Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY GIRL!

Weight: 16 lbs. 4 oz.
Height: 28 1/2 inches

Iva LOVES:
  • Walking and RUNNING!
  • Going up the stairs so Mommy and Daddy chase her
  • Giving big hugs, especially to Daddy!
  • Her blankie and binky
  • Oatmeal, bananas, graham crackers, taco soup, and especially CANDY (if she sees anyone go to the candy jar, she will be right at their feet begging for more!)
  • iPhones, iPads, and keys
  • Bath-time
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
  • Stuffed animals, mostly stuffed Mickey
  • Whole milk
Iva had her LAST bottle this week, and is officially done nursing for about 2 or 3 weeks (first night not pumping at work was bliss!).  She loves her sippy cup and will drink about 3-4 cups full of water a day and 2-3 of milk.  She is getting her appetite back and we are so happy because we need this girl to keep gaining weight!  She loves to play, both with Mommy and Daddy, and other kiddos.  She is also SUPER good at entertaining herself.  I'm really lucky that she will usually play by herself about 30-45 minutes each day.  Makes my days off a little easier since that is when I have to catch up on all the housework!  We are so happy we have her and we love her SO much!

Iva's first park experience!

On our way home from Indianapolis, Iva was getting a little restless, so we stopped at a park by Dayton, Ohio and played for a little bit.  She was not sure about the grass, and definitely did not like the swings!  But it was nice to get out and stretch our legs for a little bit!

So happy to be out of the car!

First slide ride!

Indianapolis

Iva had lots of fun in the hotel room.  She liked running around and getting into everything as usual!

Cute girl in her towel!

We went out to dinner at a really good pizza place, then to a cupcake shop for dessert!  I had been sick with a cold on the trip, and was worried that I would not be able to taste dinner, because at the museum, I could not taste anything because I was so congested.  Thankfully, I was able to taste it all, and I am so glad because the pizza was SO good!  While we were waiting to be seated, there were these three older ladies waiting too, and this one kept talking to me about red hair.  I'm fairly positive that she was a little drunk!  It was really funny.

I was super happy we found a cupcake shop!  I love the show Cupcake Wars on Food Network and have wanted to go eat a cupcake ever since getting hooked on it!  My favorite one was an apple pie cupcake that had a carmel and apple filling!  It was so tasty!  The guy in the store thought I was weird for getting a picture, as you can tell by him laughing.

We had such a fun time!

Indianapolis zoo

Our second day in Indianapolis, we went to the zoo!  It is not as big as Columbus, but they do have a dolphin show, which was a lot of fun to watch!

Waiting for the dolphins!  Both Derrick and Iva have the same facial expression ha

Petting sharks!

Iva's cute hat.  She would not wear her sunglasses.

My sexy husband checking out some giraffes

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my!  I did not get a picture of the lion, but we did hear it growl!  It was pretty cool

Iva with her new stuffed walrus.  She picked that out all on her own.  We would hold out different stuffed animals (giraffe, monkey, dolphin), but when Derrick held out the walrus, she got so excited, grabbed it and gave it a giant hug while giggling.  So, a walrus is what she got!

Attempt at swimming

It did not work out so good!

Nervously eying the water...

No thank you!

I would rather run in the hall in my swimsuit!

Indianapolis Children's Museum

Over Derrick's spring break we did a mini trip to Indianapolis.  It was SO fun!  We went to the Children's Museum, which was HUGE!  It is the biggest in the United States (at least that is what they said!).  I do not doubt it, because it was so big!  Get ready for a huge picture overload, because we had SO much fun, I had to include it all!

Yes, I will be sad if Iva does not love Barbie's as much as I do!  I loved the Barbie exhibit!

Drummin' away!  This was at the beginning of the day, and she had gotten woken up from falling asleep during the drive there; it took her a minute to warm up!

Had to pause to eat some goldfish!

She had a lot of fun in this little area to crawl and walk in.  It was all padded and she liked to stack the blocks

Iva was SO determined to walk across this little wobbly bridge, and she did it!  Everyone kept asking us all day how old she was because they could not believe she was so small and walking!  She is so cute; even strangers notice!

 We love lunch time!

 Playing peek-a-boo with Daddy!

I like these pictures because I think she looks a lot like me when I was little

The entire day, whenever we would go to a new exhibit, or if the floor would change from carpet to tile, or vice versa, then Iva would reach down and feel it before she would walk on it!
