About Mardi

I’m Mardi - founder of The Nail Studio, a boutique, home-based nail studio built on experience, precision, and a deep respect for nail health.

Born in Melbourne and now proudly based in Auckland, my journey into the beauty industry began over three decades ago. I qualified as a beauty therapist in my early twenties, then followed curiosity and adventure overseas, living and travelling through Europe, Africa, and the Middle East before eventually making New Zealand home.

In 1994, I opened my first beauty and wellness business. From day one, I was drawn to the detail - the craft behind great service, the importance of technique, and the responsibility we hold when working on someone’s body. Over the years, I expanded my qualifications across beauty, massage, and holistic therapies, developing a strong foundation in how the body functions as a whole.

That understanding is what now defines my approach to nails.

At The Nail Studio, I specialise in premium gel and nail services using carefully selected professional systems, applied with intention and restraint. I place strong emphasis on correct preparation, system integrity, proper curing, and long-term nail health - not trends, shortcuts, or one-size-fits-all services.

I believe beautiful nails should never come at the expense of the natural nail.

My background in nutrition and health coaching informs how I work, but quietly  through education, transparency, and a respect for the body’s signals. Nails often reflect what’s happening beneath the surface, and my role is to support them thoughtfully, safely, and with care.

The Nail Studio is intentionally small and personal. Every appointment is unrushed, tailored, and grounded in trust. I want you to know what’s being used on your nails, why it’s chosen, and how to care for them between visits.
