Fishing with Papa
Today we went fishing with my Dad. Just the 4 of us in a little boat on a beautiful quiet lake. It was amazing...even if we didn't catch any fish. We talked, played in the water, had a picnic, collected bugs and rocks, listened to country music with the windows down and enjoyed our time with my Dad.
Tonight I lay here exhausted and sun burned in a quiet house of sleeping children, hearing only the sound of a sprinkler in the backyard. One of my favorite childhood memories is laying in bed on a summer night listening to the sprinkler. I guess I'm recreating that for my kiddos. Love.
*(Mowing the lawn when we got home was probably not my brightest idea).
We are checking off A LOT of adventures off our summer list.
