A Fluttery Blog Hop

Flutterby Wednesday is back with everyone's favorite, an OPEN Challenge - just remember to use a butterfly or fairy on your creation!  To celebrate we are kicking things off with a Blog Hop featuring the new design team.  You should have arrived here from the ever talented Kristie's blog.  If not start at the Flutterby Wednesday blog so you don't miss any of the fluttery goodness!

For my card I have used an image by Saturated Canary called Butterfly Princess.  My coloring skills don't do this gorgeous image anywhere near justice, but she's still beautiful.  I love coloring in monochromatic neutral tones and adding a splash of color.  I used warm gray copic markers and R08 for the red bits.  If you look closely, you can see the sparkle on her hair, the red accents and even on the butterflies in the designer paper that I added with a clear spica glitter pen.  {grin - I love sparkle!}

Time to see what treat you'll find on Tara's blog next!

Thanks for fluttering by!

A Flutterby Hop with Bugaboo

It's time for the first Flutterby Wednesday Challenge of the New Year - Happy 2012, everyone! Thanks so much to all of you who played along in our December Challenge - we loved seeing your creations. {grin}  We want to welcome four new members to the Flutterby Design Team - Karen, Leanne, Lynette and Suzanne - you're going to be wow'd by their work!

And to start off the new year with some fun inspiration for you, the Flutterby Team has put together a little blog hop for you.  You should have arrived here from the FBW Blog {you really need to check it out because there's a prize this week!}

We're starting off the year with an OPEN challenge - just remember to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation.  {wink}  Our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and I used their gorgeous Silhouette Butterfly on my card.  I couldn't resist printing it out in black and filling in all the details with bright colors.  I fussy cut it and pinched the wings a bit before taping it over another print of the butterfly on DP.  I totally {love} the dimension that creates!  And it might be hard to see in the photo - but I covered the white card base in dazzling diamonds glitter.  I totally {love} sparkle too!

Thanks for fluttering my way today ~ I'm always happy for your visits!  Now it's time to hop-a-long to Karen's blog and see what delightful creation she has for you today.  There's also a complete Hop List on the FBW Blog, should you get lost along the way.

Stamps: Silhouette Butterfly digi by Bugaboo Stamps
Ink: Printer
Paper: Neenah Solar White, GKD Black Onyx, Echo Park Be Mine DP

Fluttering into 2011

Welcome to my spot in the "Fluttering into 2011 Hop". The Flutterby Wednesday Challenge is back from our holiday break and you should have fluttered here from Jennie's blog. If not, you'll want to start at Flutterby Wednesday and take a peek at all the fluttery goodness there is to see along the way today! {wink} And we want to extend a warm welcome to the newest members of the Flutterby Team: Kristie, Anna, Peggy and Jennie!

This week's challenge is everyone's favorite, an OPEN one! Just remember to have your butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. My butterfly image today is from a new stamp that my parents gave me for Christmas. I've wanted to try bleaching an image for awhile now. I embossed the butterfly in black on brilliant blue cardstock and used a small paintbrush to "paint" it with bleach. I just love how the brilliant blue faded to an aqua color that matches baja breeze pretty well. And I painted it a little unevenly to vary the color a bit in the wings.

Now you have one more fluttery stop to make - that of our Flutterby leader herself -
Danni!

Stamps: Butterfly (unknown), Everyday Thanks by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Baja Breeze, Basic Black
Ink: Colorbox Pigment Black
Accessories: Lacey Circle Nestie, Circle Nesties, Cuttlebug Oriental Weave EF, Black EP, bleach, paint brush, Basic Grey Aqua Pearls

Hello Pinwheel!

Hello! {waving} Welcome to your first stop on Paper Makeup Stamps September Release Blog Hop! My card today features the Pinwheel image that complements the pinwheel-blowing Kat Fairy. I used the cuttlebug candy cane stripe embossing folder on the panels of colored paper. The "Hello!" sentiment is from this month's Little Moments set. For the pinwheel itself, I stamped and colored it three times so I could cut out and layer it for more dimension. Here is a close-up of that.

I added stickles to the green sections for some sparkle and outlined the entire pinwheel in yellow to help frame it on the card. I was so excited to find that tiny button in my collection to help finish off the center of it. {grin}

Here is your first letter towards your discount code for this month's release. We hope you'll join us tonight at the PMS forum for some fun games and chatter at our Release Party. There will be a couple challenges that you can play along with this week too. {yay!} And now it's time to hop to Andrea's blog and see what fantastic feat of Crafty Engineering she has for you today!

Danni's Birthday Blog Hop

Today is our fluttery leader's birthday - Happy Birthday Danni! The Flutterby Wednesday Design Team wanted to start her special day off with a Surprise Birthday Blog Hop. Danni is the biggest cheerleader for our team ~ always encouraging with a kind word. And she's a stamping dynamo ~ have you seen how many fabulous cards she posts on her blog every week? And I totally {heart} how she takes the time to explain anything new she tries on her creations which inspires me to try something new too! Thanks Danni for being a fun and caring leader - I love your Flutterby Wednesday Challenge and I'm so happy and honored to be part of your team. {mwah!}

Anyone who follows Danni's work knows that some of her favorite things are butterflies, the color pink and sparkle, so I made sure my birthday card for her has all three! {grin} The paper is from the DCWV Butterflies and Blossoms pack. The plaid one already has glittery stripes running through it. The polka dot one that I used for the butterfly die-cut is all edged with stickles, b/c the butterfly just had to sparkle too, KWIM?

Here is the rest of the line-up for Danni's Birthday Blog Hop. When you're finished hopping be sure to stop by the
birthday girl's blog too and wish her the happiest of birthdays.

Thanks for fluttering by and celebrating Danni's Birthday with us. And Danni, may all your dreams come true!

Baby Shower Blog Hop

Lisa McKinney is one of the Makeup Artists for Paper Makeup Stamps and she is expecting a baby boy - like any day now! Today the design team is throwing a {surprise} baby shower blog hop for Lisa - Hi Lisa! {waving}. You should have arrived here from Randee's blog. If not, you'll want to go to the PMS blog and start hopping with us from the beginning so you don't miss any of the fun cards today. {wink}

I could not resist using
Teddy for my card today. With my user name being {mybearybest}, this little boy fairy holding his teddy bear is just too perfect for my card for Lisa. I paired him with one of the sentiments from the new Cutie Critter Sayings set. I colored Teddy with my copic markers and added buttons to match the bear's eyes. The striped paper is from a DCWV All About Boys pack.

Now it's time to hop on over to
Maria's blog and see what baby shower surprises she has to show everyone. Congrats on being in the home stretch, Lisa - I'm looking forward to the announcement of your baby boy's safe arrival. {grin}

Blessings,

Caffinated Cropper Customer Blog Hop

Caffinated Cropper is having a customer blog hop today! You should have arrived here from Emily's blog. If not, you'll want to go back to the beginning and start at Caffinated Cropper. Be sure to leave comments at every stop along the way and then again back at Caffinated Cropper because one lucky person is going to win a mini kit just for commenting! Woo-hoo!

My card uses items from the Birds of a Feather kit. Melody (my favorite Paper Makeup Stamps fairy) and the sentiment "With a Smile and a Song" are stamps that come with it. I colored Melody with prismacolor pencils and baby oil to match this beautiful designer paper from the Birds of a Feather packet. Her wings, belt, shoes and music notes are all sparkly from a clear spica glitter pen, you just can't see it in my photo well. I used the nestie Labels Four to cut out Melody and a second of the same shape in the darker paper so that I could add accents with the same corner shape on my card. The music notes were made with a Cuttlebug die. The little flower was one of the many, many accessories that come in this fantastic kit! The saying is emobossed in white to make it stand out and add texture.

Here's a close-up of Melody. {grin}

Thanks for stopping by. Next your off to see what the talented Christi Thorsen has created for you!

Blessings,
