Love & Joy

A couple wedding/engagement cards to share today.  The sentiments are from Tailored Expressions and I can't say enough good about how yummy these stamps are to use!!!!!  They stamp like butter! If you haven't used their stamps, give them a try.  I haven't been disappointed!

The paper is from a kit club I joined over the summer.  It's run by a gal who used to teach classes at the LSS that I also taught a couple classes.  Boy do I miss that store!!!  Having a chance to meet up with fellow crafty folks for classes and social time.  Ugh, if you have a LSS please, please support it!  You have no idea how much you will miss it should it ever close.

Luckily I've hosted and participated in a couple card swap gatherings lately which at least give me a chance to meet up with folks, play with new & different goodies, share tips, and get some great skinny on the new stuff out there!

For instance, I had no idea that the MISTI existed! Luckily one of the other gals had us use hers to make her card at the swap I was in last month.  I just got one last week and am sooooo happy!  It is going to make mass production of valentines and Christmas cards way way easier.  So, once again, I implore you to patronize your LSS.  The info you get from meet ups at your LSS is invaluable.

Wedding Dresses

Here are a few more engagement & wedding congrats cards I made.  Believe it or not, I had this stamp in the "sell at a yard sale" pile!  Luckily I remembered I had it last May when I was asked to create a few new cards.

Love how easy it is to make this kind of card custom to the brides colors, and still make it light & fun.  The card bases are from LF, colored with copies, the ribbon is from my goodie grab in London, "Mr. & Mrs." is Amuse, "for you" is Avery Elle, and the necklace is Liquid Pearls (remember when we used that stuff on EVERYTHING!).

Oh, I just thought of how cute this would be as a Sweet 16 or Quinceanera cards!  Pardon me whilst I toddle off to create!  LOL!!

Have a marvelous day!!!!

A New Mr. & Mrs.

Oh my goodness, I just love this card.  It's going to be my new go-to design for wedding/bridal shower cards.  One of my co-workers is getting hitched this summer and I was stumped about what to do about a card!!!  There were 4 of us who went in on a gift for her, and yours truly was tapped to create the card.  No pressure! LOL! :)

I used to make a super cute square card, but the company stopped making the card I liked to use for the base.   I could have just created it myself, but it was sooooo easy to use and I took it as a sign to get more creative.  Yatzee, mission accomplished!  I totally lifted this from my Jolly Roger card in a moment of inspiration as I was drifting to sleep two days before I needed the card.  Thank goodness for that moment of creativity!

The image is Hero Arts (I think), the sentiment is Amuse, the card base is MB, and the grey dp is escaping me as I sit poolside in LA.  If you really want to know, leave a comment and I promise to get you the answer when I get back to New England!

Zooming to the chapel

Been there done that!  Two guys who work with my DH had weddings recently.  I finally got a chance to play around with the VW die I got from PTI ages ago!!!  Wasn't it so nice of those fellas to propose to their gals so I could make these cards? LOL! :)
This one uses AMuse paper, spica pens, Copics for shading, and some luscious Copic colored seam binding.  The card base is from cream card stock that I ran through my Cuttlebug with the swiss dot folder.  It is so amazing how just that one folder can bring plain white or cream cardstock to a whole new level!!!
This lil green vroom vroom used the same goodies as above, but the pattern paper is from BG (I *heart* BG!!!!).  The ribbon with this one is AMuse. :)
Hope the couples both liked their cards.  These were so much fun to make!!!  I gotta make some more in other fun colors to have on hand. :)

So what fun stuff have you been holding on to?  Get 'em out and use 'em please.  I'd love to see what you come up with after you dust those goodies off! :)

I'm diving over here with these cards:

Things that Niggle!

My friend Amisha (Gorgeous and Fun) is hosting week four of her "Being Creative" blog party.  This week she wanted to know what are the things that niggle.  Translation- what keeps you from being creative?

That's a mutlipart answer for me.  Sometimes it's simply that sleep overrules creativity.  For me sleep overrules pretty much everything. LOL!  You can only imagine the dread in my house when Spring Ahead rears it's ugly head.  Daylight, schmaylight.  I need sleep!!!  Of course if I spent time outside in the daylight I might have more energy...  ;)
Most often my niggle is getting crippled with indecision.  Maybe I spent so much time with my "I survived the Depression" grandmother that it rubbed off on me, but I hate to use anything without a plan.  The idea of "wasting" the supplies weighs heavy on me.  I mean you have seen the number of creations that came about from my scrap pile!!  Many of the scraps are ones most of my friends would toss without a second thought.  Can you imagine what I go through thinking that I am about to use something, it may not work, AND I'll have to kiss those materials goodbye 'cause it turned out so yucky my DMIL(who really adores all my creations) wouldn't even like it (Hi Barb!).
Then every once in a while my "I'm turning into a hoarder" complex emerges.  I give myself the creative kick in the pants I need and get to town making something- anything- 'cause what's the point in having these cool toys if I never use them?!?  Speaking of using toys- What's your favorite toy?  What keeps you from using it more?

PS- For those of you wondering how my reduced TV for Lent experiment is going- so far, so good!
