Ages...
that's how long it has been since I last blogged.I guess blogging just grew out of fashion (for me at least). And then there was Facebook - which I can't say I like more than Friendster. Anyhow, that was where everyone was headed. But honestly, I find the endless poking and whatnots rather pointless - no? And I spend too much time ignoring silly requests which no doubt were mass sent. Facebook should have a "Ignore All" function.
Btw,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
if anyone is still reading this.
SO... here I am again - blogging. Let's see how long I can keep this up for this time :o)
I'm feeling lazy today... might be the first day in over a month that I succeed in not doing any exercise at all. But who knows? The day is yet young... I might bring Buffy for a jog. I really ought to... after all that junk I ate yesterday... Ahh... the things I do for food... perhaps after this...
Here are my...
New Year Resolutions
1) Remember the BIG PICTURE - What on earth am I here for? Nope it is not just about earning a living, having lots of money to spend, taking care of your family or being happy. It is all of that, and availing yourself to God and his purpose for your life. Allowing yourself to be used as a tool to impact and change lives. Be a people person. Care and connect. Be loving, caring and generous. Quality time with God.
2) Take better care of my hair and skin - that includes washing my face twice a day (which I already do), face scrub twice a week, and slapping on serum, moisturizer and eye cream twice a day (i already forgot this morning), using better shampoo and conditioner, hair mask once a week (I got some Kerastase products for my birthday last year - lucky me)
3) Make effort to dress better - I've invested quite a bit of money the last 2 months restocking my wardrobe. Over a grand...
4) Keep room tidy and clutter-free - still working on it but I'm really making progress. I've already given up all my Sweet Valley books and some other paperbacks that I've read in the last 10 to 15 years. I've also surrendered most of my polytechnic textbooks, all of the notes and all of my Secondary School junk (except the yearbooks of course)
5) Help Buffy to lose weight (more accurately - fat) and that means jogging with her at least 3 times a week.
6) Lose more fat myself and be leaner - that's why i've been working out so much recently (weights like 3 times a week and cardio everyday), eating and snacking less - hey at least the hard work is paying off! And I keep tellng myself, what's the point of having so many nice clothes if I'm going to look fat wearing them? I've developed some sort of paranoia - good/bad? too early to say...
7) Read 1 book a month - I'm currently reading The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters by Elisabeth Robinson
8) Save 15 to 20 grand by the end of the year - I drew up a food, transport and shopping budget on 1st Jan to help me achieve my goal but decided 2 days later that life is too short to spend my days in constant deprivation. Also I work hard. So I think I deserve to reward myself... whenever.
9) Take part in biathlons/triathlons - which means i need to get a bike (possibly a hybrid which is much cheaper ($500) than a proper tri bike (vs 1.5-3k) since i'm not sure how long i'm going to stay interested). I've already signed up for the 1 Mar Singapore Biathlon which includes 1.5km swim and 10km run! JIA YOU!!!
10) Start Rock Climbing (and also keep dancing - I was involved in TCC's end of year Christmas Production "Father's Love". Such a joy!)
So there you have it...
At least now there's a proper record!
