BEER: SYCAMORE BREWERY





I'm not a beer person however my big brother is he enjoys good beer and he loves IPA's (India Pale Ale), I ran across Sycamore Brewery and decided to buy him a Rainbow dust IPA, he loved it, on their website it actually "says pure magic in a can" my brother agrees an it is now in his top 5 best IPA's of all time. 


The awesome thing is the company is right here in Charlotte, so if you are ever in town and need to quench your thirst get a cold Sycamore, with their bustling taproom & beer garden offering in-house sandwiches & international food-truck fare. visit them at:

THE END OF AN ERA: THE KICKSTAND BURGER BAR IS NO MORE







It is truly the end of an era the Kickstand closed its doors forever a few weeks back and it caught my brothers and I completely by surprise. We were looking up closing times because we are going to swing by and get some takeout and we saw permanently closed in a bright red font on the search results under the picture and title. This place was our hangout, we've celebrated birthdays there, taken friends and family, we've even taken dates there, we made memories. The staff was great and always courteous and accommodating, the spirits were good, they always had great beer on tap, and the burgers were awesome, this place and the people will be truly missed.

It has been a true pleasure to serve the Plaza Midwood community for the last decade. It is with great regret that due to construction and renovation on our side of the building, we will be closing our doors for good, effective today. Thank you to everyone who has supported us through the years and the hard work of all of our employees. Until next time Plaza.

My last visit I had the Hungover Cyclist a beef burger with tomato, between two grilled cheese sandwiches I added bacon, with a side of Onion tanglers , yum.

Goose Island IPA




When I am in the mood for a beer I choose Goose Island IPA, hands down its a beer that can go well with anything whether its a steak with potatoes, a roasted pork tenderloin with asparagus, or a nice deli sandwich and chips. It really is a jack of all trades when it comes to marrying its distinct flavor with a dish. Its 5.9% alcohol by volume, and unlike some breweries with an English India Pale Ale in their lineup you can get this beer year-round, none of that seasonal jazz, good beer should be available. This IPA is amazing it has an herby aroma, a smooth malty body, a brisk flavor with subtle coffee notes, and a hoppy flavor that you can taste and feel. If you haven't tried it you are missing out.

Comfort food: WORLD OF BEER






I decided to try " WORLD OF BEER " and I am glad that I did, they have great service a warm eclectic atmosphere an a awesome menu, with over 500 plus beers from around the world, the food is delicious and it would rival some of Charlotte's snooty white-tablecloth establishments that claim a superior culinary experience while draining your wallet and serving you tasteless over thought cuisine. World of Beer is located in the Epicentre Uptown, its not just a waterhole for drinkers that serves"bar-food"it offers you a feeling of upscale dinning, a host of international spirits with a downtown hospitality. I enjoyed myself.
