Black and White Pumpkin and We Have Hit 100 Followers

I want to welcome those that are new to this blog, we have hit 100 followers. This blog was set up for our sisters to share their craft creations with each other, since we all live in different states. It's exciting to see other people are interested in it also. A big thank you to our followers!!!

Now for the other part of this post: For Halloween I wanted my porch to be a black and white theme. I came up with this pumpkin to add to my porch decor.
I started with an orange pumpkin and spray painted it white, I then drew the words "boo" onto the pumpkin. I used black upholstery nails and pushed them into the pumpkin, following my pencil lines. I then added black ribbon and white tulle. This was such a super easy project and I love how it turned out.
I have a few more details to add to my porch and then it will be ready for me to show you.

glass mosaics

I love Halloween and wanted a new and different item for Halloween. I had made a christmas tree a few years ago, so here is my verson of a pumpkin. While making mine, my girls wanted in on the fun, the next 3 pictures my girls did.

These next ones I just got carried away and wanted to see what I could make. Well I guess some of my Christmas is done. :)

They are really easy to make. You need a frame, colored glass, tacky glue, and a glass cutter.

I glued tin foil down on my glass then drew my picture that I wanted on the tin foil. Then I started cutting the colored glass to the size that I wanted. Dry 24 hrs, grout, let dry, then wipe clean. So easy.

Bead Board Silhouette

I got my inspiration from here. I found the pattern for my silhouette here . I didn't paint the silhouette on, I just cut the silhouette from black paper and used mod podge. I used a scrap piece of bead board, painted it black, I didn't sand this, I just painted roughly to give it the look I wanted. Tied ribbon and tulle - so easy.

Halloween Sign

I wanted to make a Halloween sign for my front porch and this is what I came up with.
It was so easy to make I used a scrap piece of wood, sanded, painted and then used my cricut to cut out my saying and stenciled it to the wood. I then sanded it to give it a more rustic look.

Jute Pumpkins

Have you ever had a craft idea in your head, but not sure if it would work once you made it? This was one of those projects.I am pleased to say it turned out great, just as I imagined and I love them! Love when that happens. I made some jute decorative balls here, so I used the same concept making the pumpkins.
I blew up some balloons, took my jute and put it in diluted Elmer's glue wrapped the jute around the balloon, going around the balloon. I let the pumpkins dry over night.
The next day when the jute was dry, I popped the balloons.
After removing the popped balloon from the pumpkins I took the pumpkin and kind of squished it to form a pumpkin shape.
This is what they looked like after squishing.
I then took the pumpkins and painted them, I got so excited about the project - I forgot to take a picture of this step. I painted some white, orange and left some unpainted. While the pumpkins were drying I took a dowel and cut to the desired length. I then took jute and glued it with my hot glue gun as I wrapped the jute around the dowel for the stem of the pumpkin.
I then took the stem and wrapped wire around it and then curled the ends. I hot glued the end of the stem to the pumpkin. Love how they turned out!

Halloween Party

My daughter had a Halloween party last year and I thought it would be fun to share what we did. I made these witch shoes for party favors. You can find the link to the pattern here.

We made carmel apples for each person to take home.

We filled these cauldrens with candy at party favors also.

We made these witches hats by using a chocolate covered cookie and a Hershey Kiss, glued on with orange frosting.

We also made these crashing witch cupcakes.

Bean dip with sour cream to make the spider webs. I put a (clean) plastic spider on to give it a "spooky" effect.

We had "monster" sloppy joes, olives for the eyes and corn chips for the mouth. It was a really fun party.
