LMS/LXP.

Within a Video

  1. Go to the Table of Contents.
  2. Click More.
  3. Select dropdown option Stop sharing with my LMS/LXP.

Important to know

Currently the only way to remove all videos is to manually remove each video.

Check with your LMS

To confirm videos are being shared with your LMS, you can check:

  • ...if the video is present within the LMS/LXP Video content tab.
  • ...if the Stop sharing with your LMS button appears when you click More from a specific video or within the video experience.

Important to know

If videos are not showing up in your LMS after you share them, please check with your LMS partner if they are supporting LinkedIn Learning API’s video curation functionality. If they support the API video curation, check with your LMS partner about how often they pull content from the LinkedIn Learning API. Until the sync happens, shared content will not be reflected in the LMS.

The learner experience

When a learner clicks on a video within their LMS they will be taken to the video on the web, depending on the account settings, if the learner has enabled SSO (Single Sign On), they will have to login in before proceeding to watch the video.

The course will continue playing after the video is completed.

The learner may not see the video right away, as sharing and removal of videos is dependent on how the LMS provider pulls content from the LinkedIn Learning API. (See Learn more section below.)
