2 Main pump structure and control principle
2.2 Principle of main pump

The hydraulic pump mainly consists of

variable plunger and variable mechanism.
Pump variable mechanism mainly consists
of flow control valve, pressure cut-off valve,
power control valve (torque limit valve)
and variable cylinder. The pump variable is
realized by changing the angle of the
variable cylinder. The higher of the
variable cylinder pressure, the smaller of
the swing angle of the inclined plate, the
smaller of the pump flow rate. The oil
pressure of the variable cylinder is
controlled by power control valve, cut-off
valve and flow control valve.
2 Main pump structure and control principle
2.3 Constant power valve

The constant power control valve (torque

limiting valve) detects main pump outlet
pressure, with system pressure rise, main pump
outlet pressure up to relief valve setting pressure
(adjust pressure), power on both ends of the
valve differential pressure begins to enter the
constant power control, by assigning the power
control valve into the variable cylinder, the
higher of oil pressure, the smaller of pump flow,
to achieve constant power control.

2.4 Pressure cut-off valve

Pressure cut-off valve left side

detects pump outlest pressure
close to setting pressure (32MPa),
to overcome spring force, push
pool to the right, enter
displacement plunger on the right
side, pump rate reduced.

3. Main valve structure and control principle
3.7 Failure maybe caused by the failure of main parts of main valve
• Failure of part valve of multi-way valve may cause system failure:
• 1. Main safety valve: valve core hairpin, wear, and spring becomes soft, will
cause the entire system weakness.
• 2. Second relief valve: if secondary relief valve failure, it will cause the
corresponding cylinder action weakness, or appear the arm off phenomenon.
• 3. Compensation pressure unloading valve: such as the damping valve core
hole is blocked, excavator start up with load (no-load LS pressure display);
if the valve core is stuck in the open position, the system is weakness, and
slow speed.
• 4. The median unloading valve: if the valve core is stuck in the open
position, the system pressure is low, slow work, even lead to that pilot
pressure is low.
• 5. Pressure compensation valve: if a pressure compensation valve can not be
opened, the corresponding work actuator (cylinder or motor) can not move
or slow speed.
