C86 Mother Earth Collection Happy Birthday Card

C86 Mother Nature Collection Card by Bev Code

Today I am thrilled to share my Fab Scraps Card using the C86 Mother Earth Collection. I love the fun bold colours and great print design.  My Grand Daughter will get this for her 13th birthday. OMG they grow up so quick.

FOR THIS CARD YOU WILL NEED:
Paper: C86 Mother Earth Collection, 007 Berrylicious, 002 Botanical Bulb
Chipboard: CD86 015
Markers: copic
Sketch: Feeling Sketchy
Other: cardstock, mini 8 punch, twine, flower, alpha label

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP #1: When creating cards with or without a sketch I like to grab the paper collection and pull at least 3-5 papers that coordinate leaving my options open as I go along. If there are matching accents I pull them too or have paper options that allow punching or making accents too.

STEP #2: For this card I started again with a single sheet background to make mounting to the full card base later easier.  On this one I started with the full striped sheet matted with cardstock. I used the mini 8 punch to create the circular punched background and it was matted so the punched edge would pop with colour.

STEP #3: Next I cut both the tags and sentiment pennant sized to fit the central section of the punch circle.

STEP #4: Twine was added to the tags and sentiment added to the pennant and matted.

STEP #5: Now using the chipboard accents I coloured them using copic markers. They were clustered together and a flower added to finish the extra accents.

This was very simple and easy but it's the rich elegant papers and colours that make the whole card pop.

Thanks for joining me today.

C86 Mother Nature Collection Oh so Peaceful Layout

C86 Mother Nature Collection Oh so Peaceful by Bev Code

FOR THIS LAYOUT YOU WILL NEED:
Paper; C86 Mother Nature Collection, Wild Olives 005, Berry Bliss 008 Butterfly Script 006
Stencil: DS 052 Branches of Leaves
Sticker: ST86 001 post cards
Metals: E6 008 assorted
Chipboard: DC86 005
Marker: copic
Die: My Memory Box
Other: cardstock, flowers Petaloo, Forever in Time, Lace

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP #1:  Most often when creating a layout the best starting point is grabbing lots of matching coordinating and contrasting papers with lights, darks and a mix of prints along with some accenting cardstock. These papers should match well with the photo(s) you have pulled to work with.

STEP #2: I like to layer the papers to see what looks the best .. on top of each other... then lay the photos on top to see what looks the best.

STEP #3: When you have a rough idea then I decide on the background and often cut pieces of different shapes and sizes to get the most out of the papers that will be behind the photos. Inking the edges helps them pop where the changes are made. (if you're like me and don't glue down right away my tip to you is to take a photo of what you liked so when you pull it apart to start gluing from the bottom up.. you can view your photo for reference).

STEP #4: with the background roughly done I like to lay the photos back on and see how things look to the eye. Lots of time you now need some stenciling with a pop of colour, or a die cut shape to pop with both colour and design. These often give the photos a base to hold them together. For this page I added dark green stenciling and some die cut shapes from cardstock.

STEP #5: The title is chosen and for this on I copic coloured the chipboard Oh so Peaceful.

STEP #6: I chose a few accent options and played with them moving them around and rearranging them until they fit. For this page I chose some great metals in a floral and leaves along with some burlap accents with a lace bow to for clusters in 2 sections of the page.

STEP #7: There was a fab postcard sticker that went great in the title section as part of a clustered section.

STEP #8: The outer section of chipboard off the title was copic coloured and was used to behind the one photo.... one photo was matted for pop of colour and .. one was left plain.

Just remember pages should showcase the photos, tell a story and preserve memories for the future to share.

Thanks for stopping by today... .. see you again soon.

Fab Scraps C86 Mother Nature Collection Tag

Hi.. super excited today to share my Fab Scraps blog post with you using C86 Mother Nature Collection. Be sure to visit the store for this collection and the many others available. They are all amazing with fabulous mix of papers, stencils and accents.

FOR THIS TAG YOU WILL NEED:

Supply List:
Ink: Tim Holtz mini pad
Stencil: The Crafters Workshop
Punch: Kreaxions
Die: Memory Box
Others: flowers, leaves, ribbons, beads, cardstock, twine

INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP #1: Making tags are fun and easy. They are small and that allows you to use stash from collections after you done making the big products first. Up first then is to pull lots of scraps that coordinate, cardstock and lots of options for accents.

STEP #2: As per above photo I pulled lots of papers...  cut the cardstock base roughly 3" x 6"  standard size and using the prints I cut pieces, die cut an accent, punched a border and made some matted pennants.

STEP #3: I punched the corner of this tag base on the upper corners only. Ink all the edges, ink through stencil on the upper right corner.  The Post Card piece is fussy cut from the print paper.

STEP #4: We can assemble the layers now matting some for extra colours, layers and shapes. By doing this process first it allows us to wrap twine around the whole piece.

STEP #5:  Now we put together the back piece .... adding the die cut honey combs, inked stenciling and on the lower edge the floral punched border.

STEP #6: Now put the 3 layers together using a tilt position.

STEP #7: Assemble the 2 clusters of flowers with leaves and the bigger one I wrapped the stems with ribbon and tied off with a bow. Position the clusters and glue down.

STEP #8: Punch the circular hole.... tie off with coordinating ribbons and a stand of beads.

Thanks for joining me today.

http://thescrappysideoflife.blogspot.ca/2009/10/make-take-monday_26.html

FOR THIS LAYOUT YOU WILL NEED:

Supply List:
Paper: C86 Mother Nature Collection
Template: Watering Can Rachel Ricks/ blog

STEP #1: Creating projects that come with a free template are awesome. They take a bit of time to assemble and then decorate but look so fabulous when done. This watering can started with the template below. I actually printed the pattern direct on the print paper that I sized to 8.5" x11".

STEP #2: Be sure to print on the wrong side.

STEP #3: Hand cut the pieces apart.

STEP #4: Assemble the pieces gluing firmly and let it dry.

STEP #5:  Now is the decorating the watering can. This is the fun part. Grab lots of your stash accents and decorate to your taste... add a little or a lot.... isn't it adorable. Here are the views of my project from all sides for you to see.

There are so many free templates available allowing you many choices to create fabulous fun projects.
