, you need to enroll as an Asset Store publisher:

  1. Sign in to the Publisher Portal.
  2. Go to the Enrollment page.
  3. Select your Unity organization.
  4. Follow the instructions to provide and verify the following information:
    • Account type: Individual or organization.
    • Personal information: Legal name and country of residence.
    • Organization information (if applicable): Company address, registered and active company domain, DUNS number.

Unity usually takes five to seven business days to respond to your enrollment request. If your application is successful, your admittance status changes to Active and the UPM Publisher Portal appears in the navigation panel.

For Unity to accept your enrollment application, you need to verify the following credentials:

Verify your identity

Unity uses Persona’s identity verification process to confirm that the person enrolling in the UPM Publisher Program is a real individual with the legal authority to act on behalf of the account.

To complete this process, you need the following:

  • A cameraA component which creates an image of a particular viewpoint in your scene. The output is either drawn to the screen or captured as a texture. More info

    attached to your device.
  • Government-issued ID that displays your face.

Your ID and face data are not displayed publicly. Your verification data is secured with Persona and only used for verification purposes. Your data is handled according to Persona’s privacy policies.

If you need help to verify your identity, submit a support request.

Verify an organization

A DUNS Number (Data Universal Numbering System) is a unique nine‑digit identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). Unity uses this number to verify the identity and legal existence of one of the following organization types:

  • A company or organization
  • A nonprofit organization
  • An educational institution
  • A government organization

To create a DUNS number or find an existing DUNS number, go to the Dun & Bradstreet website.

Verify your domain

Your publisher namespace is a unique identifier reserved for your use in the UPM registry. Publisher namespaces are verified using reverse domain notation. Unity reserves a publisher namespace for all your Asset Store publications by verifying that you have control of the domain. This helps prevent fraudulent activity, like domain impersonation.

The way you verify a publisher namespace depends on your organisation type.

Verify an individual publisher namespace

Verify an individual publisher account in one of the following ways:

  • Enter the legal name that you verified with Persona.
  • Enter a domain name and verify your DNS records.

Verify an organization publisher namespace

To verify an organization publisher namespace, you can use the website domain linked to your DUNS number. If you want to use a namespace different from your DUNS records, you can provide a separate domain name and use its DNS records for verification.
