Neko Case

I got to see one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters in concert this past weekend!  Neko Case performed live at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland.

Mandy and I joked about the snipers that were in the windows of this building.

The first band that performed was the Moondoggies.  They were awesome.

Second band was Pickwick.  Also very cool, and worth checking out.

Mandy and I fell in love with this chubby little baby rocking out at the concert.

I'm sure we could've asked any number of people to take a picture of us, but then we wouldn't get that great selfie photo look, am I right?

The main event: Neko Case

She has such a lovely voice.  Even live she just blew my socks off.  Among stuff from her newest album, she performed some of my favorites including "Hold on, Hold On," "Deep Red Bells," and "I Wish I Was the Moon Tonight."

Not only are her lyrics and her voice beyond amazing to me, she also has a killer sense of humor.  She and Kelly Hogan had great chemistry together and kept the audience laughing in between every song.  I'm so happy I got to go to this!

Fall in the City

Today we spent the day in the city with our good friend Sheldon and his son Asher.  I think I would love to live in the city because there is just so much to do.  Besides all the fabulous restaurants and cool eclectic shops, it is just a beautiful place.

Vintage home furnishings!  I love it!

We ate lunch at a place called "Lardo" which had great sandwiches, burgers, and the best fries.  No pictures, unfortunately.  Afterwards, we got a treat at this little food cart just around the corner and it was delish.

I love the cool, old houses in Portland.

Don't think I'm naughty, but this tree reminded me of a woman's genitals.

Stupid cat that made itself at home on Sheldon's car while we walked around the city.

Steph's Trip Part 2

We decided to explore downtown Portland.

Chinatown is the home of many wonderfully weird people.

The city's theme:

Our First Adventure to the City

4-6-12
We went out to breakfast at the Stepping Stone Cafe, made famous by the show Man vs. Food.  We were sure to order the "mancakes."

Here is Mike looking at the fine artwork on the wall.

Check out this dude on his hog.

The infamous Burnside Skate Park.  It was actually a lot smaller than I expected it to be.

We ate our Voodoo Dougnuts at the waterfront park.  Here is my maple bacon doughnut.  I love me some bacon.
