Coffee Shaker Card

Time for another card for the Summer Coffee Lover's Hop,

Yeah...yeah...I am still hooked to the black cardstock and Sakura moonlight pens combo... :P

But...I made a shaker card this time...Shake...shake...shake...

I cut out a coffee mug shape with a kraft knife...for the card front....
Stamped with Archival Ink for some tone on tone stamping using Stamplorations Bold Sentiments (I know....black on black doesnot sound like a good idea...but I wanted to add a subtle detail as I wanted the bright doodles to be the focus...)

Added some clear sequins for the shaker element...
I have been hoarding these sequins for 2 years now...finally...used them...phew...

I made a card with cutout of the mug too...do come back to see what I made with it...
Will be posting it soon

Anniversary Box Card

Hello everyone,

It is my last week as GD for Daring Cardmakers...and it is surely the best dare of the month...
It brought me back to my love of interactive/fancy fold cards...

The dare this month is to create a Box Card...Yay!
I made a box card for my parent's anniversary...

I added my parent's intials on the side flaps...

I used die-cuts, chipboards from my stash...
I have used paper from the Papericious Woodgrain collection as the base of my card...
I love how sturdy their paper is...I was able to create the box card without using any other cardstock as base...

And finally...this is how the card looks when closed...

Do check out the awesome creations made by the talented team over at Daring Cardmakers

I have used coffee and STAMPlorations Bold Sentiments stamp set to create the frame...
I used coffee to colour the frame...also added some coffee splatters and cup marks with coffee

Here's a look at the card...

Shaker Card with a twist

Hello everyone,

I am back with another Valentine Card...can't stop making them...:D
Shaker cards are very much in trend now...but I have observed that there are very less variations of shaker cards...meaning...it usually an image in the background and an acetate either stitched or adhered with foam tape...

And I always like to give my cards a twist...
So here is my shaker card...

Here is a closer look at the shaker elements and the image behind...

I know what you are thinking...where is the twist?????

Wait for it...

Open the card and.............

A bit more....

And Tada...the twist... it is a see-through shaker card...the image is on the inside of the card...

Here's another look at the see-through shaker card...
(My second futile attempt to emphasise that it is see-through :P )

Now that the suspense is over...let me tell you about the all the elements on the card...

The card background - I have used Worn Liptick DI with a circular dauber. I wanted a messy look so I did not try to blend the colour and I also spritzed it with water several time. I have used Vintage Photo DI for the edges of the card. And lastly, I have flicked white acrylic paint with a toothbrush for the white splatter.

The B&W heart - The heart is part of a digi from The Graphic Fairy. I omitted the couple that was in the middle of the heart. Fuzzy cut the image.

Shaker elements - I have used some silver sequins, light pink pearls and small silver balls

The shaker background - I used the heart cut-out from the front panel on the inside of the card. The sentiment is stamped using letters from different stamps. The doodle border is drawn using a Micron tip pen.

Hope you like my shaker card and the twist...

Note: Sorry for the quality of the pics. Had to take them with mobile. :(

Love you to the Moon Spinner card

Hello everyone,

I just can't stop making Valentine's card...even though its been 4 days since Valentine's Day :D
Here's another one...
This one has a lot of my favourite things...interactive part, lovely quote and stars...

I just love this quote "I Love you to the Moon and Back".
I was inspired by the quote to create this card...

I made a spinner card...where the heart goes to the moon and back...lol...

For the spinner part, I cut out a swirly slot,,,which starts with a heart hole and ends in a Moon ( drawn and coloured with White Sakura marker)...
The heart which spins/slides was made using a heart stamped in blue dye ink which was mounted on a white hand-cut heart with foam tape...

I got this freebie a few days back...don't remember which site it belonged to...

I printed it out in black and white...I cut out the words and stars from the image and glued it on the blue card base...

For the black layer, I took a piece of black cardstock and sprayed white acrylic ink with a toothbrush... The effect is amazing...It looks like a view of galaxy or like a night sky full of stars...

I mounted the blue card layer on the black base. In the end I drew a rugged white border with white gel pen...and the card was done :)
I think this makes for a good Masculine card...or even a card for a child.

Interactive & Iris Heart Card

Hello everyone,

When I was little, I received a birthday card from my cousin. It was an interactive. It had a small window and a circular tab on the side. When you slide the tab, the messages through the window would change...

Now many years later...I finally found out how to make one...Hurray!!!!!

So I chose to make a valentine card with this technique...
The quote says... For yesterday's memories,  today's happiness, tomorrow's dreams.... I LOVE YOU!!!
When you slide the circular tab on the left...the message changes...

For the front of the card, I have used pattern papers and some stamping on the side panels...

The I LOVE YOU is a printed sentiment...And the quote in message window is handwritten...

As this card is for my hubby, I wanted to make it more special (read complex :P )...
My husband loves interactive cards as well as elegant cards...so I did both...
I made a Iris fold heart as well...I just think it looks neat and elegant...
I used all my pink and red pattern paper scraps for the iris folding...

And to merge is all together I added the individual elements in an accordion card with 3 sides...

Magic Slider Card - III (Pontiac)

Hello crafters,

This is third in my series of Magic slider cards which I made for New Year.

This is a masculine card...

I used the Pontiac GTO digi from Digistamps4Joy...

Love the digi...

When you pull out the tab, the Pontiac reveals colours...

I had my husband choose a colour for the car...And a great choice he made :D

I added a 2015 banner to a corner of the card... The banner is cut out of 3 different pattern papers.
The 2015 is written with White Sakrura marker

Also I used a circle punch for pull-out tab on the top and adhered it with a brad.

I loved making these new year slider cards. This interactive technique is one to remember. A very clever slider card.

Magic Slider Card - II (Mandala)

Hello everyone,

I hope you an awesome start to this new year...

The start of a new year is like a new hope for new beginnings...

Well....with that I would like to show you guys the second Slider card I made...

This one contains the Mandala design shown in the Inspiration time 2 post...
I gave this card a more ethnic look...

When you pull the tab, the design reveals colours and more intricate patterns...

A pic with the tab all pulled out...

A closer look at the Mandala...

I drew some patterns on the card frame with a golden gel pen and wrote the sentiment with a silver gel pen
Also I used a circle punch for pull-out tab on the top and adhered it with a brad.

I really liked making these slider cards... I think I may make more of them in the future.
What I like about these slider cards is...they are not hard to make and the interactive element is to amazing. And also the expressions and reactions of the people who receive it. People are so surprised when they pull up that tab.

Magic Slider card - I (w/o Staz-On)

Hello everyone,

It is the end of another great year...
With this I would like to share with you a card for welcoming the new year...2015...
We are celebrating this New Year's eve at a friend's place. So I thought I would give a card to each family...

This is one of the best interactive cards...the Magic Slider card. I found the tutorial on Split Coast Stampers

But all the tutorials I have seen so far use Staz-On and I don't have it. So I came up with another idea.

First, I printed out the Celebration Cake digi from DIGISTAMPS4JOY. Then I attached the printout and acetate with some office pins. Now, I drew the cake on the acetate with a OHP Marker
This will work for simple and less intricate designs as the marker tip is a bit thick. But this is a good substitute if you don't want to invest in Staz-On.

Now for the interactive part...
When you pull the tab on the top...the picture slides and reveals colours...The picture gets coloured magically ;)

This is what it looks like when it is completely pulled up...I love chocolate flavoured cake...so I coloured the cake in different shades of brown...

Embellishments:For decorating the card, I cut out the numbers 2,0,1,5 from 4 different pattern papers and glued them on one side of the frame.
For the other side, I took an embroidery thread and coloured it with golden acrylic colour and glued it in a pattern...
I attached a circle pull tab (from another pattern paper) and ribbon on the top with a green brad...

and finally, Wish you all a very Happy New Year!!! Hope your new year is filled with happiness!!!

Moving Blinds Parisian Card

Hello everyone,

Today I am here with a very pretty interactive card. I made it for a good friend yesterday.
I just love giving interactive cards to my friends and family.

I found 2 beautiful pattern papers in my local craft store...I felt that they looked very Parisian...Aren't they lovely

Now, about the interactive part of the card...When you pull the two ends of the ribbon on top of the blinds....

Tada...It reveals a window with picture and a message...

A closer look at the window...

And I added a part of the pattern paper on one side of the inside of the card...

Another look at the pretty card :D

Changing Picture card

Hello crafters,

I am here with yet another card for a kid. I love making cards for children coz of the adorable expressions they give when they are surprised by the interactive cards.

Well this was one difficult card to make...
The card consists of 2 pictures which get changed by the pull or push of tab on the right hand side.

After you pull the tab, another photo appears :)
