I'm a terrible blogger. Once I get behind, I'm overwhelmed by the long post that I know lies ahead and I just continue to put it off... which just makes it worse. So here's just a quick recap of what I've been up to and I'll do my best from here on out to keep this a little more up to date!

I graduated from UT Dallas!! Just call me Kristen Desjardins, M.S., CFY-SLP! (I love putting all those letters after my name - I worked damn hard for them and they make me feel important!)

I'm so grateful that my whole family came up to spend the weekend with me! They're amazing!!

We had a DELICIOUS dinner at Maggiano's to celebrate and the waitress surprised me with a free dessert! :)

I started my very first semester of grad school with these girls and we developed an amazing bond over the past 2 years - I can't believe how fast this journey flew by, but I couldn't have done it without them!

This summer I'm working for an AMAZING family!! Twin girls, Reagan and Riley, who will be 4 in July, and little Rebecca who will be 2 in July. They're absolutely adorable and I just love getting to spend time with them every day!! I spend 8-9 hours a day with them just helping out however I can. Sometimes I'm home with some/all of the kids and sometimes I'm out taking them places with their Mom. I couldn't ask for a better way to spend my summer! I moved into my new apartment with Ryan and it's been great! She cracks me up! We went up to the big pool party last Saturday that The Village hosts every weekend and it was a BLAST! I forsee many more of those in our future! :)

And the majority of my evenings consist of a nice run around the lakes behind my apartment followed by this:

And that's my life in a nutshell...really couldn't ask for much more!

My blog is in desperate need of a recent post updating you on everything that's happened the past few weeks... unfortunately, this will not be it.

I need to update you about graduation, my summer job, and moving... but at the moment I'm completely exhausted and need to get my tired self to bed.

I'm off to go dream of the hot cable man that visited my apartment and flirted with me today! ;) jk. Clearly I'm in need of a date when the cable man is my current prospect. However, I don't think I'm desperate enough to start being interested in men whose job pays hourly... yet! (I hope I'm not insulting anyone's loved ones who may be cable men or women!)

Here's what my "end of grad school to-do list" looked like on Sunday:

-2 more days of internship
-Dysphagia final exam
-Public school methods class
-pick up graduation tickets
-take-home final for public school methods
-meeting with my advisor to sign off on all my requirements

That's right, folks! I'm DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!!!!!! I have met all the requirements for graduation and will never be a student again!!! (Sorry Mom and Dad, no Ph.D. for this girl!) From now until graduation on May 16th it's smooth sailing! Just have a "check-out" meeting next Thursday to make sure we have all of our paperwork in order, but that's nothin'!

I really can't even believe it. I remember the first day of grad school like it was yesterday... it's amazing to think about how much I've learned/grown over the past 5 semesters! As excited as I am right now, I really don't think it's hit me that I'm really graduating in two weeks and I will NEVER have to take another test ever again! (Well, assuming I pass the test I took last Saturday - eek!)

I got a call from HR at Plano ISD today, faxed them a letter of intent from UTD that I am in fact graduating, and they told me that they are officially moving forward with paperwork so that they can get my official offer on the table! YAY!

I'd say I'm off to celebrate with a few drinks, but I did that Tuesday and Wednesday nights... so I think I'm headed for a celebratory NAP! Just because I can! :)

I can't wait for my best friend to be here tomorrow! A whole weekend with my favorite person in the world!!!!
