Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / February 2026

The Crafty Elves are here with their February inspiration. Michael will be taking a break this month but will be back in March . Our weather here is finally starting to warm up a bit ( and by that, I mean above freezing . ) It's sad when 50 degrees is a warm temperature !! But I am certainly not complaining .

For my card this month, I inked up the Catherine Pooler Designs  Anna in the City images . I also used the matching dies.  I was excited to find both of these on sale online .

  • I inked up the Anna image and small purse with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The images were die-cut with the matching dies .
  • I colored the images with my COPICS .
  • I adhered a scrap piece of red patterned paper to the top portion of a dark green card base.
  • The Anna image was adhered to the left side of the patterned paper.
  • I popped up the purse with foam tabs on her left hand .
  • A Hello December planner sticker was placed to finish the card .

This was a fun card to make and was quick to color. I can see myself making more with these images with a Fall palette . Take a few minutes to check out what Lisa has created for the month. You can find her over at her blog - Life of a BZscrapper . Thanks for checking us out as we continue making our holiday cards each month to inspire you . We will be back in March .

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / January 2026

Well, here we are .. The holidays have past us by and now we can get our crafty selves in gear for more holiday card inspiration throughout 2026 !! Lisa, Michael and I will post cards each month on the 25th and hope you will follow along with us and maybe even start early to create some of your own.

For my January cards, I used a stamp set by Penny Black - Baubles & Boughs .I have had this set for awhile and just never inked it up , It's an easy stamp to  color and create with , There are 4 stamps - the branch and 3 ornaments .

  • I stamped the bough then placed the ornaments and stamped them also, using my MISTI . I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The image was colored with my COPICS.
  • I die-cut the 2 stamped panels with a Stitched Square die .
  • Using card bases from a Recollections  boxed set, I placed the stamped panels using foam tabs .
  • A Tim Holtz sentiment sticker was placed on each completed stamped panel .

It feels good to know I will once again have a stash of cards to send when December arrives. I also address envelopes ahead of time which makes the process of holiday mailing even easier !! I hope you will follow the links below to see what Lisa and Michael have created.

Thanks so much for starting off a new year with all of us .It's fun to create holiday cards all year long . See you next month . If you are in one of the areas dealing with the wrath of Winter Storm Fern, stay warm and creative !!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / January 2026

We are at the start of a new year and Celeste and I will be back again with our Coffee & Cards collaboration each month . Our theme for January is MAIL . I love sending and receiving mail, so this was the perfect inspiration for me .

For my card, I used a sweet Colorado Craft Company set - Hedgehog Day . This has the cutest images.

  • I stamped the Hedgehog image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink  and the sentiment with Memento Lady Bug ink - both on white cardstock .
  • The image was colored with my Copic markers.
  • I used dies from Paper Rose - Lots and Lots of Rectangles - to die cut the main image and the sentiment .
  • I adhered a piece of Scrapbook.com Valentine patterned paper to an A2 card base.
  • The main stamped image was adhered at the top of the patterned paper.
  • The sentiment was popped up below the main image with foam tabs.
  • I placed a red clay heart on the envelope to complete my card .
I think this is such a sweet card and I made 2 more to send out for Valentines Day . I can't wait to see what Celeste created for our MAIL theme. You can check out her card over at her blog - Crafting Junky .

This month I am drinking a large hot cup of Mardi Gras King Cake coffee - it tastes like vanilla and cinnamon !! Very delicious . I retired October 1,2025 and my co-workers gave me this fun travel mug to celebrate my last shift. I use it a lot !! I do miss having coffee with my co-workers during my shifts at the hospital. But it's so nice to be able to enjoy my coffee at home in the kitchen while relaxing and watching the squirrels and birds in my yard . And not constantly listening for alarms, making phone calls and monitoring 24 patients !! It is definitely BLISS 💓

Thank you for starting out your year with us . We look forward to sharing more inspiration with you throughout 2026 . Until next month, Stay Creative ..

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / November 2025

I really cannot believe that it is already November and Christmas is only 30 days away.. I have been retired since 0ctober 1 and still have a hard time remembering what day of the week it is or if I have to work tomorrow or on the weekend. It's taken some getting used to but I sure will be glad to not have to work any holidays this season.

For my card this month, I used Aubree Girl by Angie Blom , This is such a fun holiday design and easy to color . I hope you like it as much as I do .

  • I stamped the Aubree Girl image on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Aubree was colored with my COPICS .
  • I cut the image panel with a Rectangle Big and Little Pierced Chain Die .
  • On a bright green card base, I adhered a piece of vertical striped holiday paper .
  • I popped up the completed stamped panel with White Dimensionals .

Grab a cup of coffee or tea or even cocoa and take a look at what Michael and Lisaa have made for November. You can find their cards at the links below -

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / October 2025

It's finally Fall - which means chilly temps, sweater weather AND things that go bump in the night !! Celeste and I decided to go with the fun, spooky time of year that October brings and celebrate Halloween .

I finally pulled out the Colorado Craft Company stamp set - Trick or Treating Cats. This set is no longer available, but they have many other fantastic Halloween designs

  • I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock .
  • The image was colored with my COPICS .
  • A Big and Little Chain Rectangle die was used to die-cut the stamped image .
  • I adhered a piece of patterned paper in Autumn colors to a dark grey card base.
  • Turquoise glitter was placed on the frilly border of the skirt.

I'm hoping we get lots of trick-or-treaters this year. A family down the street from us always coordinates their costumes. One year they were all Star Wars characters - with Baby Yoda being pushed in a stroller . It was so cute !!!  I'm drinking some Apple Cider Donut coffee from a cup given to me by a friend. The coffee definitely is delicious on a chilly Autumn morning ..

Take a look at Celeste's Halloween card over at her blog - Crafting Junky . I know she has created something fabulous! We will be back next month with more Coffee & Cards. Until then, stay creative AND always drink good coffee ..

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / September 2025

This month, Celeste had the great idea to use up some of our scraps . I used to keep two whole  drawers full of paper scraps - 1 for solid colors and another for patterned paper. But I decided to consolidate and just keep one drawer, which narrowed down my selection for today. I did find some great pieces of scrap paper though and made a great background for my card .

Celeste's Scrap Stash

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the scraps I chose so I just placed them on a card base and hoped I would come up with an idea !! I decided to look through some Close To My Heart stamp sets and found one that I thought would work with my background. Here are the scraps that I used , All I did was trim them down to get several lengths and attached them to a navy card base.

And here is my finished card ..

  • The stamp set is I'd Rather Be Reading from Close To My Heart  (which unfortunately has closed ).
  • I stamped the shelf and sentiment on cream cardstock . I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the shelf and the matching die to cut the shelf .
  • The sentiment was stamped with Impression Obsession Ruby  ink .
  • The shelf was colored with Copics and Sharpies.
  • I adhered the shelf to the scrap paper strips with foam tabs to add some dimension .
  • The sentiment was die-cut with a Big Little Chain Rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs .
  • I adhered the sentiment to the bottom right corner of the card base .

I am really happy with how this card turned out, especially since I had no idea what I was doing when I sat down to make it !! Do you ever grab some scarps from your stash and create with them ?? This was a fun theme !!  I can't wait to see what Celeste came up with . Take a look at her blog Crafting Junky to see her card ..

For my coffee this month, I chose McCafe'  Affogato .. It tastes like Vanilla soft serve ice cream and is absolutely delicious !!  My cup is a Starbucks Amsterdam mug brought back for me by a friend. It must have been International Day here because I'm reading a book set in Scotland from a Netherlands cup while drinking American coffee !!

Thank you for joining me today as I use up some scraps . I hope Celeste and I have inspired you to take a look in your stash and create something !! Until next time, I hope you will enjoy some creative time, drink some good coffee and read a good book .

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / June 2025

We are halfway through the year - can you believe that already ?!?! Christmas is only 6 months away . Lisa, Michael and I post our holiday cards every month on the 25th to inspire you to make some of your own. You will be ahead of the game when it comes time to put your holiday cards in the mail !!

And now it's confession time !! I totally forgot to make a card for today. I picked up an extra shift at the hospital and worked Sunday, Monday and Tuesday . Oops - completely slipped my mind. So today's card was quickly made this morning . I hope you like it !!

  • I stamped the "Winter Cuppa" image from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The image was colored with my COPICS.
  • I used a corner punch on the stamped panel.
  • Candy Dots in various colors were placed on each corner .
  • A red heart was adhered to the teapot.
  • Several white glittery gems were placed on the stamped image .
  • The completed stamped panel was placed on a striped card base by American Crafts with foam tabs.
  • To finish my card, I placed a heart in the enter of the teapot.

I'm very pleased with my quick card. I got the Winter Cuppa stamp on sale a few years ago. I think the company has closed or either rebranded itself.  Please take a look at Michael's and Lisa's creations at these links :

Thank you for stopping by to check out our cards for June. I am going to make my July card this weekend so I don't forget again !! Until then, Stay Creative !!

Coffee & Cards with Deb & Celeste / June 2025

For the month of June, we've chosen a fun theme. Everyone who knows me knows that I am an avid reader - a bookworm from way back. Even before I could read, I can remember sitting next to my dad on the couch with a book in my hands, while he read his latest book. We took weekly walks to the library that was only a few blocks away. And as I got older, books continued to fascinate me - I read everything I could get my hands on. My library card was a prized possession.  I'm still in love with books and although a physical book is still my favorite, I do have several e-readers full of thousands of books/samples.  Books/Reading is our theme for June. I hope you enjoy what we have made as much as we have enjoyed making them !!

For my card today I pulled out a never-used stamp set by Ellen Hutson . Although she has since retired, she has placed some of their fabulous products on Amazon . I used the stamp/die set Bookworm Lady from their Leading Ladies series .

  • I stamped all the elements on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink  - the bookworm lady, book, bookstack, bookmark and cup.
  • The matching dies were used to die-cut the images.
  • I colored the images with a variety of markers, OLO, COPOC, Tombow.
  • The background papers are from the CraftSmith "Book Club " paper pad.
  • I adhered the word background paper to a pink card base.
  • The book shelf border at the top was cut from another piece of Book Club paper  and adhered at the top of the card .
  • The sentiment is a piece of a bookmark that I cut and adhered to the card .

If I must say so myself, I love this card !!  And I can't wait to see what Celeste has made using our theme.. Go to her blog - Crafting Junky - to check out her card . For my coffee this month,  I am having Cafe Bustelo Dulce le Leche . I found the K-cups at Target on sale and just had to try them . Believe me when I say that the coffee is delicious !! And in keeping with our theme, I am using a fabulous cup given to me by a good friend for my birthday a few years ago .

Thank you for stopping by to see our June creations. We are having a heat wave here and temps will be in the 90's all next week ( with heat indexes over 100 ) .. I think next month I will be drinking iced coffee !! Until then, stay creative AND cool. And drink some good coffee ..

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / July 2024

Here we are in July, posting our Crafty Elf cards !! Michael Trent is once again joining us to bring you some holiday inspiration .. Our weather has been brutal here but certainly not as bad as other areas of the country. As I made my card, I thought of cooler temperatures, hot cocoa with whipped cream and holiday snail mail.

For my slimline card today, I chose a sweet design from Stampendous - Mini Holiday Wheels  . It even has our sweet cat Pixie looking out the window as we drive off on an adventure.

It's the most wonderful tie of the year

  • I stamped the Mini Holiday Wheels stamp on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with my COPICS .
  • I trimmed the stamped image and then matted it with bright green cardstock.
  • The plaid patterned paper was adhered to a Kraft card base.
  • I adhered the completed stamped panel to the plaid paper.
  • A Tim Holtz Idea-Ology sentiment was placed above the stamped image.
  • A dark red glitter candy dot was placed on either side of the sentiment.
  • Small colored pearls were placed on the wreath.

I'm so glad that Michael has joined us today. He always creates such fabulous cards and I'm sure today will be no exception. You can follow the links below to see what he and Lisa have made to inspire us.

There are now only 5 months until Christmas !! Have you started your holiday cards ?? It's a good feeling to have a nice stash when the time comes to start on your Christmas card list ..  I look forward to seeing you again next month ..

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / May 2024

It's hard to believe we are almost halfway through the year !! This month Lisa and I are being joined by our former Crafty Elf teammate, Michael Trent !! We are happy to have him back for May and can't wait to see what he's come up with ..

For my cards this month, I used 2 stamp sets by Julie Nutting for Prima Marketing Inc. - Merry Nice and Warm Wishes . These are older stamp sets from 2014 but can still be found on Etsy and eBay.

  • I stamped the Warm Wishes Prima girl on  2  pieces of white cardstock and then stamped the holly leaf next to each girl , using Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The girls and holly were colored with my COPICS.
  • Using Memento Lady Bug and Cottage Ivy inks ,I stamped the sentiments.
  • Naughty or Nice was stamped on a piece of white cardstock and then die-cut with a Pierced Chain Round Die.
  • Happy Winter was stamped on a piece of tan patterned paper and then die-cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • The scallop borders were die-cut from a Basic  Grey 25th and Pine paper pad that I have been hoarding since 2013. I used a Tim Holtz Alterations  Scallops  die from Sizzix .
  • I adhered a scalloped border to the top of each stamped panel . The die  makes 2 borders - 1 with holes punched across the border and 1 without .
  •  I adhered the sentiments to each panel with foam tabs.
  • Naughty or Nice was adhered to a Kraft card base and Happy Winter to a white card base.

I have many of these Prima girls and will be inking more of them up soon !! I hope they inspire you to get started on a few holiday cards .. For more creativity, take a look at Michael's and Lisa's cards at these links -

Thanks so much for stopping by . And a BIG thank-you to Michael for joining us, We will see you next month as we reach the halfway mark to Christmas 2024 !!

Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / May 2024

Spring is finally here and what better theme for my May collaboration with Celeste !! It is a bit rainy here today but Brian just planted some items in the garden and is happy for the wet weather today ..  Our Spring inspiration photo is beautiful and I hope it inspires you too ..

You do not just wake up and become the butterfly -
Growth is a process

I loved this stamp from the minute I saw it !! This beautiful image is  Sapling Tales from Aall & Create .. A stack of books with some lovely flowers - perfect for my post today !!

  • I stamped the image on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • It was colored with my COPICS and Flair pens.
  • I die cut the image with a Double Stitched Rectangle Die.
  • A piece of vintage-looking floral paper from  the Pretty Things collection by My Mind's Eye was adhered to a Kraft card base.
  • I matted the completed stamped panel with a pale pink cardstock.
  • The panel was adhered to the floral paper with foam tabs.

I love the message on this card - Choose Joy .Sometimes in the midst of turmoil in your life, it's hard to remember to be grateful and happy. Today I am  grateful for my friendship with Celeste and our mutual love of coffee and cards . We are both choosing JOY today. Check out her card over at her blog - Crafting Junky . I know it will be as beautiful as all her other cards ..

My coffee today is Vanilla Skyline from Brooklyn Bean Roastery . I made iced coffee and have it in my new cold cup from Starbucks. I had enough points on my Starbucks card to get this cup for free and couldn't resist it . It obviously has our sweet cat Pixie on it !! The design is by Chinese artist Monyee Chau . Don't you love it ?!?!?!

Thank you for stopping by my post today . Please check out Celeste's also. We will be back next month with more coffee, cards and inspiration for you !!

Until next time -

Coffee and Cards with Deb & Celeste / April 2024

Celeste and I are back with our Coffee & Cards blog collaboration for April . Every month  we choose a theme and make a card . We both love coffee so we also talk about what coffee we are drinking or cute new cup we are using !!  This month we chose to create with stamps from one of our favorite companies - Unity Stamp Company . I have so many of their wonderful stamps and this gave me the chance to finally ink up a set  that I have had for awhile.

Remember Me is a fabulous stamp set !! The woman with the suitcase is easily colored and fussy-cut and there are also 5 sentiments included. The sentiments are appropriate for a variety of cards - travel, encouragement, thinking of you .

  • I stamped the woman with the suitcase on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .
  • The sentiment was stamped next to the woman with Memento Teal Zeal ink .
  • I colored the woman with my COPIC markers .
  • The DCWV Postcards paper pad was perfect for this stamp set . I adhered a piece of postal paper to a Kraft card base and also cut out and paper-punched some of the stamp images for this card . I used a fun postage stamp punch .
  • The stamped panel was adhered to a piece of turquoise cardstock and then adhered to the Kraft card base.
  • I placed the 4 "postage stamps" on the stamped panel with foam tabs .

I loved this stamp set so much that I made 2 cards for this post. For my second card, I fussy-cut the woman and used a Tim Holtz Chipboard Quote .

I can't wait to see what Celeste has made. And especially which Unity stamp she has chosen to create with !! Take a look at her card over at her blog at this link - Crafting Junky . This month I am drinking Iced Pecan Praline coffee  - and I'm using a new Java Sox "Coffee Break" coffee sleeve . These sleeves keep your drinks cold and your hand and table dry .  I have a few of these and also like to give them as gifts !!

Thank you for visiting and looking at our latest creations !! We love coming up with new themes to challenge us and it's always fun to see how different or similar our cards are !! I already have several ideas for the next few months . Until then, Stay Creative.

My card  was made with the DEC 25 Bird by Stampendous . I bought this stamp with a few other Stampendous holiday images last year and forgot I had them .. Sound familiar ?!?!

  • I stamped most of the Dec 25 Bird image on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink . The sentiment was stamped with Catherine Pooler Skylight ink .
  • The image was colored with my COPICS.
  • I used a Clear Wink of Stella marker to highlight the 25, hat and red breast.
  • The completed stamped image was trimmed with the Tim Holtz Tonic Deckle Torn Edge Trimmer.
  • Rhinestones were placed on the hat pom-pom and the bird's eye.
  • I adhered the panel to a black card base.

Crafty Elves' Countdown to Christmas / March 2024

Spring is in the air and the Crafty Elves are back with their March cards. We create holiday cards every month and post them on the 25th - giving you some inspiration to start on your  own stash . This month, Michael  Trent is back for a visit . He joined us as a Crafty Elf in January 2020 but recently stepped away . Luckily for us though, he's back as our Guest Elf for March.

For my card this month, I used a sweet set from Art Impressions - Sledding Window Set . These stamps can also be used with their Shadowbox Window Die  I have many of their Window stamps and absolutely love them !! Several of these sets now also come with a matching accent stamp/die.

  • I stamped the window & snowman images on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink .
  • The window image was die cut with a Stitched Square die and the snowman was cut with the matching die that came with the stamp set .
  • I colored the images with COPICS.
  • I cut a piece of Sizzix "Winter Greetings" paper and adhered it to a Kraft card base.
  • The completed window was adhered to the patterned paper with foam tabs.
  • I used 2 foam tabs to adhere the Sledding Snowman to the window for some extra dimension .

I hope you will take a look at the cards from Lisa and Michael .

Thanks to Michael for joining us this month . It's just like old times !! I hope you are having some Spring temperatures where you are and if not, stay warm, grab a cup of coffee and do some stamping  !!   We will be back next month with more inspiration. I'd love to know if you've started your holiday stash yet .. Until next time.
