The bus got here about 20 minutes late but Daniel got off with a big smile.
We were greeted with a hug and an eagerness to talk about his day! Yay!!
Here are the highlights that I can remember: He said lots of things but this sums up the day, I think:
-He said that the bus ride was long but he enjoyed sitting with two neighbor boys (I didn’t know that three kids could fit in those seats!!)
-He did lots of “work” regarding the color red. They played with red play dough, read Clifford books, made a red Clifford, etc, etc.
-He ate lunch in the cafeteria. And he requested to buy lunch tomorrow. (I talked him into waiting until Friday for pizza day)
-They had music class today where he had a turn to play the piano. He liked that.
-They went outside for recess.
-He made a new friend named Jillian (she sits next to him in their classroom)
-He brought home a behavior log which marks behavior issues and he had no marks against him today. (he was able to tell me in detail about another boy who had issues today… I told him not to hang with that kid) haha
I asked him questions about normal routine things… hall passes, bathroom locations, lunch money etiquette, etc etc. He was able to answer all things pertaining to classroom structure in general.
I was THRILLED to get so much info out of that kid.
It must have been a great day for him.
