Graduation card

Happy Monday!  I'm hosting the BBTB2 challenge for the next two weeks, which has a graduation theme.  While graduation ceremonies and parties everywhere have been cancelled due to the corona virus, it still feels important to me to mark the occasion with a card or special gift.  My oldest son's girlfriend is graduating from college this year, after having her senior abruptly transitioned to online classes like most students in the country.  I made her a graduation card, using her school colors of black and red.  I used the Varsity Letters cartridge to cut 2020 and added a graduation cap from the Wrap It Up cartridge, as I had a "Hats Off!" sticker for the inside sentiment.  Some embossing on the red mat with the trusty Swiss Dots folder added some texture.  Of all the embossing folders I own, that is the one I use the most!  I love being able to make personalized graduation cards with the school colors and year.  You can see all the design team projects over at BBTB2 and link up a new cricut project of your own to share with us.

Graduation

Happy Memorial Day!  We are enjoying our 3 day weekend (especially as it's a rare weekend where I don't have to work) and doing lots of yard work.  Our BBTB2 challenge for this next two weeks is a graduation theme.  Since Son#2 just graduated from high school two weeks ago, I was excited to work on a layout for some of the many graduation pictures we took.  I used elements from several different cricut cartridges, but the highlight is the Senior title with graduation cap from an image collection on cricut access called Senior Class.  I also used some flourishes and a scalloped circle for accents.  The circle may be a journal box or may hold a picture-I haven't decided yet.

Our challenge runs for two weeks, giving you a chance to make something special for the grad in your life!  Our Design Team has some graduation projects you can see over at BBTB2.

Graduation layout

Happy Monday!  It's been a roller coaster emotional week at my house.  Son#1 graduated from high school Friday night!  Not only did he graduate with honors in the top 10% of his class, he is also an International Baccalaureate diploma candidate and won a medal as the Outstanding English student of his high school on Honor's Day.  I'm not ashamed to admit I cried tears of pride and joy.  I remember so clearly the day he was born and now he has grown up into an amazing man and I look forward to seeing what his future holds as he heads to college in the fall.

Fortunately for me, our BBTB2 challenge this week is a graduation theme-and you know I took plenty of graduation pictures Friday night! So...naturally I made a graduation layout.  It's fairly simple design, as the pictures will be the focus, but I accented my large photo (which will be a fantastic pic of the cap toss at the end) with the graduation cap from Locker Talk.   The design team has ideas for cards, layouts, etc for graduation, so take a look and link up a project.

Graduation

Happy Monday!  I hope you are having a relaxing Memorial Day holiday!  It's that graduation season and our BBTB2 challenge this week is to make either a graduation or thank you card.  While I don't have any graduates this year, next year Son#1 will be a senior and I expect to need lots of cards as we will know many graduating seniors.  So this card is going in the stash!  I used Locker Talk for the graduation cap and Elegant Edges for the background mat.  The font is from Artistry.  My Swiss Dots embossing folder on the mat did not show up well in the photo, but gives some texture to the white mat in real life!  Hope you will check out all the fabulous cards at BBTB2 and use the linky for a project to share of your own.

Graduation layout (for BBTB2)

Anybody graduating this year?  Our BBTB2 challenge this week is graduation!  My 5th grader just graduated from elementary school so I made a layout for the pictures using the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge for the dapper looking graduate bear and Recess Lite for the diploma and cap.  The cute paper is all from my favorite paper company, Echo Park.  I added a little stamping and stickers from the paper pack and was very happy with how it all turned out!  My 5th grade dude looked almost as cool as the graduate bear at the ceremony-we were so proud of him!  I have to brag-he received the Presidential Academic Excellence Award for making straight As all through 5th grade!!!!  He definitely rocks!

Hoot-erffic Graduation card

It's that time of year- graduation season!  I made a graduation card, using Create A Critter (part of my card series with CAC/CAC2).  I'm going to link it to the Fantabulous Cricut "Congratulations Graduate" challenge.  My graduation owl (he's a very learned kind of owl) uses the American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray paper pack I picked up on a whim at Target one day (not exactly a craft mecca usually, but I check it out when I'm there occasionally and this time was a win!).  I used a My Pink Stamper collection for the sentiments.

"You Did It" layout

I have many pictures from the end of school and elementary graduation ceremony, so I'm trying not to make all the layouts look the same-tricky sometimes, don't you think?  This one used the Phrases cartridge for the giant You Did It and the CM This and That cart for all the other cuts.  Lovin this Basic Grey Shine On collection-it has a weathered distressed look that I really like (the transparency over the journal box is from this collection also).

Graduation layout

I dug out my never used Recess Lite cartridge that I bought last fall for the Exploring Cricut challenge to use a neglected cartridge, and made a layout for the elementary graduation pictures I took this week.  It had some cuts that were perfect!  Isn't the little schoolhouse cute?  I embossed it with a brick Sizzix folder.  I also added some cuts from Locker Talk.  (I think I've never used it because I like Locker Talk so much for school events.)

Movin' On card (graduation)

Son#2 is graduating from elementary school this week.  Yikes, how did that happen?  Time really goes by in a blink (except on days that last forever while not going so well, but enough philosphy, right?).   On to the good stuff-I made him a cute card for his graduation ceremony with 3 Birds on Parade, one of my top 5 favorite carts.  Incidentally, he is the one who convinced me to buy it in the first place!   The stamp set is from TPV called Graduation, and has all kinds of handy graduation sayings and stamps with a kind of weathered look.

I'm going to link this to the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week to do a graduation project-how handy since I need this for tomorrow!
