Somewhere In Between: October 2007

So, immediately after Cheryl completed her personality test results (with frightening precision), she wanted me to take the test. I feel I should explain why my results have not been posted. I took the test and failed. Twice.

The first time through I was identified as ENTP - The Originator.
ENTPs are logical, innovative, curious and downright inventive. They see possibilities for improvement everywhere and possess the ability to understand complex concepts. ENTPs are introspective and carefree nonconformists. They often neglect the more common areas of life while pursuing new solutions. ENTPs can be good conversationalists and exciting company.

Not completely accurate.

Cheryl wanted to help me answer the questions the second time and we got: ISTP - The Craftsman.
ISTPs are adventurous and independent. They like to figure out how things work. They have great mechanical and technical skills. They live in the "here and now" which makes them adaptable and spontaneous. They like to keep busy and are action-oriented. ISTPs thrive on new and exciting situations.

I think the only thing that got more accurate was the introverted part.

Finally, we just read the descriptions and decided that I best fit INTP - The Engineer.
INTPs are logical, individualistic, reserved, and very curious individuals. They focus on ideas, theories and the explanation of how things work. They are especially adept at discussions and debate. They have the ability to focus intently on a subject. They appreciate and respect intelligence in others.

I think the additional descriptions provide more support for this personality type.

Hello all. Sorry for the long delay in updating, however we have had a busy week, a week of travel and adjustments. Last weekend we headed to Little Rock to visit Amy & Barrett and Searcy to meet with Rachael Milligan (who with her husband Matt were so kind to bring 3 of our suitcases back from London with them in July. Thanks again!).

We had a cheap, delicious lunch at Mi Ranchito on Saturday and then toured Harding's campus which I must say is looking really nice. Its amazing to me how much has been improved in the 4 years since we last visited, not least of which is the Heritage. This picture below is the new lobby area at the Heritage. Pretty impressive.

We also stopped by the renovated Lilly pond for a family photo (we don't have very many of these).

After our walking tour, we made our way to Midnight Oil for some tasty beverages sitting on the new deck and just enjoyed the beautiful weather and improved green space at Race St.

Saturday was spent playing with my sister's new Nintendo Wii which was sooo much fun!! We played Wii Sports and Wii Play quite a bit. Wii Tennis became our favorite as all four of us rotated palying each other, with Wii Bowling a close second.
A photo just before Caleb's bedtime on Saturday.

A brief recap from Monday to Friday--Cheryl started her full-time job as Program Coordinator for a child abuse prevention program for a huge agency and Caleb started his new daycare. It was a very busy week adjusting to our new schedules and routines, plus Caleb struggled with a new place. He largely had difficulty to the noise in his room. There are several other toddlers in his room and he is one of the youngest at 13 months and there is a lot more going on than when he and Cheryl were at home (or even hanging out with the Chapmans) He has been adjusting better each day and hopefully will be making friends very soon.

By Friday we were all ready for the weekend, just hanging out spending time together. We will try to do better and update with a little more frequency.

I've already told about my love for vacuuming. Caleb, too, has always been attached to the vacuum cleaner. Anytime I turn it on, he comes running and wants to help. So, for his birthday Aunt Amy and Uncle Barrett got him his own vacuum cleaner. Up until recently, it was still just a little too big for Caleb since he was not so steady in the walking category. (Though his cousins have all had a blast "vacuuming" my home repeatedly.) He has, however, always loved spinning the part that plays songs and music and has been totally content to do that and dance. Now that he's mobile on his feet, he has begun his love of vacuuming as well. And he seems to get so much joy out of it! Just thought you might like to see my little guy helping out around the house. (Though, to be fair, I think his FAVORITE chore right now is "helping" "fold" the clean clothes. And by "fold," I mean jump in the giant pile of warm clothes straight out of the dryer and scatter them all over the room while laughing and squealing.)

*NOTE: For those of you who have been all to eager in the critiquing of my spelling since I have returned from England, please note the American spelling of "favorite" in this post. It took A LOT of effort on my part, but I am slowly trying to readapt the more acceptable form of spelling in this country.

How do you wind up "deserving" to win the game during the last 30 seconds on the clock? I can't believe it.
As the ESPN commentator pointed out: how about Nick Folk? 2 career distance game winning field goals in a row!!

I guess this post means I am becoming a fan. I fought it as long as possible, but come on I'm in Cowboy Country.
**************************
Is it just me or does the calling time out at the last possible second before the opposing team attempts a game-winning field goal just seem sleazy?

Sorry, guys, but we still don't have a functional camera. Best Buy had said we should have had one of our cameras back by earlier in the week but we haven't heard anything yet. We haven't yet sent the other one in.

And let's face it...it's just not as much fun to blog when you can't put photos to accompany it.

I will, however, comment on the fact that I'm a little freaked out by the fact that several of the storage units in the area sell ice for freakishly cheap. Why do they need to sell ice? The only reason I have been able to come up with is that people are storing bodies in their storage units and need the ice so that they do not start to smell. This freaks me out a little!

Please tell me if you know of another reason for storage units to sell ice.
