What Would Jesus Do?

The question itself is a hint at something a lot of people have never dared to think of. Choices make us who we are more than anything else. And if we posses the ability to choose what Jesus(/Buddha/any other religious figurehead) would do in a given situation, we already have them within us.

In other words, by choosing the godly way to act, we become more god like ourselves. This is true for any type of behavior. If a person went around with a, "What would a thief do?" mind set, they would take on the attributes of a thief. If a person went around with a, "What would a scholar do?" mind set, they would take on the attributes of a scholar. And so on.

They say that man was made in the image of God. But it can't be denied that the image of God was made by man. No matter how you look at it, what we think of God had to be observed and interpreted by people. Therefore all images and ideas of God are man made.

To take it even further, God and man are one. The perception and sense of God that man has is but a reflection of himself. When he asks himself, "What would Jesus do?", he is literally speaking to his God-self consciousness. Whatever his impression of God's teachings is, he will act on that.

Appreciate the fact that your Higher Intelligence is always with you. It will continue to grow and guide you as you give it more attention.

Made In His Image

They say that God made man in his image. I agree with this saying, but at the same time, the reverse is also true. Turning the saying around is actually more of our everyday experience. 'Man made God in his image.' I know that for some people, this may sound blasphemous, but take a good look to realize how it is not.

'God' is a concept or idea to most of mankind. For most people, He is a concept that we learned about as a child and continued to carry with us. Just as any other concept, it does not exist in the universe outside of the minds of humanity. Just as the concept of beauty is in the eye of the beholder , so is the concept of God. If God is simply a concept to most people, and man formulated this concept, then it stands to reason that man made God in his own image.

Throughout the history of the concept of God, what was thought to be God has changed many times. There are many faiths and cultures that have thought of not a single God but many gods, all with different traits. Many of the descriptions of God are of a being who takes on the personality of a man and not of a benevolent being of love. Even now, there are writings of a "jealous" God who would not like to see anything else besides Himself worshiped. This concept of a God punishes those who have gone against His wishes. He will even damn a soul to hell for eternity.

God is not a person. If he is a person, then he is every person. He is neither male nor female, and both, at the same time. God is the universe, just as you are all the cells in your body. There is nothing that exists that is not of this Universal Intelligence. This Consciousness is the force that expresses itself as the laws of nature and reality.

I do not want you to take my word on any of this. Most people will believe this to be my personal opinion. That is fine. What I do want from you is to be totally objective in what you have been taught or told to believe. What I have stated here is not a belief of mine, but my personal experience. I invite you to experience it yourself.

"Good" Is God

Since my shift in perspective, I often find the meanings behind words that are often overlooked. I feel that I can many times get a good idea of exactly how a word came to be coined and the significance behind it. One such word that I continuously observe is the word "good".

As stated in a previous post entitled, "It's All Good Intention - It's All God Intention", it's no coincidence that 'good' is 'God' with an extra 'o'. It can also be looked at as 'God' is 'good' minus an 'o'. However you choose to see it or which ever word was coined first, it makes no difference. The point is the correlation of the two words.

I find it funny (to the point of entertainment almost) how synonymous these two words can be. I have made it an occasional practice to switch the two words in my head whenever I come across them. It really is amazing to see how interchangeable they are. At the same time, it seems only natural that they are.

A few examples:
  • I see the [good/God] in you.
  • [Good/God] morning to you.
  • Share the [good/God] feelings.
You get the point. Try observing this your self. Along with what was stated in the previous post (It's All Good Intention - It's All God Intention), you may gain a new insight on What Is Really Good.

Stay tuned!
