Not A Card - Take 2

Hi all, I'm back with my second post today!
This is the DT Project I made using a
Delicious Doodles image, for the new NOT A Card challenge at

I used Teri's fantastic Bark At The Moon image to decorate a candle!
I didn't have a lot of time but I really wanted to do this!
I printed the image on to tissue paper, put on to the candle then
wrapped with greaseproof paper & heat set it!
Next I added some black Jaipur Lace from my stash et voila!

I packaged the candle in gusseted bag with a card backing using a couple of glue dots
to keep it in place & added a little ribbon & a matching gift tag.
I hope you like it,
Don't forget to play along at The Crafting Cafe!
I'd like to enter my candle in a few challenges:
Mema's Challenge - Anything Goes
Delicious Doodles: Baby It's Cold Outide
Seemacrafts: Monchrome

I'll share a card using one of their fantastic images a bit later on!

A closer look at the image!
As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!
I used a matt black card base then used white linen embossed & matt black
 cardstock to matt & layer.
The image was printed onto the linen CS

The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards
I added matt of black cs cut with a circle nestie.
The sprinkled a few stars which were punched from black glossy finish CS.

I also decorated the inside of the card.
I was thrilled with how this one turned out, it was exactly as I pictured
it in my head! Something that doesn't always happen for me! lol!

Altered Art & A DT Call

Good morning all!
Todays project is something a little different for me!
Over at The Crafting Cafe this month, the theme is
I haven't done much in the way of altered art but here's what I came up with!

I altered a candle by adding the wonderful image
Working The Land by the lovely Teri over at

Regular Sponsor
who is sponsoring our challenge this month!
Simples!
This is something I have been meaning to try for ages.

I changed the colour of the image in word then printed it onto some
tissue paper which I had taped to normal printer paper.
I cut around the image, leaving a border then held against the candle
& heated with my heat gun until the wax melted enough to encase the tissue.
If you try this at home remember to be careful, it's HOT!

I wanted to go with a rustic look, so I added a little magic mesh, a piece of
cotton ribbon & a layered paper flower with some punched leaves. The items
I have used have all been in my stash for years, so it's good to use them up!
Simple but effective!
I would recommend removing the embellishments before lighting the candle!

Don't forget we are running a DT call alongside the challenge this month.
If you want to be part of our fun team, all you need to do is
add DT after your name when you link up your project!

Here Come The Boys at The Crafting Cafe

Good morning lovely bloggers & readers!
It's Saturday! Yay!!
It's a new month & it's time for the brand new challenge over at
where the theme this time  is "Here Come The Boys"
Here's my little card!

I used an A6 tent fold card base in dark brown, which I made
by folding an A4 sheet of cardstock in half then cutting in two.
The card is more or less flat & can be mailed using a "normal"
letter stamp in the UK not sure about elsewhere!
Something I certainly need to consider with rising postage costs

The image I have use is called Vintage Spitfire & is
from our lovely sponsor

Regular Sponsor

I recoloured the image in Word & cut it out using a circle nestie.
I then inked it while still in the die, with Antique Linen & Old Paper
distress inks!  I cut out a cog using kraft card & a spellbinders die
then used it to frame the image.

The sentiment was done in Word on the pc using a free font
called 1942 Report. It looks so like typewriter font & I reckon
it's just perfect to go with this type of image!

A final side on view of my card! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I do love it when you visit!

Our theme for the challenge this month is
I made this card for a very special lady who was celebrating a
very special birthday last month!
Our very own lovely boss lady Nikki turned 40!
(that's 40 exclamation mark, not 401 as it looks in my typeface!)
Whoop Whoop!
Luckily we share a favourite colour so it was easy peasy!

Our sponsor this month is the lovely Teri Sherman of

The team were all super excited to be working with Teri's fabulous images.

The image I have used is Steampunk Fairy
I think she's just absolutely gorgeous!
I've coloured her with a mix of Flexmarkers & Promarkers.
I've added some stickles to her wings for a bit of glitter!
My papers are Do Crafts & I've had them forever in my stash.
(I think I bought them when I attended one of Nikki's demos at a local craftshop!)
The cogs are die cut with Spellbinders Dies.
I  used my chalk inkpads to lightly distress,
The ribbons were chosen from my local fabric shop & the fabby little tiny
button brads were purchased at Southfield Stationers shop.
