Christmas Break 2023

Christmas break was so fun this year! We ran non stop. I think people were right when they said, "living in Idaho required a winter hobby so the winters don't feel so long". We have picked up a few new traditions/activities/hobbies this year!

And with the discovery of some new heatless curlers, the girls will rock the look with no effort!

We decided to go check out the Idaho Falls Snow Park sledding hill hype. Jaedyn drove us. She only almost killed us once! LOL (for real though!) She was driving through some curves and Ebony said "look! cows!" So Jaedyn, who has been obsessed with cows lately, naturally turned to look... right before a curve and she almost missed it! She has officially had her "looking" privileges revoked!

The sledding hill was lacking snow! But it was so fun! And there were hardly any lines so we just cruised from one sled to the next. And they had conveyor belts to help with the trek.

With the little amount of snow, the parking lots were NASTY! But they made for some great pix. And the mooooves to get from one place to the next were hilarious. You should have seen us trying to figure out how not to completely destroy our clean vehicles. Analisa saved the day with her floor mats and ended up taking the majority of the discarded mud-infested clothing and boots.

It was seriously so gross. But also SO much fun! We may have to go again soon! This time with snow. And with Chad. (it was a good thing he didn't accompany us this trip- I don't think we'd ever go again if he had! lol

Look at these smiles! Totally worth it!

I came in one afternoon to see Ane giving the kids their first Spanish lesson! The first of many? I don't know, but they loved it!

Helen came for a visit and brought some rocks she collected on one of her many adventures. She taught the kids to do some real legit rock smashing... complete with safety equipment of course!

Helen is so much fun to play games with! We all love it when she comes cuz the games get broken out and it leaves me wondering, why don't we do this more often?

Ooh ooh ooh! After years of saying I was too old to learn a new trick... We finally bit the bullet! We know some people who know some people! Our neighbor and friend is a rep for SCOTT. And his name happens to be Scott. Coincidence? Anyway. He got us hooked up and I mean HOOKED up. He outfitted almost all of us and taught us how to fit ski boots. We rented the rest of the gear we needed and started our first ski season! I know, I know, we went a couple times with this years season passes at the end of last season but now we have a chance to really learn!

And learn we did! Between Ane and Analisa, a miracle was brought to pass. McKinley blew me away! They hooked her up to the harness and went down skier's lane once. Then twice. Then on the 3rd try she was ready to ditch the harness. Ane skied down backwards in front of her and had her pizza all the way down, carving to control descent, and that girl did it! It was amazing! The girl I thought we'd never get down that hill again blew it out of the park! Way to brave sweet girl! And way to work hard and trust your loved ones. And thank you Ane and Analisa! Skiing is going to be so great this year!
