countryside cottage finish

This is a 2004 Joann block of the month that I have had for some time. I needed to finish it. The colors are rich and lovely. I have a couple in mind that I want to gift this. It is queen size. I have many joann quilts block of the months that I bought each year. I was so excited when I found them. The fabric was included and precut. The instructions had cute little hints that were actually helpful. I bought them each year, and then they have waited in a project box. Some I haven't even opened.

This was one of my one monthly goals to quilt and finish. I'm trying get more of the quilts quilted.

This is also a finish for my PHD 2020

purple lantern block

I have another tiny tuesday block finished from the rainbow scrap challenge. I used a batting design board to lay the pieces the way I wanted them to go. I think the block was called lantern.

I sewed each row. The smallest purple went with the largest neutral, and so on.

And, then, I sewed the rows together. It needed a trim.

This blocks is set with a straight border finishing at 7 inches

We have had a big snow with single digit temperatures, We are not used to it this so early. But, it is so pretty, and, the colder it is, the more likely to include sunshine.

tiny blocks

I think these blocks are so cute. I made these last week for the tiny Tuesday sampler from the rainbow scrap challenge. I am a little behind in my blocks.

I am enjoying sewing the wonky courthouse blocks in the evening at my treadle. As long as I have the strips in the right size, I can get them done quickly. I often run out of neutral strips, and then, I have to go on a scavenger hunt to find more of them.

Today is a beautiful fall day with actual sunshine, and I have a quilt group meeting tonight that I am looking forward to attending.

tiny tuesday

Hooray, at least until tomorrow, I am caught up with the tiny Tuesday blocks for the rainbow scrap challenge. The delay was mostly fear of applique with the melon. It wasn't so bad. Perhaps by the end of this sampler, I won't think twice about it.

We had a dose of spring yesterday

It is so pretty, especially since we know Spring always comes.
