Doctor Who - Test Animation For Evil of The Daleks and The Tenth Planet
Here is something I have stumbled on that has been making the rounds on the different Doctor Who websites lately. It is test animation from Quiros who animated the missing parts for The Ice Warriors which starred Patrick Troughton. Here is a video of Evil of The Daleks which is used as test animation and not for a DVD of the missing episode plus a piece for The Tenth Planet which went to another company and which has been released last fall on DVD.

Doctor Who - The Tenth Planet DVD Review
by Ken Parker
This is amazing. Here I am reviewing one
of the most important episodes of Doctor Who which was just released on DVD. I am listening to the music from “The Tenth
Planet” CD and earlier saw The Adventures in Space and Time
Trailer, featuring a quick scene from the making of “The Tenth
Planet.” And my 5 year old daughter actually watched part of this story with me (first time she watched some of Doctor Who. How cool is that?

00:24:23:01 COMPANION PIECE
00:03:16:13 (DOCTOR WHO - THE TENTH PLANET - DVD EXTRAS - WILLIAM HARTNELL INTERVIEW)
00:09:04:04 (DOCTOR WHO - THE TENTH PLANET - DVD EXTRAS - BLUE PETER)
It has been confirmed that the 4th episode will be the reconstructed animated episode. What is of most interest in all this is the William Hartnell Interview. Earlier this week one of the Restoration team had stated that one of the extras was something that most believed had no longer existed and so it is probable that the interview is what he was referring to. The interview will be available as a 3 minute video clip on the DVD which was taken a few months after Hartnell's final story, The Tenth Planet was aired. This is certainly a great find as there aren' t too many interviews with him out there, if any!
The DVD is out in the UK on November 18 and no word on the North American release date.

Doctor Who The Tenth Planet Missing Episode 4 To Be Animated
The missing episode 4 for William Hartnell's last story The Tenth Planet will be animated. The DVD release is scheduled for later in 2013 and snippets of the animation was shown at the Gallifrey One convention taking place right now in Los Angeles. The Tenth Planet is of major historical significance to Doctor Who as the first regeneration took place in that story and it was also the first appearance of the Cybermen. Good news indeed for classic Doctor Who fans.
You can see pictures of the animation at the link below.

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary: The Tenth Planet - Far From Over by @Paul_Bowler
The Tenth Planet
Far From Over
By Paul Bowler
Born in London, 1908, William Hartnell grew up during a dark time of war and social poverty. His admiration for Charlie Chaplin inspired him to become an actor, and in 1926 he got this first job working with Sir Frank Benson’s Shakespearean Company. Further parts in theater quickly followed, along with small film roles, until his career really took off in 1943 with his memorable role as the army officer in The Way Ahead. Carol Reed’s film opened the door to numerous film roles for Hartnell, often receiving star billing, but the actor was frustrated by the “tough guy” roles he was always offered, preferring the comedy and farce of his early career.
However, fate would soon intervene when Hartnell’s roles in the Granada TV series The Army Game and Lindsay Anderson’s film, This Sporting Life (1963), led to Verity Lambert considering William Hartnell for the role of the Doctor. The rest, as they say, is history. Over the next three years William Hartnell would help forge the role of the Doctor, a mysterious time traveler an outcast from his own people, a glorious - if somewhat cantankerous - grandfather from another world. Hartnell adored his time as the Doctor, becoming a hero to millions of children as he took his companions on fantastic adventures in time and space: visiting great historical figures like Marco Polo and King Richard the Lionheart, bizarre aliens like the Zabri and Sensorites appeared with strange cultures and customs, they experienced the futility of trying to alter history and the Aztec civilization in 15th Century Mexico, even turning on each other when the TARDIS drifted towards the edge of destruction, and they were always ready to fight the intergalactic menace of the Daleks which returned time and again to keep viewers enthralled as the Doctor valiantly fought them wherever their evil plans of universal domination threatened to destroy every living thing that dared to stand in their way.
