Toysoldiers - King&Country - British Army in the "American War of Independence"

Manufacturer:   King&Country

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

As you all know in 2026 there will be the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the AmericanWar of Independence. So I thought it was time to set my British Army from the ranges of King&Country into scene.

I was lucky to find the mounted officer last week on eBay and got it for 22,50€. The seller told that the horse´s tail was broken. But when the figure arrived yesterday I recognized that the miniature not only had a broken tail, but also must have fallen down some time. The base was also damaged, the figure was crooked and at some areas the paint was chipped off.

So I had to bend the figure straight, to repaint some areas and to glue the tail at its place.
Remembering the price of the figure this little invest of repairs was worth it. Included to the collection the damages won’t be seen.

Merry Christmas to everyone and a happy new year with a lot of time and fun with our hobby.

Cheers

Mike

AWI - Field of Battle 3rd Edition - Battle of Harlem Heights

Hi,

today´s post is about the game we had at Christopher´s House on the 1st of May. We decided to play the Battle of Harlem Heights, placed in the AmericanWar of Independence.

As always the setting of Christopher´s terrain and all of his figures had been real eyecandy.

Christopher (aka Axebreaker) planned the scenario and it worked perfectly. Franz and he played the Americans while Sebastian and I decided for the British. And we really got kicked in the ass. :)

I am sure that Christopher will also publish a post on his blog, too. So my post will only show some of the pictures I took from the game, including some close-ups of the excellent painted figures of Christopher.

If you are interested here is a link to his terrific blog:

and also to the report about the Battle of Harlem Heights.

The rest of the troops will deploy in different turns.

Toysoldiers - New recruits for my AWI-collection concerning FirstLegion miniatures

Manufacturer:   FirstLegion Miniatures

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

last weekend I have won some auctions on eBay concerning figures from the AWI-ranges of FirstLegion Miniatures.

FirstLegion is not the cheapest manufacturer of toysoldiers as they are very highly detailed and also painted on a very high standard compared to other manufacturers. I got these figures on eBay on a very good price compared to the original prices.

They just arrived today and made today´s quitting time a very good one. :)

Cheers
