Hi...

Hi guys!

Apparently I needed to take a bit of a blogging break this past week. Life wasn't any busier than usual but for some reason I had a hard time getting into the crafty room. Happily, I'm feeling rejuvenated now and ready to jump right back into crafting and posting. :)

I guess you could say this card is my way of baby stepping back into everything. These now retired Kettos from Stamping Bella are still a favorite and since Madeline here was so quick to color she was just what I needed to get back into the swing of things. It also helped that she was already stamped and like everything else on this card, was pulled out of the mess on my desk. I even chose to use washi tape instead of pattern paper... shocker! ;)
And I think that sequins may just be my new embellishment love. The only thing that would make me happier is if they came in a few more smaller sizes so that I could really sprinkle 'em like my pearls and gems. But that is just nit picking really, I'm still smitten with them and predict that I'll be using them quite a bit in the near future.

Alrighty then, I'll talk at'cha later!

Colorful Ketto...

Olo!

I've got a crazy day ahead of me so this post is gonna be a quick one. :)

I'm on a roll with continuing to ink up stamps that haven't gotten much lovin'. This one is Charlotte Ketto from Stamping Bella and while a lot of my Kettos have made it onto cards this was Charlotte's first time. The funky mix of prints on her dress inspired my choice of paper because it had its own upbeat mix of prints and colors going on. The embellishing really is just a random mix of odds and ends that had collected on my desk and I wanted to challenge myself to use that giant flower in a cool way. Using it to mat Charlotte and ground the rest of the embellishments seems to do the trick. ;)

Oh and one more thing before I sign off... the CHA show is coming up this weekend and I've been enjoying many different sneak peeks from various companies but I have yet to find any news about possible new Copic colors being added this year. So if any of you fellow avid colorists out there have heard or seen anything please share! I'm really hoping to see a couple color families fleshed out a bit so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, LOL!

Konnichiwa

Hey there!

So I finished reading A Clash of Kings the other day. OMGoodness, this series just keeps getting better and better! There is magic returning to the world my friends and the pace of the story is becoming quite a ride. I'm already 100 pages or so into A Storm of Swords and I'm finding it hard to tear myself away from the pages. I've been getting less sleep but it is so worth it, LOL!

Ok, onto my card... it's a quickie that I pulled together from the Konnichiwa papers that were still lurking around on my desk. I went to my Stamping Bella binder because it's been quite a while since I've colored up one of my Ketto cuties. Now I'm not sure if I've used Wasabi before or not but I'm still counting her as a stamp to cross of my "must ink up soon" list. :)
I think it is a fun match up and since I kind of had a circle motif going on I went ahead and added that sticker with the symbol on it to complete the cascade. I have no idea what it means but I'm hoping that Basic Grey didn't trick me into adding some crazy sentiment like, "Eat more soup" to the card. So if anyone knows what that translates to, please share!

Well, I should get moving. Lots to do, lots to do!

Good thoughts

Hello, hello!

I've got a lot going on today so I'm gonna jump right into the card that I have to share.
Once again I'm back on my "ink up the neglected stamps" campaign and this go-round it was time to flip through my Ketto collection. I'm actually proud to say that there are very few of these cuties who haven't made it on a card or two yet. But I did find Ivy Ketto looking all fresh and clean so out she came and jumped right onto a clear block. In my defense, Ivy was one of the last Kettos that I got, so she hasn't been waiting for too long. ;)

This card also turned out to be one of the rare occasions when I used stamps to set the scene rather than relying on pattern paper. And Ivy is actually stamped twice, once on the background cardstock and then again on some Copic X-Press It, because I knew that there was no way I would be able to cut out all of the skinny vines, arms and pigtails. This way, all I had to fussy cut was the basic outline of her dress, head and legs.

Okey dokey... chat at'cha again in 24! :)

Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and Copic -Press It

Hello!

Good morning friends!

It's Tuesday but I don't think there is a new Glee to look forward to, such a bummer! On the upside, it does free up an hour for crafting this evening. How's that for looking on the bright side of things? LOL ;)

I think I must still be dreaming of spring greens (none here yet... though all of the rain we've been getting should help once the sun decides to shine again) because this card ended up quite different than I had originally intended. I knew that I wanted to play with this cute Agnes Ketto and do a bit of altering to wipe away her big pom-pom pigtails, giving her a short pixie cut instead... love it!

Anywho, once I had that done I figured that I would be digging through all the pink and pretty scraps off my desk to finish off the card. Instead a couple of sticker sheets caught my eye and I had found Agnes' home! I'm pretty sure they were supposed to go with a 'boy' line of paper but I think they work just as well for a spring look with all of the mud puddles and new green leaves filling the trees.

So yep, besides the cardstock base most all of the decorative elements on this card are stickers. As much as I love pretty papers, this was a fun change of pace for me and don't you think Agnes looks like a little wood nymph amongst the trees? Awwwww... :)

Ok, time for me to flitter off and get ready for the day, TTFN! Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and PTI
stamp- Stamping Bella (Agnes Ketto)

One card, two challenges!

TGIF everybody!

I've got a busy one ahead of me so I'm gonna get right to the card...

I started making my card using this week's Flutter By photo inspiration challenge as my jumping off point. I pulled my colors from the blue sky, white clouds and the daisy flowers. Then when I went to search for a stamp, little Anise Ketto was a natural fit with her daisies... talk about a perfect match! :)
The blue skies, white flowers, yellow sunshine and fresh, new, green grass all say spring to me so I am also throwing this into the Magical Monday challenge as well... good thing I used a fairy on this one! Making one card work for two challenges doesn't happen all that often for me, so I'm patting myself on the back for this. LOL!

Ok, I've got to jet... have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Magical Monday on a Friday

Hello friends!

Well, the weather outside is still frightful (ie. covered in snow... blech) but inside it has been quite delightful with all sorts of fun things rockin' my world. Yesterday the 12 BRAND NEW Copic sketch colors arrived in stock at Oozak and I jumped all over that! They weren't due to arrive until March so I was shocked when I got an email notification so early. I've been totally geeking out over some of these new additions because it looks like they will help me better color match to some of my fave papers that have been quite tricky, especially the new blue greens! I've already gotten a shipping notice (LOVE how quick they are) so hopefully I'll have them in my hot little hands by Monday at the latest! It's ok, I admit it... I'm a complete marker nerd! ;)

Then if that wasn't enough excitement, I noticed that ATS is now carrying the Ketto stamps and some of the super cute pixies by Christy Croll from Stamping Bella! I've never seen these available anywhere but at SB before and I jumped on the chance to fill out some of my collection. So if you are here in the States and have wanted some of these cute stamps but the shipping from Canada was holding you up now you've got a whole new place to get your Ketto fix!

And in honor of this news I decided to use lovely little Madeline Ketto on my card today. I also made this for the Magical Monday challenge to use lace on a card. I thought this antiqued looking crochet lace was a nice match to the ever fabulous Stella and Rose papers that I still can't get enough of. I was even inspired by my bloggin' buddy, Lisa, to take some of the crochet lace and create a little flower out of it too... what a cool look!

Alrighty, one last bit of news before I head off to work... for this weekend only, Tickled Pink Stamps is giving away FREE Christmas Frankie digis to celebrate the kicking off of their monthly Christmas challenge! So if you don't have this cutie yet, get him quick because the giveaway ends this weekend! :)

Be my Valentine

Hey there, can I just say that I am not doing a great job of starting the week off on the right foot. Once again I feel like I'm running behind as soon as my feet hit the floor... sigh. Oh well, hopefully one of these days I will get this new schedule all figured out and be back on track.

Until then I've got a super quick card to share. Last night when I sat down at my desk, I started in on an entirely different card. Half-way through I just wasn't feeling it at all and I knew that I would have to dig through my paper stash to fix the problem but time was an issue so I had to set it aside and whip up something else in a flash. So I grabbed some Doodlebug Valentine die-cuts, border stickers and little Phoebe Ketto and threw this together. I stamped Phoebe right on the die-cut which wasn't the best cardstock to color on because the ink kept wanting to bleed but I did the best that I could with it. And can you believe there isn't a bit of pattern paper on this one? LOL :)

Alrighty, I so have to go get ready. Have a good one my friends! :) Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill

Hugs & Kisses

Howdy friends!

Once again I am on the run, I blame it on some very poor time management recently, oy! I'm tellin' ya, I need to get back on track!

Anywho... I've got another card where I used the double stamping trick in order to get Lulu Ketto to look good directly against that pattern paper background... no way was I going to try and cut out those skinny arms and legs, LOL! This time though, I used the Memento Rich Cocoa because I think it gives the image a softer look than the tuxedo black which is exactly what I wanted to go with this soft and pretty paper that I was using. The rest of the card basically falls under the category of, "when in doubt throw on some flowers". ;)

Ok, I reeeeeeally need to get moving... TTFN!

More Ketto love

Hello and good morning!

I'm in a bit of a rush this morning so I'll get straight to my card for the day... as you can see I didn't put my Kettos away so I decided to ink up another one. Nothing wrong with that, right? ;)
I wanted to have Ginger on this journaling card but I didn't want her to cover up most of it and lose the design so I knew I would have to cut her out. But I also knew that there was no way I would be able to cut out all of those skinny arms, legs and stick pins of hers. Hmmmm... what to do, what to do? I ended up stamping Ginger twice, once directly on the note card and once on my Paper Trey card stock for coloring. Once I had her colored and started cutting her out I simply snipped all of those little pieces right off and then I just pop dotted and layered her right over my first stamping on the card. Not a bad little trick if you find yourself with a similar image. :)

Okay, time for work... chat at ya manana! Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and PTI

Better with a friend

Good morning... any big plans for the upcoming weekend?

I'll be working so nothing too exciting lined up on my schedule. But it's all good, 'cause as long as all this cold and snow stick around it's not like I feel like doing a whole lot of adventuring or anything.
In fact, I was quite content to continue cleaning/organizing the crafty room yesterday and couldn't have been happier... I'm finding things that I completely forgot I had, so it is like little presents popping up all around me, LOL! Yet with all those papers and goodies what did I reach for to inspire this card? Packaging left over from some Prima flowers! I thought it was too pretty to throw away so onto the card it went. Then when I was looking through my stamps for something to go with it I came across my Kettos and this cute little duo caught my eye. It had been a while since I colored up any Kettos so these gals were really speaking to me. I wonder if Stamping Bella will ever release any new Kettos? I know I would love to see a few new additions to that line. Anyone out there heard anything?

Well, I suppose I should go get ready for the day. Have a good one my fellow stampers, I hope you find some time to get crafty this weekend. :) Supply list:

A sweet new challenge

Howdy folks!

Have you heard about the new Lollipop Crafts challenge blog? Their first challenge went up yesterday with an "anything goes" theme and I just had to play along! So I quickly put together this card using Miss Match Ketto and I even drew her a lollipop in honor of this being for Lollipop's first challenge. :)

Kris and Kim are such talented gals with a great group of ladies on their dt and I wish them all the best on this new venture with many more fabulous challenges to follow! So if you've got time to play along this week I'm sure the Lollipop Girls would love to have you join the fun... and there is even a prize up for grabs which always makes for some great incentive to get creative. :)

Let the good times roll

Hiya!

So I've got a quickie to share today before I head back to work. I know my simple Sundays have had to take a back seat to all of the previews and sneak peeks I've been sharing lately but this card definitely got done in under 20 minutes.
I frankensteined a Heidi Swapp card kit and stamped lil Rollanda Ketto right onto the front. This made coloring quick and easy though I did have to be a bit careful with the thinner cardstock to avoid massive color bleed (I've totally gotten spoiled by my wonderfully thick PTI). Then I simply added a couple stickers from the kit, the big flower and a bunch of Stickles to finish the whole thing off. And can I just say that I firmly believe one can never go wrong with pink, orange, white and kraft... this combo just takes me to my happy place! LOL

Oh and for those who asked, Oreo and Dukie are getting along famously... actually I think poor Oreo is getting a bit fed up with all of the attention and wanting to play that he gets from pup pup. But the best is in the evenings when I'm sitting on the couch with one snuggled up by my side and the other snuggled up behind my head... awwwwwww... =)

Have a stamp happy day my friends! Supply list:

Another quickie

Hi gals! Hope everyone is having a lovely day. :)

I'm still experiencing a few technical difficulties... nothing major, but I am going to make this quick once again today. Hope you can bear with me here in the meantime.
So not only is this post quick but so is today's card. I was cleaning up my desk and found this little sheet of die cut tags and I decided to pop a few out and put them to use. All I did was add some stamping and ribbon, layer, layer, layer... done. Ok, so maybe there is a bit of coloring and embellishing too but you get my drift. It seems like when ever I need a quick card I reach for my Kettos. That tiny size does have its benefits once in a while. ;)
Plus because she's a fairy and Flutter By is open this week I'm entering miss Maisy into that challenge, which is always fun!
Oh and I got some new teeny, tiny pearls from Rachel that are quickly becoming quite addictive... I was able to add my bling bling without overwhelming little Maisy, yeah!

Ok, time to get ready for work... later dudes! :)

Hello sunshine!

Wheeeeewww... did you hear that? Yep, it was me breathing a huge sigh of relief. :)

It was a stressful week but I managed to complete everything I needed to get done and now I can enjoy the weekend. Yeah! Do I have big plans? Heck no. I'm just gonna chill and relax here at home and let the snow continue to fall all around me... well, and make some cards too. ;)
Though I really need to clean the crafty room because it totally looks like a tornado ran through there, oy!
Boy is that the story of my life... jumping from project to project, leaving a path of 'organized' chaos in my wake.Ok, I'm probably being a bit generous with the 'organized' part of that description but denial ain't just a river in Egypt my friends. ;)

So after a hectic day I tried to do my part to leave the crafty room a little less messy than I found it by using up some more of that Basic Grey card kit. And again this one doesn't follow their recipe because I just had to put my own spin on it so I could fit little Sake on there. She's another Ketto stamp that I've had since this summer and she let me know it was her turn to see ink. :) Hey, she was super quick to color and that was exactly what I needed today especially when I was also looking for something to fit this week's Diedrich Dare inspiration. It's a little make up set with some Asian flair to it so miss Sake was perfect! Oh and I'm still lovin' that PTI cardstock too... ;)

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

It's the most wonderful time of the year

... there will be much mistletoeing and hearts will be glowing so be of good cheer!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... yikes, it is down right freezing outside! This time of year always makes me extremely thankful for living in the times I do, where I do... how did people survive before electric heating? ;)
So I have today off and I get to stay all warm and toasty, snug as a bug in the craft room. Well, after one more quick run to the post office that is. Then the day is mine, man I love that feeling. I'm hoping to be really productive since I have a couple projects I need to get done asap.

Ok, onto today's card... so I just couldn't resist playing with another Ketto fairy and altering her into a Christmas card theme. I'm also entering this into the Flutter By weekly challenge since it is open to anything this go round. I wiped away the flowers Phoebe was holding then replaced them with the dollar stamp sign and present. In real life there is a whole lot of sparkle going on here but for the life of me I couldn't get it to photograph at all. Oh well.

Don't forget you still have until tomorrow night to post an entry onto this week's Sweet November candy, check it out here. The winner will be announced on Sunday. :)

Time for me to go get busy... later gators! Supply list:

Although it's been said many times, many ways...

Merry Christmas.

Ok, ok so I'm a bit early with that sentiment but can you believe here we are at December 1st already? Craziness I tell ya! I feel like if I blink I'll find myself in 2010 already. :)
All I can do is concentrate on the here and now and right now I'm really close to getting all of my Christmas cards done for this year... yeah! Even better than that, I have a good stack of them stamped and ready to drop off at the post office on my way to work this morning. I'm feelin' so on top of things! What a great start to the month. :)

So yes, my card today is another Christmas card and this one works for the Flutter By #85 challenge to use circles. I figure the circle behind Madeline and all the bling gems qualify. ;) When I sat down to make a card yesterday I was originally thinking of doing another Gorjuss Girl but then I flipped past my Kettos and realized they've been pretty neglected the past few months. So I thought if I could alter Gorjuss and the like to work for Christmas why couldn't I do the same with the Kettos? Ahhhhh... I detect a personal challenge and who am I to back down? LOL

Thus I present to you the resulting Ketto Christmas card. I wiped away her little flower crown and added a clear dollar stamp ornament to her hand but otherwise I didn't have to change her that much. I'm actually kind of sad to be winding down on the whole Christmas card thing because I have a lot more ideas for using these little gals now. Oh well, there's always next year...

Alrighty, I'm off to get ready for work. Don't forget to scroll down to yesterday's post if you want to be entered for a chance to win this week's Sweet November candy!

Nothing lasts forever

Yes, I'm afraid to admit it but my desk is once again a disaster area. Try as I might it just could not stay clear and clean... ugh. Not only is the desk piled up with stuff, I've seriously got to get in there and organize the rest of the room as well... it's getting a bit out of hand. On the bright side, I did manage to put this card together and it completely uses left-overs from the Miles & Maisy Sprout card that were still kicking around. When I saw the new Diedrich Dare's color challenge of orange, blue and green I knew it was meant to be that I use up more of these scraps... it also doesn't hurt that it is one of my fave color combos too. ;)
Well I've gotta get busy... catch you in 24.

Is it Friday yet?

LOL... just kidding, sort of.
It feels like a lot is going on all at once this week which is keeping me super busy. Some of it fun, some of it not so much, so a little break would be nice. I feel bad because yet again I've got to post and run. Oh well at the very least I can share this last note card from the set I made. :)
Until the time I can wax more verbose I bid adieu, to you and you and you... gotta love The Sound of Music... ;)
Supply list is pretty much identical to the last card... :)

Busy, busy

Hello!
Well between work, trying to come up with some rockin' cards for my Team Anya try-out and other things I am one very busy girl right now... which isn't a bad thing at all. Though it does mean I have to be quick on the blog posting, so quick I shall be. :)
Last week I made three coordinating little note cards in my attempt to finally use up some scrap papers. I figured if I wasn't getting the job done making one card at a time maybe I could do it with three... I didn't exactly succeed in getting rid of it all but I was happy to use up some of these kraft label stickers that I've had sitting on my desk for like a year or so. Yeah!
Hasta la vista, stampers... :)
