Arrest Warrant against Richard Gere stayed

Gere, who frequently visits India to meet with the Dalai Lama, agreed to subject himself to the jurisdiction of the Indian courts and sought relief from the arrest warrant from the highest court of the land. An attorney for the actor sought an urgent hearing from the supreme court because the arrest warrant could come in the way of a scheduled meeting between Gere and the Dalai Lama.

Schoolgirl found alive against all odds
Yesterday, when West Yorkshire Police crashed through the door and opened up the drawers of a divan bed, they discovered the frightened figure of Shannon Matthews, abducted 24 days earlier. In a separate drawer on the other side of the bed, the police made a more disturbing discovery: a 39-year-old man who was hauled out and arrested on suspicion of abduction. It is understood the man is a relative of Shannon's stepfather. The largest police operation in the area since the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper 30 years ago came to a close with hope triumphing over tragedy, triggering dancing and celebratory drinking in the streets of Dewsbury, Shannon's home town. The property where she was found, which had a small Pokémon toy in the window, was just a mile from the nine-year-old's home and was understood to be on a police watch-list. When two detectives visited yesterday morning, they grew suspicious and questioned a downstairs neighbour, who told them of hearing a child's footsteps in the property, which was not usual. The officers called for back-up which arrived in the form of four police vans complete with dogs. Neighbours crowded on to landings and watched as, at 12:30pm, uniformed and plainclothes officers smashed the blue back door of No26 off its hinges and charged inside. Five minutes later, a plainclothes officer emerged carrying a girl in a pink top in his arms. Christopher Heaps, who lives at No 4, asked: "Is it Shannon?" The officer said "yes", while another officer declared: "We've got her." Last night, Mr Heaps said: "I was very shocked. I couldn't believe it was on my own doorstep." Mandy Dixon, 37, whose home overlooks the flat, said: "Officers went inside and seconds later came to out say they had got her. Someone asked, 'Is it Shannon?' and they said, "Yes, she is fine". They came out with her a few moments later and put her in a car and took her away. She looked frightened."In the tight-knit, working-class community of Batley Carr, where the discovery was made, news travelled swiftly to nearby Dewsbury, where neighbour Peter Brown broke the news to Karen Matthews that her daughter was alive. Mr Brown said: "She just froze. She was in shock. Then her reaction was crying. After that, she had a phone call from the police liaison officer. They came to pick her up."Shannon's father, Leon Rose, 29, said he was "over the moon". He said being reunited with his daughter would be like "winning the lottery". Within minutes of the news of Shannon's discovery, neighbours – who had spent three weeks scouring waste-ground and handing out flyers to assist 300 police officers in the search – were dancing in the street. A banner was strung up across a window, declaring "Welcome back, Shannon", and bearing the signatures of all her friends. Children returning from school to houses in Shannon's road cried and hugged each other, chanting Shannon's name.Callie Brown, eight, who is in Shannon's class, said: "We all had to go into the hall for an assembly. I was crying my eyes out. I'm going to give these 22 letters to her from her friends. I have missed her loads."Last night, specialist officers from West Yorkshire Police were beginning the delicate process of interviewing Shannon to find out what happened to her. Shannon's mother had raised the alarm at 6:48pm on Tuesday, 19 February. Mrs Matthews said she had said goodbye to her daughter at 8am as Shannon said to her: "I'll see you at teatime, Mum. Love you."When Shannon did not return at 3:30pm as usual, she went out looking for the youngster, trying first her cousin's home a few hundred yards from her house in Moorside Road. When it became clear Shannon was not at any of her friends' homes, Mrs Matthews dialled 999. Police eventually released a clip of that frantic and tearful call. The investigation process was complicated by the complex nature of her family relations.Shannon's natural father, Leon Rose, 29, lives in Kirk-heaton, near Huddersfield. He and Mrs Matthews separated more than five years ago. Shannon's full brother Ian, ten, lives with him. Mr Rose said Shannon may have run away to try to find him, after writing on her bedroom wall that she wanted to live with him. Earlier this week, Mrs Matthews said she believed someone she knew had snatched her daughter "to hurt her". Some locals were angry that rumours had linked Shannon's stepfather, Craig Meehan, with the young girl's disappearance.Last night, Peter Brown, the neighbour who broke the good news to her mother, summed up the feeling of the community. As the bottles of wine were opened and the tops of cans of lager pulled off, Mr Brown said: "We're going to have a party." Neighbours gathered in Moorside Road, setting up disco lights and letting off fireworks.

Don't know anything about sensex?... Here you go....

The Sensex, first developed as a share price index for the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in 1986, is aimed at capturing the overall level of prices in the market based on 30 of the largest, most liquid and representative scrips available on the BSE. While it is a price index, what it really measures is the free float market capitalisation of its 30 constituent scrips in relation to the base period of 1978-79, which is equated to 100.
What does market capitalisation mean?
It is simply the value of all the shares that a company has at the current market price. In other words, it is the price of each share multiplied by the total number of shares available.
What is free-float?
The free-float of a scrip is the proportion of total shares issued by the concerned company that is readily available for trading in the market. It excludes the promoters' holding, governments holding, strategic holding and other locked-in shares that will not normally be available for trading in the market. In essence, the free-float is the proportion of a companys shares that is readily available for buying or selling.
What are the advantages of using free-float market capitalisation for the Sensex?
Since the idea behind the Sensex essentially is to capture the movement of the market, it makes more sense to look at shares that are actually available for trading than all the shares of a company. For instance, consider a situation in which the share prices of company A and B both increase by Rs 10 on two different days. Now assume that company A has one crore shares whereas company B has two crore shares. If total market capitalisation were taken into account, the day on which company A's price moved up would have increased market capitalisation by Rs 10 crore, whereas on the other day the increase would have been Rs 20 crore. The Sensex should then increase more sharply on the latter occasion. Now suppose that only 10% of company B's stocks are in free-float, while 40% of company As are on free-float. In that case, on the day that company B's price moved up by Rs 10, only 20 lakh shares available for trading would have seen a price increase that the market could take advantage of. In company A's case, on the other hand, as many as 40 lakh tradable shares would feel the impact. Clearly, for the market the latter is more of an impact.
Are the 30 scrips always the same?
Not at all. There are constant revisions as some scrips become more liquid or become among the ones with the highest market capitalisations and so on. In the current year itself, for example, L&T moved out of the Sensex in May with Maruti Udyog Ltd coming in to replace it. Later, in September, L&T was back as part of the Sensex, replacing MTNL.
Who decides which scrips will comprise the Sensex?
The Bombay Stock Exchange has an Index Committee consisting of a mix of academicians, fund managers from leading mutual funds, journalists, market participants, independent governing board members, and the exchange administration. The responsibility of keeping the Sensex in tune with the changing reality of the market lies with this committee, which has laid down quantitative and qualitative criteria to use in deciding when to exclude or include a particular scrip. The committee meets every quarter to review the Sensex as well as the Bombay Stock Exchange's other indices, though changes need not result from every meeting. When the committee does decide on a change, it announces six weeks before the actual replacement which scrip or scrips will go out and which will come in to replace them.

Munnabhai ties the knot
Finally, SANJAY DUTT and Manyata are official married and have tied knot. There were several rumors regarding their secret ‘nikah’. San jay’s close friends and relatives have drifted away from Sanjay. The couple is quite excited and have no words to express their feelings. However, all’s not well in Dutt’s family. Sanjay’s sisters and their families were not seen at the wedding and the ceremonies. At the same time the family has not given consent to Sanjay’s and Manyata’s marriage.
BIWI NO 3 AND PATTI NO 2…….
Another surprise about the newly wedded bride of SANJAY DUTT Manyata is that she is a married women and BEGUM of an under world don MIRAJ-UR-REHMAN. He is the man who admittedly sends nasty SMSes to starlets, sending them scurrying to the police station first, and the tv cameras second. He has previously been named for sending dirty messages to Naghma, Neha Dhupia, Celina Jaitley and Kangana Ranaut.
He has also lodged complain against Sanjay as one can not marry a married woman till she is divorced from her first husband. In his own words“We married at a flat in Mercury Park on February 5, 2003,” he said, “and we have a three-year-old son who is in Dubai with Manyata”””’s aunt.” His son’s name was Mustafa, Miraj said. “YEH ISHQ NAHI ASSAN”
Our Bollywood Star Sanjay Dutt is always into news for wrong reasons and controversies.
We hope him to get rid of all miseries and enjoy his married life with his beloved Manyata on the auspicious occasion of VALENTINES DAY.

Confused whether this is a car or a boat... But it is both... Amazing is'nt it?...

A reason to rejoice for all the lazy bones, as they can chill inside a swimming pool or in a sea during extreme summers or winters . A swiss company has revealed that they have produced world’s first real submersible car, squba, inspires by the 1977 bond movie ‘THE SPY WHO LOVED ME’ Aqua car is stable at a depth of 10m, runs on three electric motors and is powered by rechargeable lithium -ion batteries. It will be a change for all the die hard romantics as they have new places and venues to spend some quality time and isolated time with their dates. Unlike military vehicles, which can only drive slowly on a lake bed, this car can provide a stable “flight” at a depth of 30 feet. The combustion engine from a sports car has been removes and replaced it with several electrical motors. Three are located in the rear, with one providing propulsion on land and the other driving the screw for underwater motoring. Passengers will be able to keep breathing underwater through an integrated tank of compressed air similar to what is used in scuba diving. But they will get wet.
It is a sure bet that the “squba” will steal the show from any ‘Bay watch’ beauty on the beach. And easily, too: You drive the car into the water and the car floats. That is, until you crack the door to let the water in. Immediately the “squba” starts on his way to the underwater world. The occupants’ breathing air comes from an integrated tank of compressed air that divers know from scuba diving. For safety reasons engineer’s have built the vehicle as an open car so that the occupants can get out quickly in an emergency. With an enclosed cabin opening the door might be impossible. It is even capable of autonomous driving on land thanks to a sophisticated laser sensor system without any help from the driver or passenger. The car will be a treat for all the car lovers and water lovers and it will be displayed at Geneva Motor Show next month.
