Reception

Figured I better finally post about Austin's wedding reception. It only happened almost a year ago. Its not that I haven't had time, I have had trouble accessing pictures. A week after Austin's wedding and the reception in Boise, we had a reception in Utah. It was held in our back yard. It was beautiful. I have to say my favorite part of the reception at our house was the groom's cakes. We did 3 and they were designed around what Austin loves" God, Country and Farming!

We served pie since Austin loves PIE! We taste tested pies for months, but finally decided to get pies from Lehi Bakery. My sweet Step Mother in law, Kathy, helped me make some homemade strawberry pies for the even too. I was so lucky to have Tom and Kathy with us for a week to help us get ready. It was a blessing. Nonnie and Papa were able to come to the Boise wedding, but not the one at our house. My family came to both.

It was a beautiful event and a happy day. I am glad it turned out so well. Oh yes, as something creative, Alex made them a bench to use on their patio or in their garden, that people could sign and give their well wishes. It turned out great and was such a personal touch!

The bride and groom could not find an apartment so they are moving into our basement apartment for 6 months. That will help them save some money too.

Happily ever after

NieNie Dialogues: April 15, 2019 Christian is the most important person in Stephanie's life. She made this post about him. She wrote about how much she loved him and he loved her. Every year she dedicates a song to him as they enter another year as husband and wife. She said, "Everyday I pray to God, thanking him for Christian. I thank God that he is my husband, my protector, and greatest defender. I thank God that Christian loves and respects me.......And I thank God that I will be with Christian forever and even to infinity and beyond." I am not married, but I related to this post because I love my dad. He is my protector and my provider. He really takes care of our family. He is so great. I can tell my mom loves him too. Even though it embarrasses me, I love to watch my parents hug and kiss. I am glad we are sealed together. After reading this post, I decided I needed to write in my journal characteristics I want in a husband. These are the things I wrote: Must l...

Did I just hear that?

Today I was at W*lM*rt and I had the WEIRDEST experience. I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about it. I was at the self check out and the worker that handles those came over to Nini and put her hands on Nini's cheeks and literally put her nose against Nini's nose. Okay....don't know you, plus it is serious cold and flu season. I pulled the cart back quickly. The lady was talking to Nini and asking her how old she was and telling her how cute she is (she is that). Then she said to me, "where did you get her from?" That question threw me. I have been asked where she is from, what nationality she is, but never, "where did you get her from?" I said China, but was thinking, "does she think I got her from a store or something?" This was just the beginning of what was the MOST outrageous conversation I have ever been apart of. She asked me her name. I told her and she said, "Thank you! It makes me so happy to hear that name."...

Sisters

NieNie Dialogues: April 18, 2019 Stephanie relied a lot on her sisters during her accident. In this post she wrote about how much she used to look like her sister Lucy and how her daughter Claire reminds her of Lucy. She said, "I see myself in my daughters even if my daughters don't necessarily physically see me in them. And I see myself in my sisters, and am grateful my daughters have a physical reminder of me in my sisters." She expressed her love for her sisters and was grateful for the part they played in her life. Since Stephanie loved her sisters so much, I wrote my sister a note of how much I love and appreciate her. I only have one sister and she is pretty great. I loved how Stephanie hoped her girls would see what she used to look like before her accident. That's a great comfort to Stephanie because it will help her daughters know in a way where they got their looks from. I don't look like my sister, obviously, but it doesn't seem to matter to her...
