BOR HR Generalist III at South Dakota State University
The Construction & Concrete Industry Management (CCIM) Department in the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering (COE) at South Dakota State University (SDSU) invites applications for a Professional Academic Advisor. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12 month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Professional Advisor will provide comprehensive academic advising and student support for undergraduate students in the department. This position ensures students receive timely guidance on academic planning, degree requirements, and career preparation while also supporting orientation and retention initiatives. The advisor will enhance the overall student experience and help the department manage growing enrollment and advising demands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned bachelor’s degree by start date.
Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in education, engineering, or a related field
Experience in academic advising
Knowledge of student success and development strategies
