It takes about an hour to prepare including the cool time. And the 15 minutes to prepare.
Here is what you will need:
- 1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix.
- 1 tsp. of brown cinnamon
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup of water (I added a bit more because the batter seemed dry)
- 1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup of sliced almonds
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. milk
*I used blueberry pie filling instead of cherry, but you can use any kind of pie filling.
Before you start preping the batter make sure to preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, to cut down on prep time. Also grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan.
Beat the cake mix, cinnamon, sour cream, 3 eggs, and water with a mixer until well blended. Then pour the mix into the greased and floured pan.
Then top with the pie filling. If you want you can push the filling down to the bottom of the cake so that it's a surprise what kind of filling it is.
Bake for 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Take it out then sprinkle with the almonds.
Mix the sugar and mild and drizzle over the cake.
*If the glaze seems to be to thick, add a little more milk.
Let cool completely.
