Lucky 27

Yesterday on the 27th of May I turned 27 years old and am 27 weeks pregnant (well.. a few days short... but still ironic). This is my lucky year! I think today I will buy a lottery ticket.

Beach - Part 6

We were in total vacation mode all week and got the most fantastic take-out every night to eat in our condo in our pajamas. The last night we were there we decided to branch out and go OUT. After getting ready I came out to find everyone passed out. And I am seriously a 20 minute or less kind of girl.

I got them up and we went out anyway, other than being really tired... we had a blast. I wish I would have taken a picture of all the yummy food we ate.

I love Brodey's face in this one with Jeff.

After dinner we went to a marina to look at some really cool boats. Brock was confused, he kept saying "I ride boat!" and was totally bummed that we were just looking. Up from the marina was a fun outdoor restaurant where we had dessert... this pile of sand was the waiting area. Genius for families with small children, they didn't care if we waited all day, they were having a blast playing in the sand with the other kids.
Back at the condo we were getting them ready for bed and Jeff told Brodey to do something (I can't remember what) and Brodey wrinkled up his forehead at him, pointed his finger and said, "You tripin' homes!" We didn't know how to respond to that.
It was a great vacation, so many more pictures and much more memories... these are just the highlights.

Beach - Part 5

I may be going a little overboard with the photos here... but there is just so much to remember!

The difference in the coloring of the boys skin is so shocking to me. They are brothers yet total opposites. Makes me wonder what this next one will look like.

This one is just for proof that I really was there too. This is my "I feel really nauseous" face.

I love how kids couldn't care less about having sand in every crevice of their bodies.

Beach - Part 4

My boys. Brodey likes to introduce people to Brock, he'll say "This is Bwock... he's my best friend."
This picture to the right makes me laugh. When we first got to our condo we walked down to the pool, my first thought was "is this a pool? or a hot tub?". Brodey comes behind me and says "Daddy! Look at this HUGE pool!!"

This is Brock's favorite pose. We find him in this position a lot. He loves to play peek-a-boo, or as he calls it "Ka-Boo".

Beach - Part 3

This is my most favorite beach picture... I have one of them running toward me too, but I figured I would spare him the embarrassment. (Brodey had is shorts rolled up like that because the sand was scratching his legs... Brock went for no shorts to solve that problem.)

Beach - Part 2

It was shocking how much gear we brought with us to the beach everyday... chairs, shade tent, shovels, buckets, boats, trucks, balls, towels, sunscreen... and much more. All that and all we actually needed was two shovels, a bucket and a big giant hole. They entertained each other for hours and were so fun for us to watch. I brought 3 books with me to the beach... I never even opened one. Watching them play was the absolute best entertainment.

Beach - Part 1

We are back from a week at the beach... we had so much fun and took so many pictures. The boys loved the beach and swimming in the pool.

They both did really great traveling... I turned around once and this is how I found Brock, hands behind his head taking in the scenery. I don't think he was thrilled about me taking his picture. The 6 hour trip took us 8 hours... no surprise there. We took our time and made lots of stops (a 3 year old bladder and a pregnant woman results in many potty breaks). Plus we have a tradition of stopping at Cracker Barrel anytime we travel anywhere further than 45 minutes from our house.

Mother's Day

Jeff took 19 pictures of me with the boys on Mother's day... this seriously is the only one no one is crying in. Brock is getting his 2 year molars and absolutely refuses to have his picture taken.. but we got a little peak of him in this one. I'm trying to prevent Brodey from un-wrapping my wrap dress, in case you were wondering.
We had a great day... the boys got me a letter "b" necklace, the card was signed: Love Jeff, Brodey, Brock and Baby. Jeff told Brock to tell me Happy Mother's Day and he just yelled "NO!!" and hid from me... still made me laugh. We cooked out with some friends for dinner and Brock man was all smiles for Mr. Clint and his camera... go figure!

I added a picture of Brodey and I from Mother's Day 2006... one month before Brock was born. None of us can remember what we did in 2007.. it must not have been very exciting, I don't even have a picture!

More from Brodey...

Brodey: "Mom... did your baby come out last night?"
Me: "Um... no."
Brodey: "Then where did your big belly go?"

At Lowes, sneezing and coughing due to allergies, Brodey says to me: "You don't feel good Mom? We should go home... you can lay in my bed and take a rest. I take care of you." (his face looked so concerned... big giant brown eyes)

We don't make footprints when our feet are wet... according to Brodey we make "paw prints".

I got up in the middle of the night with Brodey (he wasn't feeling well) and put him in our bed. At 5am this is what he was whispering to me:
"Mommy. MOMMY. (his whisper is VERY loud) Bemember (remember) when I broke Brock's egg?" (I'm thinking Easter.. but still not sure)
A few minutes later:
"Mommy. MOMMY. Is this pillow new?" "I wike (like) it."
And my favorite:
"Mommy... daddy is loud."
Our bed is very high off the ground... the top of the mattress is higher than Brock's head. I stood back and watched today as Brodey crawled up there and then grabbed Brock by his shirt and pulled him up on the bed with him. I had been wondering how they were getting up there.

Braves Game

We took the boys to a Braves game over the weekend... Brodey had been as a baby but this was Brock's first game. I learned a few things about baseball games with small children: 1) You don't actually watch the game. 2) You don't stay for the whole game. 3) They WILL touch every imaginable nasty thing they can find. And 4) It's still fun!
I didn't get a good picture of Brock from the game, but here he is on the way down there... he put his hat and sunglasses on himself... he likes to wear them like daddy does.
