Birthdays
Being with my two favorite people on my birthday in our favorite park was perfect. Seri had soccer practice and Jett and I explored...in the rain.
Birthdays aren't as exciting as they were when I was little. There weren't any balloons. No candles. No big presents. Just another regular day. Now as I am older and a Mama it just makes me realize more how lucky I am to have my family and friends. A walk in the park with my loves is all this Mama needs.

Spring Cleaning Part 1
Today was a day of PLAY for the kiddos
while I started spring cleaning. It's so overwhelming how much can/should/needs to be cleaned and organized. It sometimes gives me anxiety. I have this itch to get rid of stuff. It's amazing how much stuff you end up with in your life. Full closets and drawers are starting to make me a little wacko. So, I pulled everything out of both of my closets and my dresser and re-organized and downsized.
Holy Cow! 4 hours and many many bags of clothes, shoes and purses for donation later it is finished. Phew! It is such an overwhelming project that I hate doing it. But it feels so nice to have it done.
I hung up my new pictures in my bedroom. I found them at a thrift store last weekend. I want to make a gallery of vintage flower prints on my wall.
It's always fun to have something to look for on my thrifting adventures.
Just before bed there was a jam session.
Jett on the piano and Seri on the forks.
Hilarious.

Some Firsts
Seri is reading her first chapter book.
Jett drew Bert.
I found it on the counter this morning.
I love it.
He also has taped his first pictures and signs on their bedroom door.
Some say KEP OT
(that's "keep out" in kid writing)
Another one says
CAT PARTY.
Seri helped him with that one.
That boy. He's hilarious.

Rainbows
We decided to do some rainbow activities today for St. Patrick's Day and spring.
It was a beautiful afternoon and the sun was shining in the corner of our little kitchen.
We tried a cute idea from pinterest.
They wouldn't stop giggling when I was painting their foot. So funny.
They were both ready to be done with Mama's Art School and do their own thing.
complete with a turtle, puffer fish, starfish, crab and octopus.
Seri made a flower garden with a butterfly that she can't wait to take to school for sharing tomorrow.

Jett was trying to ride Clara this afternoon.
She bucked him off right after I took this picture.
"That was AWESOME Mom!" ~Jett

Chocolate Covered Smiles
Did you know today is Oreo's 100th Birthday?
It is. We celebrated.
We have chocolate covered teeth to prove it.
*********************************
Today was CrAzY hair day at Jett's preschool.
He went with a purple mohawk.
I'm in love with yellow lately. I can't get enough.
I found these awesome yellow lamp shades at Target. Love them.
I finally finished my first project inspired by pinterest. A subtle way to ask people to take off their shoes.
One of my favorite times of day is right now. It's 7:40. The kids and I just spent the evening together drawing, having dinner, making lunches for tomorrow, setting clothes out, reading books and they are already fast asleep. The only sound I hear is the dishwasher and everything is calm. Henry is snuggled up with Seri and Clara is under my feet. I finally get to sit down and relax. The first time since I got up this morning.
Being a Mama is hard work.
Right ladies?
I wouldn't change it for the world.

Cozy.
I love our home. It's bright. It's simple. It's filled with pictures, art, pets, music, blankets, pillows, books, food and lots and lots of love.
It's cozy. It's home.
It's our favorite place to be.

Goodbye Afro
We said goodbye to the afro today.
He decided he was done.
It was fun while it lasted.
Usher's hair was our inspiration.
Jett LOVES him some Usher.
Funny boy.

He's lookin' SUPER CUTE!
Even more than normal.

so sweet.
I got this as a present the other day after it got quiet in the basement for a few minutes. They came running upstairs with a folded up piece of paper stuffed in a little envelope.
Seri was sure to tell me Jett helped with some letters.
Sweethearts.
Dear Mom, I hope you know that we love you. Love, Seri and Jett
He snuck his sister's sleeping cap.
Cutie.
Man, I could watch him sleep for hours.
