Look at these two. They are like litter mates. I have not seen a dog behave with a child the way these two do. Chewie seems to think Benett is his puppy pal. It's all very odd, but they seem to have an understanding.
Grandma and Grandpa came to church with us one morning and this is a typical scene if Jonah sits with us. If you are wondering what he is doing, he is writing math equations on a piece of paper. Yes, he LOVES math.
Just another day in the tub!
And of course, Halloween came and the boys request for costumes was minions. I enjoy making their costumes each year, and while I sometimes look to the internet for inspiration, this year was a bit different. It was incredibly difficult to find minion costumes!
But we pulled it off after many trips to second hand clothing stores. I'm telling you, it's hard to find denim overalls for a 7 year old!

Uncle Collin also came over, as he does most years, to help with the pumpkin carving. I'm so glad I can farm that out to a male in the family! I think the kids are glad too. They like making the drawing on the front, but cutting it out can be a challenge!

Thanksgiving came as well that month, and it was sadly, our last family dinner with everyone living in the same area. And as things sometimes go in these situations, we had an interruption.
We took a walk to take some family photos with everyone together prior to dinner. On the way home, Joel was in sudden pain and it just got worse. So he and his dad headed to the emergency room. In the end, everything was okay, it turned out he was having a Crohn's attack. Which is obviously not okay, but he is okay and nothing bad came of it, physically. We are so thankful he has not experience any since!
While he missed dinner, we made the most of our time together and have lots of nice photos in the meantime.
