Why do I live here?

As I checked my phone on my way home from work today, I was appalled to see this number staring back at me.

Seriously, why do I live here? It's fall, mother nature!! Is it just a dream to have 75 degrees and rain??

I think I need to move here:

Yep, I'm packing my bags as I type. See ya later Texas =).

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Here's what I'm loving on this Wednesday
Hosted by Jamie

1. I'm loving that I found out my partner for the Fall Favorite Finds Blog Swap is Ashley from The Sweet Life.  I can't wait to send her all the fun stuff I picked out. I love gift giving!

2. I'm loving that I just bought tickets to see Taylor Swift for when she comes to Dallas in two weeks. My sister in law and my niece are coming down to go with me. I am so excited. I'm pretty sure I might act like a little school girl. I heart Taylor.

3. I'm loving that Idina Menzel was on Glee tonight. She has the most amazing voice. I had goosebumps when she sang the duet with Lea Michele.

4. I'm loving this pic of our little dog. She thinks that the duvet that goes over my bed when its made is hers at night. She crawls on it and falls asleep within seconds. It's so cute that I almost don't have the heart to put her in her kennel. Almost.

5. I'm loving these scarves from Target. They are a great fall accessory.

What are you loving? Have a fabulous Wednesday!!

Weekend Fun

This weekend was very busy, and it went by so fast. Don't worry, we had a lot of fun while we were at it though.

Saturday morning, I woke up bright and early to go to a community wide garage sale with my friend, Dianna. We found some really good deals including this pretty shelf with a picture of Paris in it. After the garage sale, we went to Corner Bakery for breakfast. Yum!!!

Later that afternoon, Jason and I went to the Greek Festival in Dallas for some dancing and food. My boss' daughter was dancing in one of the groups, and so we went to go and see her. It was cool to see all the Greek culture and enjoy the delicious food!

Cute little 5th and 6th graders dancing some Greek dances.

See the girl in the yellow hat? That is my boss' daughter. She did really well. My feet could not move like that.  One because I have no rhythm and two because I 'm still wearing this stupid boot.

I had something that I couldn't pronounce, but it started with a T. It was cheese with fried dough around it. Oh my gosh was it good.

Jason had a gyro. It had lamb in it so I didn't touch it.

We were able to walk through the church while we were there, and the artwork and pictures were beautiful.

On Sunday, Jason and I got up ridiculously early so we could head to Jason's triathlon that morning. He was doing a relay with two other people so he was only doing the swimming portion. I stood around with little miss Lucye and our friends' family while we watched the event.

The lake Jason was swimming in

Here he is heading into the transition point to pass the chip off to our friend, Ryan.

Ryan coming back in from the bike

Patty coming into the finish line

All of them after they had finished. So proud of them.

After we got home from the race, we went grocery shopping, and then Jason and I took a much needed nap =). We then had pumpkin pancakes for dinner. It's a tradition that we always have pumpkin pancakes when fall begins. They were absolutely delicious. I love fall, even though the weather doesn't seem to be getting the memo quite yet.

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Grapevest

This weekend we went to Grapevest which is a festival in a town nearby. It basically is whole bunch of booths with local businesses and tents to sample wines. We have always heard it was awesome so we decided to give it a try this year.

While we were at Grapevest, we ran into one of my old college roommates, Melissa, and chatted for a little bit. She was in town with some friends and they decided last minute to stop by Grapevest. I am so glad they did! It was so great to see her, and hopefully we can hang out again soon when I go back to my hometown =).

Love her!!!!

Jason and I didn't sample to much of the wines. I love wine but I'm one of those people that needs it to be basically sugar in a bottle before I really like it. Dry wines gross me out. I have to have a really really sweet wine to like it.

I ended up getting a wine called Summer Rain and oh my gosh was it ever so good. I think I could have had 3 glasses of that stuff (don't worry I didn't). I think I will have to find this wine in a store very soon.

Jason got a wine that was red,  and it smelled funny so I didn't bother to even taste it. He seemed to like it though so I guess that is all that really matters.

I also had a yummy berry kabob with dark and white chocolate sprinkled all over it. It was heavenly. I think I may need to make these for a get together.

Grapevest was fun to experience and I think next year we will go later in the day when it's not as hot and enjoy a little bit more of the wine!

*Random: Do you like the bigger pics? I can't decide if I should keep them the old way or do the bigger ones.*

Fall Line Up

I have spent most of my morning today going through the DVR to make sure all my shows were being recorded for this week of premieres. ( I don't know what I did before DVR - I can never go back, it has changed my life) Anyways, I am kind of embarrassed with how many shows I am recording. It's a lot people. A LOT. But I can't help it, I love TV, and I think I may have an unhealthy emotional attachment to some of them because of their characters. Without further ado, here are the hundreds of shows that I can't wait to watch!!!

This show started last Thursday but this may be one of the shows that I have an emotional attachment with the characters. I may or may not have started tearing up when Stefan called Elena, and she told him to hold on to the fact that she loves him. Oh be still my heart.

Acapella music is awesome, and it takes pure talent to sing without instruments.

This show is hilarious. It is legen ..wait for it...dary!!

I love this show. It mixes comedy and crime. Can't wait to see what happens with Castle and Beckett this season.

Glee. LOVE IT!!! I'm so glad Rachel and Finn got back together (remember my emotional attachment to characters?) I hope they win nationals this year!

Dr. Reid might be the most adorable character and the whole Emily Prentiss thing - oh my gosh. I can't watch this show by myself or when Jason goes out of town. It doesn't do well with my imagination, but I love it.

I love this show. I will be really upset if the rumors are true that Detective Stabler isn't on the show anymore, but let's just not talk about that. Side note: some people say that Jason looks like him, what do you think?

I'm kind of intrigued by this show. We will see if I end up watching the whole season or not.

Oh the office. Awkward funny. I wonder how it's going to be without Steve Carroll - only time will tell.

This show started last week. I think it has potential. I love all the main characters.

Well, sadly this isn't an exhaustive list. It doesn't include all the shows on Bravo and TLC. I am a TV addict. If you need me this fall, you will probably be able to find me in front of the TV.

What shows are you looking forward to watching?

2. I'm loving that I found skinny girl sangria at Target this weekend! It was so yummy! Go get yourself some!

We will NEVER Forget

I will never forget that fateful day 10 years ago. I was a freshman in college and had just sat down in my 8:00 bible class. We had prayer requests at the beginning of the class and one of the boys in the class said that he saw on the TV in the commons area that a plane had crashed into the WTC. At that point, we had no idea that it was terrorist attack that would cost the lives of many and change our lives forever.

I pause today to remember the people who lost their lives that day and to the families who lost fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and friends. We will NEVER forget.

Extra Souvenir

So remember when I talked about my anniversary and was wearing a lovely boot? Well...let me explain how I got it....

I WORE SANDALS/FLIP FLOPS WHILE I WALKED IN NYC FOR THREE DAYS.

Yep. Not I was saving someone from getting hit by a car, or saving a dog from a fire - I walked for 3 days. I am so cool.

So anyways, they think that I have a stress fracture. It didn't show up in the x-rays but sometimes it doesn't. I have been wearing this boot for 3 weeks and have to wear it for at least another two weeks and then I'll go back to the doctor.

I just have to laugh at myself because of course this would only happen to me....oh well...I got an extra souvenir out of NYC that I wasn't planning on but at least I looked cute in all my pictures with my cute shoes. That, my friends, is way more important than proper supportive footwear =).
