In this video I’m going to demonstrate three different positions for core activation. Core activation is great to know how to do even if you haven’t had kids! Breathing properly and knowing how to engage your core will help with flattening your tummy, strengthening your muscles, helping to prevent injury, AND help to CLOSE THE GAP caused from ab separation!

When performing these exercises don’t get discouraged if you don’t “get it” the first time. Like most things, it takes practice! 

Inhale, letting your belly fill with air WITHOUT forcing it out. On the exhale, bring your belly button in towards your spine. It’s as if you’re flexing your abs and bracing to get hit in the stomach. Once your core is activated you should still be able to breathe normally.
