Weekend Fun!

This weekend we went to Nash Farm for their Spring in to Nash event. We had such a blast and we are looking forward to the fall event that they have in October. They had lots of activities: rope making, wood carving, wagon rides, pony rides, petting zoo, and lots of other things. We got there right when it opened and spent almost 2 hours there. A perfect Saturday morning with my two loves.

E  did really good riding on the pony. She got to ride two separate times and managed to ride the same horse both times. His name was Zeus.

One hand on the saddle and one hand gripped on the shirt of daddy

We took a wagon ride (pulled by a tractor) and went around the crops that they planted this year. Lots of them were already sprouting and growing well.

All of us on the wagon together

She was over pictures by this point

We went to this little area that was supposed to be a rodeo and little kids could ride stick horses in a circle surrounded by hay. I might have died from the cuteness of E walking around with the stick horse. Adorable.

Her stick horses name was Lady

Daddy even got in on the fun

Jason hammered E's monogram on to a leather strap

We went to the petting zoo area where there were lots of fun animals to pet.

They even had a place where you could pretend to wash clothes the old fashioned way and then hang them up on a clothes line!

E had way more fun playing in the water than the actual washing part. =)

I had to take a quick photo op near some pretty flowers on the farm with  my pretty girl.

If you are anywhere near Nash Farm in DFW you should make a point to go to their events. We had so so much fun! Lots of great activities for all ages. We are looking forward to the next one.

The rest of the weekend was spent:

Having picnic lunches in our tent

Playing in our tunnel

And going on a wagon ride to look at ducks

Hope your weekend was awesome too!

20 months!

Oh my goodness! Only 4 more months and then you will be two and I won't be measuring you by months anymore! Time goes by way too fast. You are such a joy and you light up our lives sweet girl!

Here is what you have been doing this past month:

- Your new favorite word is "self". You want to do everything by yourself! Put your pants, shirt, socks, shoes etc on by yourself. Get in the car by yourself. You want to be independent with everything. Some days it's a little taxing when we are in a hurry but I love that you want to be independent. (Reminds me of me)

- You are so funny! You crack us up every day! You even do things that you know are going to be funny and then laugh at yourself.

Ex. The lawn mower guys come to mow the lawn each week and you are fascinated by them. One week you were watching them, and you said "lawn" and I said " yes they are cutting the grass" and you said "self" and I laughed and said "You can't mow the lawn by yourself. That's so silly!" and then you laughed. Well now because you got mommy to laugh about it you talk about it all the time. It's a joke between you and daddy and me.

- You call coffee  - coffees. Love it.

- You try to put your shoes on by yourself and are pretty successful at getting them on your feet. Still need help strapping them but still very impressed.

- You do this funny round "o" face when we ask you something that was really exciting that you did that day; ex. "Elyanah did you see a train?" cue o face "Did you see a bunny today?" O face. haha

- You call yourself "nina" or "neah" when you see yourself in the mirror

- Love taking wagon rides to go look at the ducks at the ponds in our neighborhood and ask to go every day.

- When you run you say fast and then laugh because you think it's hilarious

- Favorite books: Caps for sale, Red Wagon, Ladybug Girl board books, How does a dinosaur books,

- You will shake your finger and say "tsk, tsk, tsk" while reading the caps for sale book ( and sometimes when not reading it) because that is what the monkeys do in the book

- Have started to wake up in the mornings and just talk to yourself in your crib and try to unzip your sleep sack. Some days you get it unzipped and then pull off your pants too. You will do that for about 20-30 minutes before you get mad and want someone to come and get you.

- You will yell out Mickey or Baby (what you call your baby doll) in your sleep sometimes. So funny!

- Love to take your pants on and off. Although most of the time you put one leg in and then take them back off again.

- You are obsessed with Mickey! Obsessed. You have a stuffed animal Mickey that you carry around and hug all the time.

- You get to watch one Mickey Mouse Clubhouse each day (and the only TV during the day) and when the hot dog song comes on you start yelling "no no no" because you know its over and you start crying.

- You love to hop. You can even get both feet off the ground at the same time and sometimes go forward about 2 inches.

- Speaking of hopping, you loved visiting the bunny at the mall. I thought you would be terrified of someone dressed up in a bunny suit but you just walked up to him and hugged him and sat so still in his lap.

- You love piggy back rides.

- You can say "I love you" so clearly now and it might be the most precious sound in the world

- You like to push the button to hang up with every phone call or FaceTime and want to do it even if you aren't even talking to them.

- You love to climb into your rocking chair in your room and rock in it

- You like to count but really you just repeat "five, six" or "one" over and over again while you point to things.

- You are in a very clingy mom stage. No one else will do when you are hurt and if I leave or hand you over to the nursery worker - huge crocodile tears. You are fine if dad hands you over though.

- You are obsessed with looking at the ants in our driveway or on sidewalks. You will yell "ants!" with so much excitement and then say "bite"

- Fave songs: Back to you and Overcomer by Mandisa, Steal your heart by Austin and Aly, Let it Go, Hurricane by Natalie Grant

- When asked who died on the cross, you will say Jesus. We then talk about how he came to save sinners and I pray that one day that you will believe in Him and give your life to him

- You are learning your colors (sort of). You know a lot of the color names. You get green and pink pretty regularly but then yellow, orange, and blue are hit and miss.

- Your cousins (my brother's kids) came to visit for Easter and you followed them around like a little shadow. You wanted them to play with you and would grab their hands and bring them to your toys and make them sit down and play. I love that you love them. You asked about them for days after they left.

- When you eat something really yummy or we are pretend eating you will go "num, num, num"

- Funny story: We were walking out of MOPs the other day and you had been playing with a toy shopping cart when I came to pick you up. I asked you what you were shopping for and you looked at me for a second and then smiled and said "boys!" haha. I have no idea why you said that. Maybe you were telling me there were boys in your class but it was just so funny how you answered it. I told your Daddy and he said he needed to start cleaning his guns. Ha.

- So so many words that I can't remember to write them all down. You are doing great with repeating things and some days you will say a word and I'm amazed that you even know it!

- You say "hiya later" for see you later.

- You weigh about 28-29 pounds and are about 31 1/2 inches tall. You wear 18-24 month and 24 month clothes and a size 4 diaper when wearing disposables.

- You wear a size 5.5 -6 shoe.

- You are down to one nap a day. You usually go down for your nap around 12:30 and wake up between 2:15-2:30. You go to bed around 7:30-8:00 and wake up between 6:15-6:30 every morning.

You are getting so big! We love you so much sweet girl!

Easter Basket 2014

I had so much fun picking out all the stuff for E's Easter basket this year! I probably started buying things a little over a month ago. Most of the stuff was less than $3,  and I got a lot of it in the dollar section in Target or at Hobby Lobby. The big items were the necklace and bracelet that were half off at Carters, the Frozen DVD, and the cute little dress from Simply Made with Love.

E loved everything. We have already gone through all 4 containers of bubbles, played with our play dough every day, and played with the chalk too. It is so much fun to think of gifts for her. She appreciates it so much.

Our Easter Weekend

Our Easter weekend was wonderful and full of fun. It all started on Friday morning. Jason had the day off so we decided to take a family day and go to the zoo! We hadn't been since E's first birthday so it was great to see her reaction again to the animals. She loved the elephants, the fish, and the lions the best.

Looking at the monkeys and leopards

She sat on the elephant sculpture and she looked so cute!

The tiger pacing back and forth when she and our friend's kid came up to the window.

We headed home after the zoo and then after a really good nap (Yay!) we played outside at our water table while Daddy put some stuff in our garden.  Right before dinner, my brother and sister in law and my niece and nephew got into town and stopped by to see us before going to their hotel for the night.

Having a tea party with all of her admirers =)

On Saturday morning, we went and took some bluebonnet pictures in a nearby town. I'll do a whole other post on it but wanted to share one of them. Isn't she just the cutest?

In the afternoon, we went to a park that was handicapped accessible. We had lots of fun. E played with her cousins and wanted them near her all the time.

Getting pushed in the swing by her cousin - so sweet

Going down the big slide with Daddy

On the dolphin at the park

On Sunday, we went to church to celebrate our Risen Savior and then came home and had brunch. After that we put some eggs outside, and E had fun picking them up and putting them in her basket. We got away easy this year. She was happy and content with just empty eggs!

We then took family pictures before my brother's family left.

Brother and sister and their families

And this was the best one we got of our little family. E was over the pictures by that point. Ha!

After E's nap, E opened up her Easter basket (another separate post for what was in it).

Isn't this cutest little thing in a pair of purple sunglasses?

I hope you had a wonderful Easter and that you got to celebrate it with people you love. Most importantly though, I hope that you celebrated that Jesus is alive and that he gave His life so that we may have eternal life.
