We look on bewildered at a world moved on
Only the pester of conscious thought keeps time
Like water running through the cracks

It is not a matter of getting rid of ego. That is egotism. That is one thought trying to get rid of another. Enlightenment is the simple knowledge that this ego does not exist, other than as a thought, and that everything this organism is doing is not being done by me.
