Narelle's class this Friday- May 30th

Hi lovely ladies!

There are still one or two spots available for my class this Friday May 30th, at 10.30am or 7.00pm.-  get in quick and contact Di if you want to reserve your pack!

Here's what you'll need to bring along:-
Photos-  4 x Wallet sized Portrait orientation photos (approx 6cm x 8cm). I'm sure we could have a go at changing the layout to suit whatever photos you bring!  2- 10 x 15cm landscape orientation photos might work - as long as we can trim them down a bit!
Kit
  • Fussy Cutting scissors
  • Trimmer
  • Ruler
  • Helmar Liquid scrap dots and/or foam tape/dots in assorted thicknesses
  • Double sided tape
  • Clear glue with a fine nozzle/tip

For this layout we'll be using papers from the Kaisercraft "Hello Sunshine" range.  I've used mostly the birds but there are all sorts of animals on the paper (see below) and you can select what ever sort of animals best suit your photos.  The title is die-cut so that can be whatever you like too!

Please contact Dianne by email-  dismale@bigpond.com.au or by calling 0404 266 296 to secure your place in the class. Please do not reply to this post.

Bookings now open for Narelle's Christmas Class

Friday 30th November at 10.30am
"Twig and Berry" Christmas Layout

*  Please do not reply to this blog post or email.  For bookings you must contact Di
on   0404 266 296 or by emailing dismale@bigpond.com.au *

This year has flown past sooo quickly- and here it is, my final class for the year!
We'll be creating a really traditional Christmas layout using the Kaisercraft "Twig and Berry" range.

My layout doesn't have a title on it because I'm giving you the option to use one of the gorgeous Scrap FX Christmas words.  Choose from "Spirit of Christmas" or "Decorating the Tree".

Please advise Di which word you would like at the time of booking.

For the class you will need to bring along:-
  • A 5x7 portrait orientation photo (can be added later if you want to take a special photo during your Christmas celebration) *See below for photo editing tips*
  • A bright Red button (1.5-2cm diameter)
  • Red adhesive pearls eg Kaisercraft or Flourish with a Bling (we'll have some for sale but if you have lots at home bring them along

If you like your photo to have a similar finish to the one I have used on my sample-  here are some basic instructions using the free software "picasa".

This is the photo "before" and "after" the editing!

1.  Download Picasa-  http://picasa.google.com/
2.  Open your photo in Picasa
3.  Select the second tab that has a sun shape on it.

4.  Slide the fill light, shadows and highlights up and down til you are happy with the look, then slide the "Colour temperature" across to the right to give the photo a yellowish tone.

5.  Select the last tab on the right and click on "Vignette" (this is the function that puts the green border around the photo!)
6.  With the colour picker, select a dark green colour, then slide the "size", "Strength" and "Fade" options until you are happy with the look.
7.  Select "Apply" and save your photo!

Narelle's Class- 2nd March- What you need to bring

Good morning ladies!

For those of you who are completing the "Deer Little Ones" class this Friday evening-  please note that we have changed the start time of the class to try and help out a few people who cant get there by 7.00pm.  The class will start now commence at 7.30pm (not 7.00pm as previously listed)

Here's what you will need to bring with you:-

Paper trimmer and scissors
double sided tape,
foam tape / foam dots or Helmar Scrap Dots
Dark brown ink (I have used Versacolour “Pinecone”)
1 x Portrait orientation 5x7 photo
Tiny blacks or brown kaisercraft pearls
Twine

I hope you have all had some fun with your fussy cutting homework!  Just a reminder that you need to cut out the following in preparation (if you cant get it done, don't stress-  we'll give you a hand on the night!)
  1. Cut 12  trees in assorted sizes and colours from the “Forest” glossy paper.
  2. From the “Oak” paper, cut 2 large deers,  2 small deers, 2 hedgehogs and a chipmunk.  (If you would prefer, you could use the rabbits instead of the deers)
  3. From the “Cypress” paper cut 11-12 hearts in assorted colours and 5 or more toadstools.

And finally- a couple of sneak peaks to remind you what this layout will look like!

See you on Friday at 7.30pm (or 10.30am on Friday 9th March!)

Blessings,

Narelle's "Tiny Woods" classes

Greetings ladies!

I have some sneak peaks to share with you for my new classes, using Kaisercraft's new "Tiny Woods" collection.  Over two classes we'll complete 2 layouts, using the one kit!

The first class "Life's a Hoot"  will be held on Friday 24th February, at both 10.30am and 7.00pm.

This one uses a 4x6 portrait orientation photo,
and features some very cute 3 dimensional owls!

You can change the title to suit your photos... maybe"Whooo loves you?"
or anything you can think of!

The second layout "Deer little things" will be held on Friday 2nd March at 7.00pm for the night time ladies, or Friday 9th March at 10.30am for the morning ladies.

This layout uses a 5x7" portrait photo and has lots of trees and some cute little deers, (but you could use the rabbits or hedgehogs from the Kaisercraft paper instead).

Again, you can make the title suit your photos,
(maybe "Some Bunny love you" is you have used the rabbits!)
You'll have the opportunity to do some fussy cutting at home in preparation for this class!

The layouts will be available for viewing in store this Friday, and I will post the full material list next week, but in order for Di to order the products, please let us know ASAP if you would like to book a spot!

Blessings,
Narelle xoxoxoxox

Kaisercraft Party Animals Class

Hi everyone- Narelle here!

This coming Friday (September 9th) I'll be starting my 2 week "Party Animals" class.
If you have booked into the class, you'll hopefully have received a sheet of the Kaisercraft "Chuckle" specialty paper. Your "homework" is to cut all the animals and tents from this sheet of paper (we only need 1 monkey, and you dont need to worry about the little balls etc). Dont get too panicked if you accidentally cut a tail off- we can tuck him behind and no one will know the difference!

For the first week's class, you will need to bring a 6x4 landscape and 3x2 landscape photo, or a 6x4 or 5x7 portrait photo. You'll have a full alphabet set so you can make the title anything you like (mine is "King of the jungle").

If you have some, bring along your Helmar scrapdots or purchase some at the class, along with your basic toolkit and foam tapes.

On Friday 16th September you'll need to bring along all the same things and a 4x6 portrait photo

Looking forward to seeing you there, and if you have any questions just leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
Blessings,

Narelle xoxoxox
