38 weeks!

How far along: 38 weeks!

Baby size: Our little girl continues to plump up. We will find out more precise measurements at her ultrasound on Thursday but she should weight at least 6 1/2 pounds and be about 19 inches long. Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb and she has a firm grasp (got to love those reflexes!)

Maternity: Still wearing maternity clothes. Around the house it's usually some athletic shorts and a maternity shirt. I love my dresses when I'm out and about - they are just so comfortable.

Sleep: Well, I knew this day would come but sleep has not been fun for me this past week. I am waking up to my stomach as hard as a rock every hour and a half and then I just decide to get up and go to the bathroom since I'm awake. I'm more tired throughout the day and get worn out quickly, but luckily since I'm not at work, I've been able to sneak a few naps in and just rest. Even though I feel lazy, I know I will be thankful I had that time because once she gets here that won't happen quite as often!

Best moment this week: I feel like things are coming together for being ready for her. Our bags are packed, diapers are washed, clothes are washed, her nursery is getting final touches on it, and I'm enjoying my time being at home. Jason's work threw us a baby shower over their lunch break last Thursday and it was so cute and we are so thankful. It's exciting to see people just as excited as we are about our bundle of joy.

Movement: She is still moving and her movements are starting to hurt! We were in the movies on Saturday afternoon and she did something in there that took my breath away. However, I'm really going to miss all those little kicks and movements once she is out of me.

Food cravings: I had a craving for a s'more the other day. I've been craving more sweets the past week and I'm trying really hard to not give into it all the time.

What I miss: I definitely miss the better sleep I was having up until this week. Other than that, nothing.

What I'm looking forward to: We have a doctor's appointment on Thursday and we will have an ultrasound to see if our little girl decided to move head down again. In less than a week, our little girl will be here!! If she decides to not come on her own, then we have a scheduled induction for next Monday, August 27. So exciting that I will be holding my precious girl in my arms by then!!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Mild swelling in my fingers so I can't put my rings on but I don't think my ankles have really been noticeably different. I'm getting tired quickly doing things around the house or running a couple of errands. I'm still getting out of breath which means I don't think she has dropped yet. I've had a little bit of heartburn as well this week.

Stretch Marks: None! Hoping this last week doesn't change that!

Belly button: Flat but not out!

Baby Shower

Two weekends ago, some of my college friends threw me and Jason a wonderful baby shower to celebrate our little girl. It was at the local La Madeleine's ( love that place!) in one of their rooms. My friends did such a wonderful job with decorating and making it such a special time to celebrate this new life. I had so many friends come and bless us with gifts and I was just completely overwhelmed. Jason and I were just so humbled to know how loved we are and to see how excited others are for us. We are truly truly blessed.

Fun refreshment table

Cute diaper cake made by my friend Crystal

These cupcakes were so so good

My dear friend - Sarah Jane

Getting ready to open up the plethora of presents

Cute monogrammed bag - in case you are wondering I'm a sucker for anything monogrammed - love!

This was the Mary Poppins box full of bows that my friend made me. The bows just kept coming and coming. I don't think our little girl will be lacking in head wear.

My family are huge OU fans. My aunt got me this cute little dress for game days this fall. We will see if  Jason lets her wear it. =). Texas A&M isn't in the Big 12 anymore so it's not total betrayal.

I put these tights on my Pinterest board and one of my co-workers, Shawna, saw them and got them for me. They are tights with cowboy boots on the bottom - I die!

She also made these cute onesie "cupcakes" with hair bows wrapped around them - so cute!

She got lots of cute clothes!

My wonderful hostesses: Lauren, Crystal, Amanda and Krissie - minus my friend Jacque who lives in Seattle and couldn't make it. I am so blessed by these girls and have so been so thankful for their friendship over the years.

My mom, mother in law and me.

All my lovely co-workers (past and present). They make my job a little more sane =).

It was such a lovely shower and I will forever hold those memories forever. We are so thankful and so blessed by the love that was outpoured on us.

37 weeks!

How far along: 37 weeks! We made it full term! She can come anytime now! Yay!

Baby size: She is the size of a watermelon this week (which I totally believe). She is about 19-22 inches long and weighing about 6 1/2 pounds. Her lungs are still maturing but should be fine is she is born today. She is still shedding her lanugo and vernix.

Maternity: Definitely rocking the maternity clothes and my wonderful elastic shorts. I'm borrowing Jason's shirts at night to sleep in because even though my t-shirts fit for sleeping, they are just so snug, and I would rather be comfortable. Jason seems to be ok with it =).

Sleep: Getting up 3-4 times a night to go to the bathroom plus waking up to my stomach contracting is wearing at me. I'm hoping these next 2 weeks that I'll be able to get some naps in during the day since I won't be doing a whole lot of sleeping once she gets here.

Best moment this week: Making it to full term!!! I'm so thankful that although I've had contractions for the last 6 weeks that it hasn't caused her to come early. She could come any day and perfectly healthy! I'm also enjoying that my last day of work was last Friday! I'm so excited to be able to stay home with my little girl and I can't wait. Hopefully she will give me a little more time to get everything ready for her.

Movement: Still a moving. She has been doing this thing where she is pushing with her legs (I think) on one side of my stomach and then her butt or back pushes out on the other side. It spreads out my stomach quite a lot, and she does it at least 5-7 times in a row.

Food cravings: I'm not really craving anything. I'm hungry randomly in the middle of the night but nothing else.

What I miss: Not being out of breath by doing the most mundane tasks - ha! Seriously it feels like I have ran a mile sometimes with all the shortness of breath I've been having.

What I'm looking forward to: Getting things ready for her! Now that I'm not working and I don't have to worry about keeping the contractions at a minimum I have tons of things on my list. I'm doing laundry for her and starting to wash her cloth diapers. We've put up the pack and play and the car seat is in the car. It's just so exciting to get everything ready for her to come any day now! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and I'm looking forward to hearing her pretty little heartbeat.

Pregnancy Symptoms: Still having contractions and getting up at night to go the bathroom. I get tired more easily so I'm having to take lots more breaks to get things done around the house. I can't wear my wedding rings anymore =). I can get them on in the morning but they get tighter as I wear them, and I'm just afraid that one day I won't be able to get them off. So for now they are put away until after she gets here.

Stretch marks: Still none!!!

Belly button: Not out but completely flat.

What I'm Loving!

It's time for What I'm Loving Wednesday with Jamie!

1. I'm loving that the Pioneer Woman's cooking show started having new episodes this past weekend! I love it!

2. I'm loving the Olympics! I have loved watching the swimming and gymnastics and can't wait to watch the beach volleyball tonight! I'm obsessed!

3. I'm loving that as of this Friday I am going to be a stay at home mom! I'm sad to be leaving some of the best co-workers, but I am excited for this new phase in life!

4. I'm loving the wonderful shower that my friends threw me this weekend. So many people came and showered us with gifts and love, and we are so thankful! Post to come soon!

36 weeks!

How far along: 36 weeks!

Baby size: Our little girl is about 6 pounds and 18-19 inches long. She is shedding most of her downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseousa. She will swallow both of these substances that will come out as meconium when she is born.

Maternity: Still wearing the maternity clothes. They are just so comfortable around my belly right now.

Sleep: I'm sleeping ok. I am definitely getting up 3-4 times a night to go to the bathroom just because it causes me to contract so much if I don't. Plus the Olympics aren't helping because I MUST stay up and watch it all =).

Best moment this week: We had our big baby shower this weekend and we are so overwhelmed by the gifts that we received from our friends and family. It was so humbling to see how much we are loved and how excited others are for our little girl to arrive as well. We had a doctor's appointment on Thursday, and we have a scheduled c-section date of August 27! (unless she decides to flip then it will induction day or unless she comes earlier on her own). It's so exciting to know that our baby girl will be here in 3 weeks or less!

Movement: Still moving a ton! My whole stomach moves when she really gets going. I just love the movements, and it's one of the most amazing and coolest things ever. I truly am going to miss that part of pregnancy the most.

Food cravings: Fruit! I'm starting to want a lot more sweets like ice cream and cookies a lot more and I'm trying to refrain from giving in to all of them.

What I miss: Bending down or having to reach for anything that requires me to bend my knees in general with ease.

What I'm looking forward to: As of this coming Friday, I'll be a stay at home mom! I'm so thankful that we are going to be able to do this. I plan on doing some home health on the side but for the most part, my job will be full time mom to our little girl and I can't wait! Hopefully these next couple of weeks I'm off I'll be able to get all the last minute things I want to get done unless our little one has other plans =).

Pregnancy Symptoms: My stomach has been very itchy this week so I've been lathering on the lotion quite a bit. Feeling like I need to go to the bathroom all the time and getting out of breath very quickly even when I'm just having a conversation with someone.

Stretch marks: None!

Belly button: Still flat - it hasn't popped out yet.
