Subject title appropriate because this week, some of the boys' favorite highlights of the high adventure were DAD'S "YOUR MOM" JOKES. Oh my gosh.
So this week, the kids have been doing our schedule. Here they are playing in the park together for workout time. I've been so proud of how they've responded to our summer routine.
MY MOM sent me this that I wrote when I was little. =)
I was expressing all the love I possibly could for them. =)
Connor had a tooth saga this week, and finally let his mommy pull it out, the tooth fairy came... that took stuck out at us for so long and caused so much dismay. =)
We packed up Morgan & Dad & sent them to Escalante & Coyote Gulch.
And we had the "ianny's" and redheads over for a late night. =) waterballoons, etc.
I need to just send this so you have time to read it. =) I'll put my message to you on here for posterity's sake:
The kids are going to get up in a couple minutes, but I can tell you right now that one thing we have been talking about is when Nephi warned his brothers to not touch him, and then the Lord told him to reach out and shock his brothers. We talked about how Laman & Lemuel had to be shown over & over that the Lord was in charge: don't touch me, but now I'm actually going to go ahead of my own power and show you I'm in charge. Sam already knew; he didn't have to be shocked. He would have built the ship even with no manifestation of power. We need to be like Sam: follow our leaders without needing an explanation or reiteration of who is in charge.
Also, the wicked take the truth to be hard: If we find ourselves being repulsed by anything truthful or light, we need to recognize it as a red flag that something is wrong in our lives. People who don't want to give up their wicked ways, run from the truth. When they hear the words of the gospel, they put up a mental wall; they want you to stop talking. We have to listen to the hard-to-hear truth, and pick ourselves up and be brave to obey and make a change.
