Pink Lips are sexy! I finally realized it!

Hello lovelies! Sorry for being M.I.A. I was literally busy with personal matters, and work. But this won't happen again, I promise. I have managed to do a little schedule for myself so I will have time for everything and anything! I hope I didn't miss a lot...but I know I have tons of reading to do. ^_~

Alright...lets get back to blogging! :) I am sure some of you have tried MAC Girl About Town. It's a vibrant fuchsia color that complements any skin tone. I have seen it a lot on celebrities such as Katy Perry and Rihanna, and the color looks beautiful on them. Well, to be honest, at first I thought the color was quite scary. Ha! Ha! I bought it almost 2 months ago, but I let it sit in my drawer because I thought Girl About Town was too bright for me. I was afraid I couldn't pull it off. Then 2 nights ago, I had to attend a friend's birthday party and I wanted to wear something different than my everyday nude color lipstick. So, I finally gave this lipstick a try..... and you know what? I am totally in love with the color!! I think the color is perfect!!! Bright and beautiful! ^_^

MAC Girl About Town

Isn't the color gorgeous?!

And this is me at a friend's birthday party, with a simple winged-out eyeliner and a Girl About Town on my lips!

Sorry for the Asian V Sign ^_~

Overall, I think MAC Girl About Town is just vibrant, beautiful, and playful. I should have never let it sit in my vanity drawer for months! LOL. I am planning to buy more pink lipsticks after this!

MAC Fluidline Gel Liner vs. Sephora Waterproof Smokey Cream Liner.

I love wearing eyeliner, and I have been wearing it since my early teenage years. Most of my eyeliners are pencils but, I prefer to use a gel liner when I want that dramatic intense look.

Gel and pencils eyeliners are so different so for someone who loves eyeliners, she has to try everything there is in the market. I have MAC Fluidline (which of course every girl I know has it), and Sephora gel liner that I bought not too long ago and quite frankly I don't see any difference at all. I have been using MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack for years and I just want to give another brand a shot you know. I thought this Sephora brand would be a great replacement.Of course it's cheaper too.

And just so you know, I went from Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Black Ink ($21) to MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack ($15) to Sephora Waterproof Smokey Cream Liner in Must Have ($10). Am I downgrading? Not really. I just love trying different brands. At the end of the day, if I liked something, I'd keep it! Just like a relationship. :)

MAC Fluidline Blacktrack (left) and Sephora Must Have (right)

What I look for in a gel liner:
  • Silky/Soft Finish
  • Water Resistant
  • Long Wearing
  • Does not smear
  • Smudge-Proof
  • Matte Black
  • Intense Color
  • Not overpriced! And not cheap either!

Based on my experience, MAC Fluidline and Sephora Waterproof Smokey Cream Liner (wow long name!) are about the same except the "smudge-proof" part. MAC IS smudge-proof while Sephora is not. With $5 more, you can get that with MAC. However, Sephora gel liner is so long wearing that it stays on my eyelid from 8 a.m until 12 midnight. I am happy with both even though Sephora is NOT smudge-proof. But hey, as long as I don't rub my eyes with my fingers, that eyeliner will still be there until I remove it. But if you are the type that rub your eyes constantly or want some kind of assurance, I suggest you get MAC Fluidline. :)

Well, this is me wearing Sephora Cream Liner in Must Have. I took this picture for my InstaGram album about 2 days ago? I didn't wear anything else except Sephora Must Have.

PS:- If you have an InstaGram app., add me up! :) User Name: msRinz

So MAC Fluidline or Sephora Cream Liner?
Well, the choice is yours darling!
I don't really care as long as it stays!

LOTD with New Favorite Lipstick and Lipgloss : MAC SNOB and VIVA GLAM GAGA 2

Happy Sunday!

I am just letting you guys know that I am loving these 2 lip products at the moment!

MAC lipstick: SNOB and MAC lipglass: VIVA GLAM GAGA 2

So here are the swatches:

MAC Lipstick: SNOB

MAC Lipglass: VIVA GLAM GAGA 2

So far, I really love these 2 colors and I have been wearing them a lot lately. I love SNOB because the mauve color is so bright!:) The more color you add, the intense it gets. I think it's perfect for summer night when you are out on a date. I also bought myself the latest Viva Glam lipglass, the Viva Glam Gaga 2, which is a light sandy neutral color if I want to have nude or natural lips. I normally wear this during the day with almost no eye makeup on, or at night with smokey bold eye look. I remember the last lipglass I bought from Viva Glam collection was the VIVA Glam V and that was back in 2005! The color was very pretty and at that time MAC had Pamela Anderson as their MAC AIDS Fund spokesperson. Hmmm, I wonder if MAC still sell it. Well, maybe not since it's been years! They only have lipsticks now, except for this Gaga 2 lipsglass. Anyway, I love this lipglass color, and hopefully it doesn't get discontinued.

So..... which VIVA Glam # do you like the most? I am sure everyone has at least one favorite! Do share!

A Comparison: MAC Mineralize Satinfinish vs. MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

Today, I bought a MAC Mineralize Satinfinish foundation in NC42 (my shade) hoping it would be a great base for my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, but I am not liking it that much. I have reasons why....

The Packaging:

Pros: The pump bottle. It's easier to use.

Now, a comparison between my favorite Studio Fix Fluid and Mineralize Satinfinish:

Excuse my dry hand, just finished washing the dishes ;)

What can you see in the above picture?

Two totally different "finish", of course. I never read the description of Mineralize Satinfinish. I just went straight to the store and bought it. You know when you like something, you just tend to ignore all the labels and go for it? Just like dating! :)
And oh, Mineralize Satinfinish NC42 is darker than Studio Fix NC42.

What is MAC Mineralize Satinfinish?

"A fluid foundation that blends the natural light-reflecting properties of micro-minerals with a smooth satin finish. Provides a low-to-medium buildable coverage with a slightly luminous look. Contains antioxidants vitamins C and E. Provides everyday SPF 15 sun protection. Long-wearing. Suitable for normal-dry skins."

The description is perfect. It wasn't the product. It was me. The word "Mineral" made me buy this foundation. I never read the description in the first place. I bought this Mineralize Satinfinish simply because I love my Mineralize Skinfinish powder. I thought the "finish" would be similar, but those two items are not even comparable.
The Mineralize powder doesn't even have tiny particles that make me "glow". I felt like one of the Cullen clan when I had Mineralize Satinfinish foundation on my face. Ha! Ha! I hated it! I felt so..shiny, even after I set it with a powder. Oh well.

I wish the Mineralize Satinfinish were like Studio Fix foundation. Absorbs and disperses oil, with a natural matte finish. I really love Studio Fix. It gives me a perfect coverage. Mineralize Satinfinish is for normal-dry skin, and my skin is oily and acne prone. Of course it makes me even shinier as it provides moisture. Note: I hate oily T-Zone!

Mineralize Satinfinish foundation might be perfect for you if your skin is dry, and if you are looking for a sheen or dewy look. Also, this kind of finish is suitable for night events: club and party. I looked horrible in a natural sunlight. So unnatural. I don't like shiny or sparkly face unless I am Alice Cullen. ;) My foundation has to be matte-finish & oil absorbing...so I am returning this tomorrow.

New Purchase: NARS Orgasm Laguna Duo

Happy Saturday Lovelies,

I finally found NARS Orgasm Laguna Duo after weeks looking for it! Yes, it was sold out at Sephora Sherman Oaks, Glendale and Santa Monica. Luckily, I saw this Duo at Sephora Woodland Hills today so I grabbed and paid for it! Yay for me. They had only four left.  I was so happy. I should have bought from Sephora.com but, I'd rather walk into the store and play with those makeup!

Well, this is my third purchase. I love NARS Orgasm Laguna Duo. The colors are pretty and very natural even if you put a lot of "Orgasm" on your face. :)

"Nars' Orgasm Blush (subtly peachy-pink shimmer) and Laguna Bronzer (sheer light brown shimmer)"

On Sephora website, it says that this item is limited edition, but I've been buying this since 2008! Go figure. However, I was having a hard time finding it at stand alone Sephora store, so I guess it is a limited edition then.

Isn't this gorgeous?? I will keep on buying this!

Nars blushes are all pretty! I wish I could buy them all. I was also eyeing Nars Angelica and Laguna Duo set, but the hot pink color scares me a bit. I might go back and check if that color would suit my skin tone. I was in rush today, I did not get a chance to try. Oh well. Later then. :)

Happy Memorial Day to everyone. Be safe!

MAC False Lashes Review and Photos!

Alright ladies, I have finally gave this MAC Mascara a try! I was sticking to my YSL "Faux Cils"
for so long, and I refused to try any other brand; however, the name "false lashes" drew me to this mascara. I am not sure if any of you have tried this product by MAC, but I am going to share my experience. First of all, this mascara is huge. LOL. I don't really like the shape, and how it looks. I don't know..it's not as "smooth" as other mascaras, but hey, it's not that important as long as the product is great. Right? Like I mentioned earlier, I bought this mascara because of these 2 words: "False Lashes". So I thought to myself, maybe it would work wonder.. just like YSL, only with a better price.

So, hmmmmm...I am quite disappointed to tell you the truth. Well check out the pictures below, and you my lovelies..be the judge! Sorry, the lighting is bad, but you can still see the lashes. :)

MAC FALSE LASHES
I am not liking the packaging much.

Without mascara: My lashes are short!

Bad lighting at the club. Sorry, but you can still see the lashes! With 3 applications.

My Favorite Mascara, ever! YSL Faux Cils.

My conclusion: I should never buy a mascara based on its name! ;) Well, at least I tried MAC False Lashes.

Lipstick of The Day : MAC Blankety

Happy Monday!

I just want to share a swatch of MAC Blankety on my NC42 skin. :) I love this shade of pink, which I think is very subtle and wearable for everyday look. I've been using this color for months and this is my second tube! I think I am ready to move on and buy some other pink colors and if you guys have any suggestion, please let me know. :) It doesn't have to be only MAC, you know?

MAC purchase and Makeup Look for NYE

I bought these few items from MAC just for NYE celebration. :) I love every single product and I give 10/10 on each of them.

From left to right: Smolder eyeliner, Lipgelee in Bubble Lounge, Eyeshadow in Knight Divine and Special Reserve Highlight Powder in Chez Chez Lamé.

Review:

Special Reserve Highlight Powder in Chez Chez Lamé from Cham Pale collection:
This highlight powder gave me the sheen and the glow that I wanted. YAY! I used it as a highlight for my cheeks and forehead (see picture below). The best thing is that this product does not have glitter in it. It's not that I don't like glitter; I just wasn't looking to be glittery for the night. Even for my dress, I opted a black bandage type kind of dress. :). And yes, most girls in the club were wearing glittery shadows, and sequin dresses. It's new year's eve after all!

Lipgelee in Bubble Lounge from Cham Pale collection:
I am amazed that I never tried a lipgelee product before! This is better than a lipglass in my opinion because it doesn't feel sticky at all. :) A+! Bubble Lounge is somewhat pinkish+bronze with metallic finish. It also has shimmer in it. Well, I am sure it's quite popular because it is already sold out on Maccosmetics.com, and I was lucky to find it at a local store. Will definitely repurchase!

The rest of the products:

MAC Smolder eye liner: It is a must have for those who love the blackest black eyeliner.

MAC Knight Divine eye shadow: The color is so pretty. It's a gunmetal color with veluxe pearl finish. For my FOTD below, I used it as all over color and Carbon on the outer corner.

Well, I hope everyone had a great NYE celebration. :) I sure did. Will post some pictures later. :)
And oh, I also would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and I hope this 2011 will bring much happiness and success to all of you ladies. XOXO.

MAC and MARK

I wanted to give a MAC Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation/Loose a try so I bought one! Am I impressed by it? Hmmm, I like it but I am not crazy about it. Unlike Bare Minerals foundation, this does not provide a full coverage. It does a good job though, for a light to medium coverage. Plus the sponge applicator is kind of weird. Maybe it's just me who prefer to use a kabuki brush to apply a mineral foundation. Overall, it is good for a girl who's on the go since the cap has a sponge applicator attached to it.

Also, I got some No Place to Run eyeliners and a Get Bright highlighter from MARK cosmetics. I bought them through a co-worker, who is a MARK Rep. Something different is good sometimes, you know. :) So these eyeliners are supposed to be smudge-proof and last the whole day! Well, I tested them and they actually lasted for more than 10 hours!! The picture below was taken about 8 hours later. I smudged them like crazy but they were still on. :)

Anyway, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all! Enjoy your turkey dinner!

I finally bought MAC Venomous Villains!!

Yep,  I got MAC Venomous Villains! YAAYYYY! I was so busy lately that I did not get a chance to go shopping at all. So finally yesterday, I headed to Bloomingdale's, and played with the whole Venomous Villains sets. They had everything. Nothing was sold out. Unfortunately, I was only attracted to these two items, Innocence, Beware! lipstick and Darkly My Dear blush from Cruella De Vil set. Why?? Because I love, love, love, nude colors!! :) The rest of the sets (Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier) are in darker shades, and I don't think they are for me. To be honest, I am just scared of colors that are too bright or too dark. LOL :)

Here is the blush and the liptick!

FAKE? MAC Hello Kitty Collection.

Normally I can spot a fake item from far LOL ( I have that ability ;) ) but I wanted this limited edition so much that i didnt even care to look at the lipstick real closer. I grabbed and paid the third party seller. It's not her fault i know, but is this fake????? I think it is!
