Vacation with Just a Scrappin

Welcome back!!

This week over at Just a Scrappin', our challenge is:

VACATION!!
add 3 buttons and at least one ribbon

I think beach when I think vacation. How about you?

I love this (discontinued) paperline from Quick Quotes for my vacation pictures. I used it here as well. And I pulled out a (discontinued - Seaside) stamp set from Stampin Up to go with my beach theme.

I inked my stamps with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Tahiti and stamped right on the pattern paper. I also inked the edges of all my paper layers with Tahiti. I added the Thank You sentiment and punched it out. I added Caribbean twine and buttons from my stash.

I hope you like my vacation thank you card and join us for this week's challenge!!

I embossed the tag and inked the raised parts with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Purple Passion.
I added some Violet and Silver Chrome pearl pens, a doily, ribbon, twine (in Lilac) and a button from my stash.

I just love the way this turned out :)

Hope you are inspired to do some crafting today!!

Quick Quotes Challenge

Hello everyone!

Hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and black friday shopping! I know I did! New 55' TV downstairs to prove it. I think my boyfriend is in love. LOL

This month's challenge over at Quick Quotes was to

I almost missed entering this one as the deadline is today. I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I read the challenge so I took some time today and worked on a page very close to my heart

I still look at some paper and think to myself "Grandma would have loved this line" and that was my first thought with this Cherry Truffle line from Quick Quotes

I inked everything in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Bloody Mary
I used the Teresa Collins Sophisticated Cricut Cart to cut the "Remember When"

I just love this chipboard tree, also from Quick Quotes. I thought it pulled together the page perfectly and didn't embellish it any more than just adding a bow of Cappuccino Twine around the trunk.

I hope you enjoy the page and check Quick Quotes next week to see what next month's challenge will be!!

Autumn Stripes with Just A Scrappin

Welcome back!

It is that time of week again. Time for a new challenge from Just A Scrappin'!!

This week it is

SHOW US YOUR STRIPES
Any theme, but use autumn colors!

I thought back to this card I did and how much I love this paper line by Quick Quotes (sorry, its discontinued). It is perfect autumn colors.
I tore a piece of stripe paper and added it to the brown card. I cut the sentiment from another sheet from this line and wrapped Cappuccino twine around it. I fussy cut some leaves from another pattern from this line and added them in a diagonal pattern.

Here you can see the dimension the pop dots give it. I like to pop-dot things I am gluing with twine or over twine so that the paper doesn't end up with creases in it or it looking uneven. I also inked the edges of all the paper in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Biscotti.

I hope you join us this week at Just A Scrappin'!!

I also have exciting news! I am a new member on the design team for My Cricut Craft Room!!
Look for my first post for them next week :)

Halloween with Just A Scrappin'

Welcome back friends!!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween yesterday! Halloween is my birthday and I had a lovely day :)

The challenge this week at Just A Scrappin is

HALLOWEEN!!!

Show us what you made yesterday!

Here is a quick and simple card I did
I used a 6x6 paper pad I have. I love those to make cards from since the patterns tend to be smaller than the 12x12 packs. And everything is already coordinated for you!

The stamp is a retired set from Stampin Up! I used Quick Quotes Powder Puff Inks in midnight confession to ink the stamp and the edges of my paper.
The Twinery twine colors are Charcoal and Cappuccino.
The stripe section and the skull section are pop dotted above the rest of the card to add some dimension. I added some stickles (LOVE that stuff!) and I was done!

Hope you like my card and join us this week at Just A Scrappin!

Signs of Full Leaves with Just A Scrappin

Hey everyone!

This weeks challenge at Just A Scrappin is

Signs of Full Leaves - No brown and add some brads

This is harder than I thought it would be! I am so glad Quick Quotes sent me some leaf chipboard. Since that was brown, I sprayed it with some gold glimmer mist. I added some peadpod twine behind the cutout and brads from my stash.

The paper is a quick quotes discontinued line. The sentiment is from Jillibean/Unity
Hope you join us in this great challenge. Fall is righta round the corner!

Same Card 2 Ways! part 1

Hope everyone is having a good week so far! I am now in Tennessee enjoying some vacation time with my boyfriend and his family.

Sometimes when I make a card, I thought it was so cute/easy/fun I want to make another just like it!
So today, I am going to show you the way I took the same design card and make it for 2 occasions.

I saw the original design in a card magazine from a couple months ago and tucked it away as something I wanted to re-create.
The first one started as a Thank You card. I have been getting requests for these at work lately. The glitter paper is from SEI that I have had forever. The twine is of course from the Twinery, in Charcoal. The sentiment is from a Unity/Jillibean Soup set called Apple Cheddar Soup.

Since I need so many birthday cards, I also wanted to make this into a birthday card. The sentiment I wanted to use, from Close to My Heart, is bigger than the thank you. So I stamped in on another panel and moved the placement.

I inked the edges of everything with Quick Quotes powder puff ink in Maraschino Cherry.

Remember:

~Check out Just A Scrappin this week for a great challenge: Celebrate using Pink, White and Blue with pearls or rhinestones. You can see my take on the challenge here

Lots going on this month! Check back Thursday for another version of same card 2 ways!

Cherry Truffle with Quick Quotes

So I have mentioned having some great news. Have I also mentioned I love Quick Quotes?

I am so lucky to get to be a guest designer for them this month! YAY!! Make sure to check out all my posts with them this month for some goodies at the end :)

They sent me tons of awesome product including this versatile line called Cherry Truffle. I look at it an I immediately think vintage so I challenged myself to think outside the box on this one.

I started with the quote "Live in the Moment" and went through some pictures. I love this picture of my boyfriend on his new ATV doing a wheelie. It really just embraces the moment!

I used a piece of paper on one edge of the velum to help hold it down and a flower in the other corner

Here you can see the paper layers I used and a close up of the wheelie in action! I also inked all the pages in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Mocha Mama

I love how this burlap "flower" or star turned out and here is how to make it!

I started with 5 strips of burlap, 5 lengths of twine and a dark velum quote cut into, you guessed it, 5 pieces

Here is what the petal looks like without the velum in it

But I liked a little bit darker look so I added the velum

And some glimmer mist (in Roll Top Desk)

Twisted it back up and hot glued it together. You could also use Beacon's, I just didn't want to wait for all of them to dry

Then I glued my 5 petals together and added some extra burlap in the middle.

I added a large brad and my twine to finish it all off! Later on my page I added some flowers on top of the brad.

I hope you like the page and my mini tutorial. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment and let me know :)

Check back next week for another Quick Quotes project!

Vacation Time with Just A Scrappin

Hello! Hello! Hello!

Been a quiet week from me on here so I could get some organizing and crafting done. I have lots to share with you in the next week!

Let me start by telling you Just A Scrappin' is doing their first blog hop this weekend!! July 14th and 15th. Make sure you start there on Saturday and hop all the way through! Just A Scrappin' is giving away some blog candy and so are some of the individuals, myself included!

On to today's project!

The challenge this week is:

VACATION TIME
Using only the colors blue, white, green and brown

Lucky me, I have this paper line from who else? Quick Quotes! It's called Summertime Blues.
(can you tell I love their stuff lol) I used Blue Moon Powder Puff Ink to accent everything.

I used my Creative Memories Circle cutter for the circles along the bottom. The "Jazz" is from the cricut cartridge Quarter Note and the "& Rib Fest" is from Plantin Schoolbook. The flowers are from my stash.

I haven't scrapbooked for myself in so long so I started pulling out old pictures to do something with. These are from 2010 when my boyfriend and I took a weekend trip to visit his dad. I plan to make this a 2page layout eventually.

Hope you enjoy and join us for this great challenge!

Come back tomorrow for a 2page birthday layout and Saturday for the blog hop!!

So Late Mother's Day Card

Happy 4th of July Everyone!

I would normally post something patriotic today, but I haven't made anything recently. Guess that means tonight I must take lots of pictures to scrapbook later and be able to show you next holiday!

Don't forget to enter the WEDDING challenge over at Just A Scrappin by the end of the night tonight!

On to the card for today!

Well the good news is that I did give this card to my mom on Mother's Day. I was just going through my camera and realized I never shared!

My boyfriend didn't think I could make a nice card in under 10 minutes. Challenge accepted!

I needed two, one for my mom and one for his. I handed him a magazine and told him to pick one he liked and I would work from that.

I used Echo Park's Victoria Gardens 6x6 paper, buttons, ribbon, and flowers from my stash, twine in stone, want2scrap swirl pearls and quick quotes lemonade ink.

I think it turned out great. And since I was hand delivering and not mailing, I could use those big flowers and not worry about it getting torn up while going through the mail sorter :)

Challenge won!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday! I'll be back tomorrow with a manly card!

Home Love Family

Who still loves 2page layouts!?!?!
I do! Good thing I have been doing so many of them lately!
A family page is always needed in a scrapbook. My co-worker requested that I title it Home. Love. Family. I have this DCWV stack that I have wanted to use forever and it just screams family at me. So I pulled out Linen Closet and got to work!
I was inspired by a page I saw on A Page for All Seasons blog that I saved as an idea a long time ago. I used their page as a sketch for this one. I inked everything in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Biscotti and a little bit of Blue Hawaiian.

Here you can see the border on either side of the large photo mat on page 1. There was a pattern sheet in the stack that was all of these scallops. I cut 2 out and added them to the sides as borders!

I usually hate making bows but I felt like this layout really called for it. I wanted it to lay pretty flat so I put my ribbon all the way across the page first, then tied a bow with the same ribbon and glued it on top.

Home, Family and Love were all cut from the Teresa Collins Sophisticated Cricut Cartridge. I layered the blue from the stack with some cream to make the words stand out.

I added some Twine in Cappuccino and Caribbean at the bottom of the small photo mats to add some interest.

I hope you like this soft family layout.

Just A' Scrappin' - First Design Team Challenge!

MY FIRST DESIGN TEAM PROJECT!!

Can you tell I am a bit excited? hehe

Over at Just A Scrappin' they are having a new challenge this week:

WEDDING

The challenge runs for a week so I hope you will join us this week :)

I have a wedding to attend later this year that the color is purple. I had a scrap of this purple rose paper from a previous layout that immediately came to mind. Pretty sure it is really old DCWV paper.

I wanted to something a little non-traditional wedding (which fits the couple) so I did a card made from acrylic instead of cardstock. I found this great vellum quote from Quick Quotes that I layered behind another piece of the pattern paper and made a frame to go around it. Added some flowers, pearl pen dots, twine and glue butterflies covered with purple glitter.

I love the way the butterflies show through to the inside of the card. When doing an acrylic card, you have to cover everything you did from the back to the front. So I cut more purple squares for the inside. I decorated one side with another piece of pattern paper and the other square to write a message to the couple.

Here is the back of the card. You can still see the butterflies which I love. I added the square to the back to hide the glue holding the inside square on.

I hope you like my card and that you will join us for this great challenge. Remember, every entry for the month gets entered to win some blog candy! Who doesn't love blog candy!?

Eternally Yours

Their challenge is to use any past challenge!
So I started looking through the challenges to see what inspired me and I found Challenge #19. Use Red, Black and White!
Those just happen to be my favorite colors :)

I started digging and remembered a wonderful DCWV stack called Immortal Love. So I looked up DCWV's card sketch for this month and got started.

I started out thinking I was going to stay pretty true to the sketch, but my doiley was bigger than I thought it was! It was a white doiley that I inked with Quick Quotes Poweder Puff ink in Midnight Confession and Marchino Cherry. The ribbon is from my stash.

The sticker is from Creative Imaginations. It worked so perfectly with the papers! The bling is from Want2Scrap.

I think I will hold onto this to use for my boyfriend the next time he does something nice. Which, knowing him, will be soon :)

Thanks for joining me this week.

Next week I have another card, another layout and my first design team project!

Have a great weekend :)

Soccer!!!

Hello again!
Happy First Day of Summer!!

Today I am sharing yet another 2page layout done for my co-worker! I still have lots to go :)
Her daughter is a soccer player and is going to college on a soccer scholarship!
I am doing a soccer page for each year of high school so she can list her achievements and awards each year.
I started with her Senior year so she would have it for her graduation party last weekend. As you know from my graduation page, her school colors are purple and gold/yellow.

I needed a page with lots of pictures. Action shots, team shot, pictures of awards and friends, individual shots and anything else she has. So I chose paper that wasn't too busy.

Here is a close up of some of the details. The white squares were inked with Quick Quotes Powder Puff ink in Purple Passion. The dots are a Viva Pearl Pen in Violet.

The Stamped images you see are from Stampin Up! Sporting set. I love that I can use them for any sport. The soccer balls and the Senior are cut from the Sports Mania Cricut Cartridge.

Hope you enjoy the page!
