What Happens....

..when I'm gone for the evening?? This.....

And this..

I think I may have lost the competition on who Lucye likes better. But our kids - oh, they will like me better.

You may have won the battle Jason but you haven't won the war =).

Weekend update with Elizabeth

  1. We went and saw Alice in Wonderland at Studio Movie Grill on Friday night. I LOVED IT! Jason didn't =/.
  2. I watched some babies at the church on Saturday morning. It was so nice to hold babies that didn't cry when they saw me. Much different from my work day.
  3. We visited with Jason's family as they came through Dallas on their way to Riodoso. So jealous they get to ski.
  4. We ate at Chicago Ricks Pizza. So good and so fattening but worth it.
  5. We took Lucye to the vet this weekend for her yearly shots and my poor baby has a skin infection and has to take medicine for awhile =(.

6. I spent most of Sunday reading a book. It was good to be lazy.
7. It was baptism/celebration Sunday at church this weekend. I love to hear how Christ captured other people's hearts. It reminds me of my own love story with Christ. =)

The Stars

Jason and I went to a Dallas Stars game this weekend with some of our good friends. It was our first time to see the Stars play live (and to be perfectly honest - to see them ever) and I have to say that it was really fun. I think hockey is a game best watched in person than on TV, but that is my personal opinion. Anyways, the Stars came back from behind to tie at the end of the 3rd period and then made it through overtime and lost by one in the shoot out. Total bummer. We had so much fun hanging out and catching up with our good friends.

First day of Spring?

Last day of winter (Friday) - 73 degrees
First day of spring (Saturday) - 39 degrees with snow flurries starting at night

What?! Texas weather is weird. Friday I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and walking Lucye outside and on Saturday, I was wearing a sweater, scarf, and jacket. Although, I'm not complaining. I love cold weather. Little snow flurries started on Saturday night and by Sunday morning we had about 5 inches of snow on the ground. I enjoyed it while it lasted. I know it will be 90 degrees here before too long.

"Don't worry, I'm going to catch all the snowflakes. I love this stuff. They are so fun to chase"

"These things are cold. Maybe if I sneak up on them I can get them."

"Man, I missed a lot of them. Oh well. This 'stuff' is fun. Mom keeps saying something about 'snow', but whatever it is - it's awesome"

Merry Christmas! Oops - I mean - Happy Spring!

Weekend update with Elizabeth

This weekend:
  • Jason and I ate at Blue Mesa Grill for dinner for the first time. It was yummy!
  • I did four loads of laundry. Blah!
  • I crossed off three movies on my list to see:
Up in the Air - Not impressed. Have no clue why people were nominated for this movie.
Star Trek - Good. I liked the plot of younger Captain Kirk
Coraline - NOT a kid's movie. Very creepy but pretty good.
  • Shopped with a friend - bought a jean jacket!
  • Saw my nephew for an hour - he's still cute.
  • Snuggled with my dog
  • Snuggled with Jason
  • Researched for our trip to London 2012 - cried when I saw the price for plane tickets
I think it was very productive weekend.

Happy Birthday my love

Today is Jason's 27th birthday. (Whew we're the same age again - I don't like being the older woman). I've shared 5 birthdays with him. It doesn't feel that long ago that we were falling in love and learning about each other. Five birthdays later, I'm more in love with him and he has become my best friend. He makes me laugh, is smart, and loving and compassionate. I am so lucky that he picked me.

I love you, Jason. Happy Birthday! I am so thankful for you!

Visitors

Jason's brother, Justin, and his wife, Lindsay, came and visited last weekend. And they brought the wonderful and beautiful, Karis! We spent the weekend lounging around the house, playing with Karis, and hanging out with each other. Although there was that unfortunate incident of playing In a Pickle, but I am trying to remove that from my memory. Never play that game if you a) have an opinion b) like rules to be followed in games or c) are human. =) Maybe I will give it to a newly married couple as a wedding gift. That would be interesting.

We finally were able to give Karis her birthday present!

A ball tower! What fun!!!

She likes her books.

So I just realized that all the pics I took of the weekend were of my niece. Oops. I'm glad that Justin and Lindsay came too. I promise. But look at this face, how could you not take pics of her? Anyways, I hope they can come visit again soon. It was great having them here.

Birthday celebrations

I love to celebrate my birthday. It's the only the day of the year that is all about me =). This year I got to do a lot of celebrating. It started out with Jason taking me to see the Phantom of the Opera the day after my birthday. We got all dressed up and enjoyed the show so much! It was so beautiful. And randomly, I knew a girl that had a role in the play. She went to high school with me and went to ACU, and we have mutual friends. It was so random. She did great in the play and I'm sure she has a great future ahead of her. Her name is Annika Johansson - look her up!

The tickets!!!

The following weekend some of good friends threw me a birthday party. We went to Texas Roadhouse for some good eats, and luckily, I didn't have to ride on the saddle. We then went back over to one of their houses and had some red velvet cupcakes (yum!) and hung out and talked. It was so much fun and they all made me feel very special.

All of us at Roadhouse. Thank you guys for a great party!

The yummy cupcakes!

I almost lit my hair on fire blowing at the candles..

It was a great birthday and I can't wait to celebrate it again next year but until then I'm going to enjoy 27 with style......
