4 year well check...

Brock did great for his 4 year well check. He did everything asked of him... jumped on one foot, touched his toes, knew all his colors and shapes, knew that he should eat when he's hungry and get a blanket when he's cold. When asked to draw a picture of daddy he said, "well, how about a picture of Cooper?" and drew a very handsome picture of his cousin. She said he was "advanced" because he drew a body and not just a head with arms and legs. She was extra impressed when he went on to write his name, Brodey's name, Lyla's name and Lucy's name. Smarty pants!
He also had a vision and hearing test. The nurse had him cover one eye and then pointed to pictures for him to name. Little stinker kept peeking and using both eyes. The nurse didn't catch him and I was too busy laughing to let her know. Oh well.. he sees fine! :)
He was very brave for his shots and only cried a little. Tough guy.
He weighs 35 lbs (50th percentile)
and is 39.5 inches tall (50th percentile)
She estimates he will be between 5'11 and 6 feet tall as an adult. I'm 5'8... so weird to think of my little Brock ever being taller than me!
Here's a few pics I took with my phone....
He was being so cute I was almost in tears just thinking about how fast he is growing..

More slip n slide

It has been EXTREMELY hot here lately and the only way we can play outside is if there is water involved. So we bring out the slip n slide a lot! We have a hill in our backyard... makes it so much more fun! (plus... no need for bathing suits!)

Especially when you go flying off the end and roll in the grass!

(Later that night I went to the grocery store and came home to find 37 year old Jeff sliding down the slip n slide in HIS underwear. (not really who I meant when I said no need for bathing suits... we still have neighbors!!) Plus he had added a tarp to the end to make the slide longer. Again.. these kids sure are blessed to have such a fun dad!! (even if he does embarrass me sometimes!) :)

How about put Lightning McQueen tattoos all over our bodies!
And then lay in bead with Buzz Lightyear and watch a movie!

Super Amazing Dad x4

These four kids sure are lucky to have such a fun dad!
Father's day morning Lyla woke up with a snotty nose, so me and the girls stayed home from Church and cleaned out the garage while the boys were gone as a surprise for daddy. Well... I cleaned and she sat on some boards and ate a Popsicle.
Then she came inside and fell asleep in the couch.. rough life for Lyla!
That afternoon Jeff took the boys to see Toy Story 3... they all three had a blast. It was fun day celebrating daddy... we are so blessed to have him!

Brocky is FOUR!

Another year older! The Hall's gave Brock a Buzz Lightyear slip n slide for his birthday this year and we had SO MUCH fun with that thing on his birthday! We put it out first thing in the morning and played all day.

They had a little trouble figuring out how to properly use a slip n slide, so later in the afternoon after our friends had gone home I demonstrated for them. SO FUN! And I was SO SORE the next day! He loved it though so it was totally worth it.

Some great friends showed up with presents and balloons!

And we ate lots of chocolate

Happy Birthday Brocky!!

I love Saturday mornings.

2 month old Lucy Rae

Wow... two months goes by FAST. Lucy is doing GREAT. She started sleeping through the night (7pm to 7am) at around 9 weeks... around that same time she started rolling over from her back to her stomach. Unfortunately she didn't really like being on her stomach once she got there and would cry and cry until someone flipped her back over. Even though I don't have to feed her in the middle of the night anymore, it is not uncommon for me to have to get up and flip her back over several times a night because she gets so upset. I'm looking forward to her either learn how to roll from stomach to back, or to just LIKE being on her stomach!
She is as sweet as she can be and really likes to be held and snuggled. Brock can make her laugh the hardest... and at the same time probably scares her the most! Brodey and Lyla fight over who gets to hold her and she has developed several nicknames. Brodey calls her "Lucy goosey", Brock: "precious", and Lyla: "baby Juicey"
Several people have mentioned she looks long for her age... I didn't know. She started out as our "shortest" baby at 19.5 inches. However at her 2 month well check I learned that she is in the 97th percentile for length. Whoa! So yes friends... she IS long.
She now weighs 12 lbs 12 oz (90th percentile)
and is 24 inches long (97th percentile)

Jeff took the boys to Home Depot one Saturday morning and they got to build these little toys. They were so proud and had so much fun... crafty little guys!
