The Awesome Site Award

I have not been logging on to my humble blog for quite some time now. Oh wait... it has been almost 2 months! Oh dear! That's already 2 months wasted for not recording some interesting/ boring things happening in my life. I blame it on my hectic working lifestyle and my lack of appreciation on having my own space to do my own things. It has been all about typing on my work laptop keyboard and staring at the laptop screen until late at night since I resume my work after taking a 2 weeks holiday during Christmas time last year. It seems like the 2 weeks off has earned me an additional 2 months of overloaded work. Whereas there are some people happily enjoying yet another holiday - New Year, Chinese New Year, and another few other holidays in between for the past 2 months. Where is the fairness in this?

Ops! Sorry, I have been grumbling and talking crap in this blog entry almost unnoticed that I am actually off topic on this blog title "The Awesome Site Award". I am really happy to have received this award from Jo-N who gave it to me not too long ago. Sorry, for being MIA (missing in action) for quite some time and did not respond to this soonest possible. Thank you for remembering me and presented me with this award. It was really sweet of you and it meant alot to me.

Now I would like to present this award to the following deserving real and blogging friends:

A Bookworm's Tag

This tag is very suitable for me. I can be considered as a bookworm back when I was a kid through out my teenage years. I usually finished up a book with 300+ pages in 2-3 days. Had done it in 24hrs too. But that was only just for non-fiction books. Too bad, I do not fancy school books or else I could have been a straight A student. Haha.... I sometimes likes to read History, Geography, Biographies & Memories, Science and Mystery of the world books. Used to have a set of Encyclopedia books for kids which I read them all. Thanks to Martini for pass this tag to me.

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
Yes, it was when my mom bought me all those fairy-tale stories when I was a small kid. I love looking at the colourful illustrations and reading the stories on it.

What are some books you read as a child?
I remember those are very simple story books on The Three Little Pigs, Repunzzle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, and some others I can't remember now. When I was in primary school, I was exposed to Enid Blyton, Fear Street series by R.L Stine, True Singapore Ghost Stories and books by Christopher Pike.

What is your favourite genre?
Horror, Mystery and Romance.

Do you have a favourite novel?
Oh there are so many of them. When I was a child, I love Fear Street series by R.L Stine and Christopher Pike, obiviously. I still likes them but I do not read them now due to age factor (LOL!!). Now my favourite are those books from Virginia Andrews (V.C Andrews), Danielle Steel, Sidney Sheldon, Stephen King and Nora Roberts.

Where do you usually read?
On the bed or the couch in the living room.

When do you usually read?
During my free time - morning, noon or night.

Do you usually have more than one book you are reading at a time?
No. I like to finish one book before moving on the next one.

Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction?
No.

Do you buy most of the books you read, or borrow them, or check them out of the library?
I bought some but mostly borrow them from friends, family or from "rent-a-book" store.

Do you keep most of the books you buy? If not, what do you do with them?
Definitely keep them. Unless those which I do not like, they somehow lost from my storage which I have no idea where they went.

If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them? Were they some of the same ones you read as a child?
I do not have children as I am not married yet.

What are you reading now?
Birthright by Nora Roberts. Been staying at the same page since few months back due to my hectic work life and my blogging interest has taken over what's left of my free time.

Do you keep a TBR (to be read) list?
Used to have that list when I was schooling. But not anymore since I join the working world.

What’s next?
Finish up the book entitle Birthright by Nora Roberts, which I have started months ago.

What books would you like to reread?
Can't name one at the moment.

Who are your favourite authors?
Read above (I have already listed them above).

I would like to pass this tag to Stubborn-Daydreamer and Catherine

Six Word Memoir

This tag pass down to me from my very good friend, has been sitting on my "To Do" list for the past 5 days. It's hard to do because I am a girl with very few moto in life which is the normal "Have good principle in live and stick to it", "Honesty is the best policy", "Do not do unto others what you would not want others do unto you", "Love your enemy as yourself", "Forgive and forget", etc... etc... And to come out with something with just six word in it? Oh dear, it was quite a challenge for me because of having the intention to make it meaningful and at the same time wanted to express the important essence that I want to convey.

So.... here's what I have come up with on this "Six Word Memoir".

Always belive that love conquers everything

Why love could always conqures everything?

  • Because God love us, he gave us salvation through His one and only son who die on the cross for our sins.

  • Because of love, Jesus forgives and cleanses our sins so that we do not have to suffer the wages of sin which is death.

  • Because of love, Jesus conqures death when He resurected on the 3rd day, which now whoever belives in Him, will not perish but have eternal life.

  • Because of love (even one tiny little bit of it), we do not end up killing one another or stop us from becoming a complete idiot.

  • Because of love, a parent can conqure their fear of death to protect their children from threatening situation such as earth quake, car accidents, fire, etc.

  • Because of love, a couple can go through many unimaginable hardship in the relationship and still be together as long as they shall live.

There are still many things that love could do and make a big change in our life. There are too many to list them all here. If we really open our eyes and see with our heart, you may be surprise to learn how every hardships, discomforts, and sufferings in live could be conqured by just a little touch of love to it.

***Rules***
1.) Write your own six word memoir.
2.) Post it on your blog; include a visual illustration if you'd like.
3.) Link to the person that tagged you in your post, and to the original post if possible.
4.) Tag at least five more blogs with links.
5.) Leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

I would like to pass this down to Catherine and Dina.

My Most Embarrassing Moment

I was commenting on one of Tot’s Mom’s blog post the other day and I suddenly thought of writing a post about it on my own blog since I was blatantly talking about my own experience on my comments there. It is about one of my most embarrassing moment. Then I think it’s good to make out another tag using this real life story that I am about to share. Hence making this to be my second time creating a tag after my first one quite some time ago.

My most embarrassing moment…. Here it goes….

My boyfriend, Aldrin is the youngest in his family of 5 siblings. His mom gave birth to him around age 40 years old. So, by the time I met him, his mom were in her 60’s. I thought quietly to myself that she was my boyfriend’s grandmother before he introduces her to me as his mom. I was a little surprised as she looks about the same age as my grandma. As I was still getting used to the new relationship with him in the beginning, there was a time I was at his house and we were chatting. I can’t remember exactly what we chatted about but I remember the following conversation….

Me: Tell your grandma......

(Before I finish my sentence.....)

Aldrin: Huh? What did you just called my mom?

Me: Huh? I was just saying tell your mom........

(And I pretended that I didn’t just address his mom as his grandma hoping that he believe he had heard it wrongly instead)

As early impression was important and that happened during the early days of my relationship with Aldrin, it was really embarrassing for me. I’m not sure if he still remembered it but it was funny when I think of it.

!~~~~ Start copying here and add in yours. ~~~~!
!~~~Then pass the tag along to someone else ~~~!

My most embarrassing moment at:

Faith, hope, love but the greatest is love blog.

I would like to pass this tag to Lemonjude, Tot’s mom, Sting, Firethorn and Stubborn-Daydreamer. Anyone else interested to do this tag, you are most welcome to do it by not removing the contents in between the "Start copy.... and End copy line.

New Year Resolution Tag

I have read quite a number of bloggers did this tag on their blog and wondered whether it will be pass down to me sooner or later. And now this tag has travell down to me from Lemonjude. So, writing this tag is not that hard as I have already prepared my answers. Scroll down to see mine!

*Start Copy Here*
When it comes to New Year’s Resolutions we seem to fall into four categories: 1) quite serious about them, 2) be flippant about them, 3) do it because we feel pressured to, or 4) do not do them.

So, the purpose of this little game is to let us know which category you are in. Copy from “*Start Copy Here*” through “*End Copy Here*” and post it. Before “*End Copy Here*” tell us who you are, your site(s) (with link) and your New Year’s Resolution, or not.

Then tag as many others as you like, from one to your entire blogroll, your choice. If you like, create an intro paragraph to your post that also acknowledges who tagged you.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS:
Juliana – Juliana’s Site - My New Year’s resolutions are looking for a part time job, keep blogging, and learn to cook and bake.

Michelle - Rusin Roundup - 1. Learn to be happier and accept myself for who I am, 2. Is to lose about 25 lbs., and 3. Is to stop smoking.

Karen - Grow Rich Along With Me - My resolution for next year is to achieve $3K per month passive income by the end of 2008.

Mel - Attitude, the Ultimate Power & Complain Complain Complain - “I don’t need no stinking resolutions.” I never hold to them anyway so why frustrate myself by starting them now.

Sandee - Comedy Plus - I don’t need no stinking resolutions either. Years and years ago I did them because everyone else did, but not once did I follow through. Why set yourself up for failure?

Lynda - lynda’s loft - My resolution is to see resolve to that which needs resolution. Like Mel and Sandee, I feel that resolutions give us more stress, however, being a person who sets goals each year, isn’t that the same thing as a resolution??? Goals vs. resolutions? Goals are more general and allow for more time to complete them, a resolution requires a mind-set and immediate action, which is not always feasible… Well, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it…

Amelia - Amel’s Realm - This is a list of my New Year’s Resolution:1. Health: Continue exercising twice a week, eat enough veggies and fruit, have enough rest, take vitamin C regularly and women’s multivitamin during my period.2. Spiritual: Improve my Daily Bread reading routine and my prayer life and learn more from God’s Word.3. Financial: Continue to make money online (my goal is getting €100 per month at least), be more creative in writing posts, and save most of the money.4. General Life: Continue to learn Finnish AND practice it as best and often as I can, try out more baking and cooking recipes, continue to maintain and share positive thoughts, continue to learn to control my thoughts, continue to learn to catch myself before I start complaining and count my blessings instead, continue to stop and cherish all the little moments in life that oftentimes go unnoticed, and continue to feed my inner child and last but not least, continue to ENJOY my life thoroughly.

Trinity - Rooms of My Heart : My New Year’s resolutions in simple and fast way will be blog less and spend more time with my children and read more good books. I want to start studying about global warming and blog it…

Max - MAX - My New Year’s resolutions are to dedicate more time to my friends; to finally be able to read “Der Spiegel” in German; to be calm when organizing my marriage; to go one last time to my favourite club and dance the night away; and continue to be happy!

Eric - Speedcat Hollydale - I love chicken. Problem is that I really never get to have enough chicken! My New Year’s resolution is to enact “Chicken Tuesday”. On this day I will eat only chicken, blog about chicken, and promote chickens all over the world. (hormone free) Join me, won’t you?

Marzie - Mariuca & Mariuca’s Perfume Gallery - My resolution for 2008 is to enjoy a healthier lifestyle and to expand my Perfume Collection.

Sindi- Life Is A Roller Coaster - My resolution is to complain less, pray more and be a little more thankful for what I have.

Judy - Sugar Queen’s Dream - My New Year’s resolution is:To take better care of my health. To eat better, well at least 3 meals a day, I’m lucky these days if I stop for one meal a day….To help make the world a better place to live, I love the human race, but think there’s always room for change. To be generous until it hurts. To live each day as if it’s my last.To make a book of our personal family recipes and traditions for each of my 3 my children, so that the traditions and family cooking can be passed on in my family line long after I’m gone and finally…….To help more with the local Human society, Animals like little kids can not fend for themselves so it’s up to each of us to take care of our pets and to step in and care for all animals…..I hope that through me I can encourage my Children to be better adults and in turn to raise the Children they have or will have, to be good people with good, sound & solid values…. Peace!

Adrian - First Time Dad - My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 is to be a better father…now I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions because I never keep them but this one I better keep! Happy New Year to one and all!

Colin - Life - New Years Resolution? No way…Better to achieve more throughout the year rather than pander to the whims of a one day ‘wishful thought’

Mauro - 1 Million Love Messages - My resolution for next year are: 1. Change my job (maybe work online). I’m really unhappy in the actual one. 2. Dedicate more time to my family and girlfriend… maybe start to get ready for our wedding 3. Work hard in 1 Million Love Messages and reach 2500 Love messages (or more) in the end of 2008.

MidgetManOfSteel - Mental Poo - To get out of dealing with people who I have no desire in helping at the job I’m doing…catch the eye of someone who can see that I can write and be funny…and get my own ticket to happiness from my humor….and a Ferrari. While I’m doing this, I resolve to get a Ferrari.

Stacy - My Thoughts - My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 - Is to be more understanding to my children and to other people, Not to curse at others while I am driving, try to eat right and exercise, try to volunteer in my community, and to believe more in my spiritual side.

Jason - DatCurious.com & DatMoney.com - Although, I normally don’t do New Year’s Resolutions (because I find it as an excuse to actually do something I should’ve already been doing), this year I will plan on giving back to the blogging community, especially my audience. I’m not sure how I will do it yet, but I definitely will.

Kesa - Little Aussie Cynic - My New Years Resolution is the standard….. to finally get off the smokes and to loose 8kg…. both which are possible just difficult…..Happy New Year to you and yours….Aussie

Ann - A Nice Place in the Sun - “To let the rest of my life begin as soon as possible.”

Wen - Little Paces - I want to sleep early to reduce my haggard and tired complexion. To blog better than last year and hopefully can save money from paid post so that we can immigrate to Australia. To spend more time with my children. To be able to bake.

Slavemom - Slavery Bliss - I’d like to have better control of my temper, be more organised and maintain my exercise regime.

Lemonjude - Memoirs.:*CRoSs mY hEARt*:. - Spend more time with Terry to teach him what is wrong, what is right, maintain a healthy body and also try to slim down more. Spend more time in prayer and reading Bible. Continue my passion in writing more good stuff in blog.

Amidrin - Faith, Hope, Love. Greatest of these is Love - No newly created new year resolution. Just going to use the same goals as before which I have yet to achieve it.

I am passing this tag to Everlyn and firethorn.

Best memories of 2007

This tag was passed down to me by Sting.

Rules :
1. Copy from "Start Copy" until "End of Copy".

3. Share this tag to your friends.

For me, the year 2007 had a lot of happiness (and hope for 2008). Happiness because i see my son, grow and grow day by day. I have a great husband. I met lots of new friends from around the world via blogging ^_^ - Juliana RW

In 2007, I become happier than before because my hubby’s got promotion and sure his salary had been increased. This had made my life more comfortable but everything seemed to cost an arm and a leg nowadays. The happiest memory is I see Nelson’s tummy becoming bigger and bigger, he can now count number 1 to number 10, by my guidance. He loves eating and he enjoys every meal. He gives us a lot of happiness by the way he mimic our talking style and making such lovely faces. At first, I was so scared to look after him but now I hope he can be with me all the time. Even I feel tired everyday but I feel my life is meaningful. Hazel

Looking back at 2007, it signifies a few milestones of my life.. the major one of course being the birth of baby zen.. awwww... He was absolutely a delight, though there were times when we were so worried he was not getting enough milk.. as he wasn't gaining weight as much as he should. Now, looking at him, we feel that we had done something right in our lifetime to deserve such such a wonderful baby.. Thank you hubby for giving us baby zen :-) sting

This year has been another roller-coaster year for me. The best memories are the time when Aldrin uttered words of promises to me that things would be better this year onwards although until end of the year nothing much has improved. Also the best memories when I first got my pay slip and saw that it was true that I got a 47% salary raised from my lowly unjustified old salary. I am also happy to see my beloved sister happily got married and watching Jojo (my dog) grow up to be an adorable, beautiful and obedient 2 year old ;p - Amidrin
