What a weird name for a post. LOLx It had been a week since Good Friday and this post was my view on that day since a long time ago. Hopefully I do offend someone.
Entering the Holy week of Catholic church, there are so many masses to attend and I have just to many opinions on all the rituals performed over the years. I can accept simple rituals such as the holy communion and prayers but some others are just berserk.
Some people treated Good Friday as a celebration. WTF Jesus died for us on the cross and some people are celebrating the holiday. Well, I did not fast that day though. T.T As for Good Friday, this year I went to St. Peter's church yet again. These faithfuls just don't get bored of seeing the procession, and kissing Jesus that lying dead on the alter.
When I was a cute little boy, I like going there. Well, not kissing Jesus feet, which is creepy and super unhygienic. The candles really attracted me then. Erm, maybe it's the fire. LOLx I never kissed the leg of Jesus since once I was forced to do so by my grandma. Yucks. Some Catholics are just obsesses with it.
I wasn't going to queue for the kissing part this year but my grandma wanted to go so much, so I just followed. Sweat a lot as the ventilation at the church was sucks. I just touch the feet of Jesus and kneel, nothing much. I even see one auntie, old lady, kiss for so long that the personnel had to ask her to give others the chance. =.=
Back in my village church, the priest also advise us not to be too superstitious. He is right to note that old people believe that holy water is really holy that it can heal any sickness. LOLx It's just tap water, blessed by the priest. The priest also tell us that the holy water should be put on the alter to remind us of the Holy Trinity. He also poked some jokes on those who took so many palm leaves to be blessed by the priest.
What I see is no match for those Good Friday processions that made the news. Many people had recreated the scene where Jesus carry the cross and being whipped by others. And they really whipped the poor "Jesus". WTF Did Jesus teach us to inflict pain on ourselves to show our love for God? Their act of love towards Almighty may be sincere, but I feel it is totally wrong. Their act are comparable to masochist. The worst I'd seen this year, and every other years before, is "Jesus" nailed to the cross, using really traditional nail, and on a human palm. Sad.
From what I see, the passion of the Christ had just become the passion of the Masochist. I agree that we need to show our love to God through actions, but this is seriously not the good way, if it is not wrong. Superstitious beliefs that holy water cures cancer and palm leaves scare evil spirit away should be stopped. Really, if Jesus lives until today, he might just wonder what had happened to his teachings.

Well... it all depends on who's side you're on... Jesus or the Romans. LoL.
