JuJu Hat...

What is that you ask? I didn't know either until last week when I posted the Sunny Side and one of the readers said she love it over the fireplace and another asked what it was. I didn't know so I looked it up and thanks to Google and Google images I found out what they were and that they are popular design accessories that add a whimsical pop of color to any home. What do you think...do you like them or not?

Cameroonian JuJu Hats
During royal court affairs, tribal chiefs and dignitaries in the Cameroonian kingdoms wear a spectacular headdress known as the tyn, or juju hat. The feathers are symbolic of prosperity, and represent the wealth of positive qualities associated with birds. The pieces, which are woven onto a raffia base, splay out into huge circles and make impactuful wall art.

Classic Remix...

When flipping through Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles I was thrilled to see my dear friend, and artist, Courtney J. Garrett featured artwork over the fireplace in the home designed by Barbara Howard. I love the twist in a traditional space, like the zigzag print on a classic settee, and mixing causal items with more tailored pieces.

Whitewall & Co...

Why wallpaper when you can do this? I love the look of an accent wall, but have never wanted to take the plug of wallpapering, mainly because I didn't want to hassle with the paper and glue and because if I did make a mistake, it could be quite a mess. I found a solution through Whitewall & Co.. Whitewall & Co. produces large scale stencils to resemble wallpaper, wainscot, and borders {as seen in the Southern Living idea house}. Their website shows you all the designs available with an interactive color palette, to show you what your desired result will be. They also provide the step-by-step instructions. You can purchase a design today and have a whole new room within a week. They are trying to change the way you look at your walls, by turning them into art themselves!

Mapped Out...

I am helping a guy friend makeover a room in his house. He is in real need
of artwork for his room and loves the outdoors, so we decided that maps
would be perfect. Now we just have to find some.

Recover & Reassign...

T.O.M.T.™ is taking 'repurpose' and 'redesign' to a whole new level. T.O.M.T.™ is the best friend for trashed or forgotten objects and anything else you might throw away or overlook in your garages, pantries, and other storage spaces. They find objects considered too “difficult” to recycle, and with their mission to recover and reassign the purpose of these objects, the endeavor of refitting the planet™ is underway. The key to saving these forgotten objects is just keeping their eyes open and being open and ready to spot what they like to call “objects of desire”. Be sure to check out the site, because they have too many great and interesting things to post; like a hubcap bowl, a Hoover floor lamp, luggage end tables, a toaster lamp, a shovel desk, a plumbing dining table, and so much more.
