ONjA Jewellery - Empowers Women To Make A Difference

More than a unique and prestigious jewellery line, ONjA Jewellery is about the larger vision behind the beautiful jewellery masterpieces presented to women in the world - the commitment to lend a hand to women in developing countries to raise them up as entrepreneurs so that they can transform their lives.

With this commitment, ONjA Jewellery contributes US$25 for each piece of jewellery sold to a woman under KIVA, a non-profit organisation that shares the same vision. Through KIVA, ONjA's funds are channelled to women who need the capital funds to kick-start their entrepreneurial dreams.

Inspired by Asia's beautiful surroundings, the pieces carry vivid colours that instill the richness and biologically diverse Asian tropical landscape. The type of woman to wear such bold statement pieces is not afraid to stand out of the crowd. She's an individual, seductive, quietly confident and works hard in everything she feels passionately for. ONjA Jewellery is available at Malaysia's multi-brand accessories boutique, Liberte Suria KLCC and Liberte AMCORP Mall.

Terry Fox run: 18th February 2011
Location: Abu Dhabi Corniche
History: This is the 16th such run in the UAE

One morning some months ago, we went for a walk at the Corniche ... and witnessed the Marathon of Hope :-) I must make an effort to actually participate next year!

Here's some history of Terry Fox, how the run began ... and my first experience with the run back in Kuala Lumpur 3 years ago. Time flies!

The t-shirt I bought ... I like it!

The Easter Story, Bukit Jalil KL

Two events to share :-)

Special Easter Worship, Calvary Church
Sunday, 12 April 2009 at 10am
Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil KL

And,

10-12 April 2009 at 8pm
Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil KL
The Easter story...

It is the story of Jesus Christ who brought hope to many and continues to do so today! This story is told through a captivating 21st century bedazzling musical filled with songs, dances, and heart-moving dramatic elements.
‘The Easter Story: He Is Alive!’, suitable for the entire family, is enhanced by creative lighting design, visualized by an avant garde young creative team of Calvarites. From the majestic throne of heaven, to a manger in Bethlehem, to the streets of Jerusalem, to the cross on Golgotha – here we find the true story of Easter.

To be staged for three consecutive nights, April 10 to 12, 2009, in Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium, ‘The Easter Story: He Is Alive!’ features songs packed with captivating lyrics and uplifting melodies such as ‘Go Change The World’, ‘Trust His Heart’ and ‘Glory Glory!’. This musical is an adaptation of the original musicals “From Heaven’s Throne” and “Let All Heaven Rejoice” created by the renown composer & arranger, David T. Clydesdale. This production, with free admission, is brought specially to you by Calvary Church Kuala Lumpur who in the past years has produced other well-known Easter musicals such as ‘Rejoice It’s Easter’, ‘A Timeless Love’, ‘A Father’s Heart’ and ‘Alive In Power’. ‘The Easter Story: He Is Alive!’ revisits the 2001 ‘Rejoice It’s Easter’, which garnered more than a full house on its final presentation night at Putra Stadium. That year’s presentation drew a crowd close to 19,000 over the three nights.

To help the audience understand how the Easter Story is relevant to us today, Rev. Tan Sri (Dr.) Prince Guneratnam, Senior Pastor of Calvary Church, will deliver hope-filled messages every night. These messages which will also be interpreted into Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia concurrently, will bring positive changes to one’s life, regardless of age. In the past, many visitors, both foreign and locals, have found Calvary’s Easter musicals interesting and meaningful. The public is advised to come early. Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium is easily accessible by LRT.

And in conjunction with Easter Sunday, April 12, Calvary will also be hosting an Easter Celebration Service at 10am at the same venue. Admission for this special service is also free.

Helping Angels at work :-)

The smiles say it all!

Here's where I tutored all evening :-)
Helping Angels ... We are looking for interested volunteers to help tutor 13 quick-witted young individuals residing in TRINITY CHILDREN CENTRE with their school work (mainly English and Maths). We aspire to increase their excellence in learning and improve their studies, while we develop strong friendships based on love and trust. There are 12 primary students and 1 secondary students between 8 - 14 years old. Most of the children are proficient in English. For angels who are seriously interested in helping out, it isn't necessary for you to be a top grade student. Although this event is focused on developing merits in their studies, we still look for individuals who love working with children, thrives on making them smile and laugh - to guide them towards educational achievements and to grow through bonding friendships. If the above sounds like something you might enjoy doing, then this might just be a most fulfilling way to spend 2 hours on a Thursday evening!!
If you are new to this, you will not have any problems fitting in as you can quickly pick it up with the help of the more seasoned volunteers and discover that you possess some unused skills. The common result of being involved in this type of angel activity is the personal joy in sharing whatever we have been so blessed to have. Even if you are not sure whether you can commit on a longer term basis, just come and have a first-hand experience to see how you could fit in other ways besides tutoring, to discover other helpful activities that may not require your committed attendance.
We look forward to meet you, do bring a friend if you are shy to come by yourself. Thank you for sacrificing your precious time for this!
