⚽🎸 Opportunity in action at Scarborough Elementary! Thanks to support from Chevron Houston and the Houston ISD Foundation, students at Scarborough Elementary are gaining equitable access to soccer and guitar programs—opening doors to both athletic and artistic growth. This Opportunity Fund project is already making waves. Interest exceeded expectations, with 80 students trying out for the soccer team, demonstrating just how eager students are for meaningful extracurricular opportunities. Since funding was awarded, the school has launched program announcements, identified coaches, hosted multiple tryout days, and begun preparing uniforms—all while ensuring participation is tied to strong academics and attendance. By investing in programs that build teamwork, creativity, confidence, and resilience, we’re helping students thrive both inside and outside the classroom—and removing barriers that too often limit access. We’re proud to partner with Chevron to expand opportunity and empower students to discover their talents. #OpportunityFund #HoustonISDFoundation #ChevronHouston

Sometimes you don’t have to travel too far to learn a lot. A great example was my recent visit to our Pasadena Refinery and Galena Park Terminal. Quite literally, these operations are just a few miles from our headquarters building and yet their impact is felt across the country. The Pasadena Refinery was completed in 1919. During WWII, the refinery manufactured high-efficiency, 100-octane aviation gasoline for our air force. Chevron acquired the refinery in 2019. It’s now a key connector in the Chevron Gulf Coast value chain, taking Permian crude from here in Texas, refining it and producing key products that help supply Chevron- and Texaco-branded retail stations across the Southeast. Then just two more miles down the road is our Galena Park Terminal, which supplies an annual average of 357 million gallons of products including gasoline (90 percent) and diesel (10 percent) to customers across the country.   The terminal began operation in 1962 and is the only terminal in the U.S. East with the capacity to sell B20 (20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent traditional diesel.) How cool that the fuel produced here in Texas makes its way all the way to New York and the country’s northeast to heat homes and fuel motorists through the Colonial pipeline.

January 11th marked one of my favorite traditions of the year in Houston — the annual Chevron Houston Marathon. I ran the aramco Half Marathon again this year, continuing something that began during the pandemic. I’m grateful to a great friend and mentor — and now a Chevron “corporate graduate,” as Barbara Burger styles herself — who welcomed me when I transferred back to Houston in 2020 and nudged me back into running, among many other efforts around town. Over time, the Houston Half has become something more enduring for me: a reminder of the value of consistency — showing up month after month, year after year — and trusting progress (or sometimes just maintenance!) built over time. This year, the miles weren’t just for me. I found myself running with a lot of people in mind: family, close friends, colleagues, and others who are part of a shared journey. That quiet sense of purpose has a way of carrying you forward when the course gets long. The Marathon continues to be a truly world-class event, made possible by thousands of runners, volunteers, and spectators from across the Houston community and beyond. Through Chevron’s long-standing role as title sponsor, the Run for a Reason Charity Challenge has supported hundreds of local organizations — an impact brought to life each year by Chevron Houston employees, our fabulous Corporate Affairs team, and others who run, volunteer, and support from the sidelines. I’m grateful to be part of it — as a runner, a Chevron employee, and a Houstonian — and thankful for the people who make these traditions meaningful year after year. #ChevronHoustonMarathon #AramcoHalf #Houston #RunForAReason #HumanEnergy

What an incredible showing at the aramco Houston Half Marathon! 🏃♂️🌍 Sunday delivered a thrilling, record-setting performance as Habtom Samuel of Eritrea captured the men’s title in a remarkable 59:01, setting a new course record for the 13.1-mile race. On the women’s side, Fentaye Belayneh of Ethiopia claimed victory with an impressive 1:04:49 — highlighting the truly global caliber of this event. It was also a very special opportunity to spend time with the parents of Formula 1 Aston Martin driver Jack Crawford, who took part in the Half Marathon — and to enjoy a wonderful visit with Mayor Whitmire of Houston, sharing open dialogue and even a few fun laughs along the way. With athletes from around the world competing in the heart of Houston, the Half Marathon once again showcased the power of sport to unite cultures, countries, and communities. Thank you to Aramco, proud sponsor of the Houston Half Marathon, for delivering such an impactful and meaningful event that brings the world together right here in our city. Coming off a pretty high stakes week culminating in a big meeting at the White House, the last thing most people would want to do is run a marathon. But I did and finishing the Chevron Houston Marathon today took on a whole new meaning for me. After all the long nights leading up to the race, I decided I wasn't going to set a new personal record. I was just going to enjoy the run and finish strong which in many ways is a great way to approach life and a rewarding career.    David Moyer - our Deputy General Counsel - ran by my side. And actually, in a great career, you learn you can do anything with a great lawyer by your side. The best moment of the race was Greg waiting at the end to give me a finish line kiss. And that's another important lesson about being able to do anything with the love and support of a great life partner.   I’ve crossed many marathon finish lines, but this weekend was truly special because it meant more than another medal since I decided it would be my last marathon. And whether it's your first or your last - I learned there's no better one to run than the Chevron Houston one.    Chevron’s marathon theme this year was ‘That Houston Energy,’ which was such a perfect way to describe our hometown with almost 40,000 other race participants from all 50 states and more than 50 other countries, with over 250,000 cheering while the magic happens.    For 54 years, the Chevron Houston Marathon has brought people together and for 21 years, we've been the proud title sponsor. We've also supported the Run for a Reason program, which has raised more than $41 million since 1995 for local nonprofits.   I’m grateful for the chance to experience firsthand what makes this marathon so special. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success, including the 7,000 volunteers—200 of them from our own Houston employees, and the 900 first responders on-site who ensured our safety.   I’d love to hear from other runners. What’s your favorite Houston Marathon memory—or your go-to motivation for crossing the finish line? Share your thoughts below!   #chevronhoustonmarathon #thatHoustonenergy #weloveHOU

The Chevron Houston Marathon was thrilling and inspirational as ever 🌟and our Chevron hosts and their guests were spectacular 🌟 Thank you for your TxEDC support and leadership 🌟 (Yes, I needed the big, furry hat - it was cold😂)

TxEDC hosted potential investors and sponsors at the Chevron Houston Marathon thanks to an invitation from the main and title sponsor and proud TxEDC investor, Chevron!   We were honored to be invited by Chevron to attend this incredible event celebrating endurance, teamwork, and determination. Representing TxEDC were Dr. Valerie G. Segovia, Vice President of Investor Relations, and Brizel A. Bueso, TxEDC Events Planner.   The day included the opportunity to hear directly from Bruce Niemeyer, President of Chevron Americas Exploration & Production, during a breakfast held alongside race festivities. This was an inspiring conversation set against the energy and momentum of marathon day.   We were also glad to connect with key leaders: Margaret Cooper, Chevron | Nicole Barber, Chevron | Moncef Attia, Scotiabank | David Flores, Flores Investments LLC | Sonia Soto, Office of Council Member Twila Carter | Frances Castandea Dyess, Houston East End Chamber of Commerce | Stephen Demerson, Southwest Airlines | Marco Bueso, athenahealth | Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood, P.E., R.A., Cushing Terrell | Linda Brown, Austin Fit   A huge Texas-sized thank you to Nathan Calvert, Chevron's Public & Governmental Affairs Advisor, for the seamless logistics and to the entire Chevron team for the generous invitation!   An unforgettable experience and a great example of the partnerships that keep Texas moving forward.
