Wish Big

Alright......you have to check out Creatively Yours if you {LOVE} challenges and sketches as much as I do. Noella posts both card and layout sketches weekly for your creative enjoyment. This card was created from a sketch she posted on July 27, and it was so much fun to make. As you can see I went a little bling crazy on this one. I am going to send this card to a special friend for her birthday, which is coming up real soon. If you look closely, the Euphoria Designer paper by Basic Grey matches the Wish stamp set from Unity perfectly! AND....to top it off this Euphoria paper matches SU Pomegranate and Eggplant awesomely. Thanks for stopping by. HAPPY STAMPING!!
Paper: Basic Grey Euphoria (these papers are awesome....loaded with purple) SU Pomegranate, Eggplant and Whisper White.
Stamps: Unity Stamps- Wish

Anniversary {{LOVE}} Birds!!!

Since our anniversary is tomorrow, I decided to pull out the Verve Stamp set- Anniversary Birds! Arent they just so cute?? There was no way that I was making this a masculine card, my hubby is just going to have to deal with the pink on this one! I used SU Basic Black, Whisper White and Pixie Pink papers on this card. The birds are paper pieced with Basic Grey's Euphoria Paper. I used SU Pixie Pink and CertainlyCelery inks for the stamping. Stamps used: Verve- Anniversary Birds set and Feeling Groovy set. The following accessories were used: Martha Stewart Pink Gems, Kaisercraft Fozzy Felt (pink lace), scallop corner punch (Marvy) and Oval Nestabilities. I had a lot of fun making this card. I kinda obsessed over it, because it took me an uncharacteristically real long time to finish it. Before I knew it the clock says 11:15pm. Time flies when you're having fun. Thanks for stopping by. HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Seeing Stars!!

On Splitcoast this week, the tutorial was a "Joy Fold" Card. When I read the directions, I just had to make one, so here it is!! Im lovin this paper pack by American Crafts, its the Celebration series and is loaded with bright color schemes! The card base is Stampin UP (SU) Tempting Turquoise and the designer paper is the American Crafts Celebration series. I used Verve Stamps- "Seeing Stars" set. Inks used were SU Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery. Accessories: scallop corner punch (by Marvy) and Martha Stewart rhinestones. I really liked the quote in this stamp set and I thought the stars brought out the stars in the designer paper. Thanks for stopping by, have a splendid weekend!! HAPPY STAMPING!!

So Sketchy Project

Hello!! Here is my first Design Team project for So Sketchy. The sketch can be found on the So Sketchy blog. Please play along with us!! Ally posts new sketches quite regularly, and its fun to see what everyone comes up with. This card was particulary fun for me to make, as it was one of my first projects for the DT, and I was also able to use one of the Unity new release stamp sets, EcoChic. This card uses the following: SU Groovy Guava base layer, Basic Grey Designer Paper- Mellow, and SU Very Vanilla. I punched the "window" for the card with the Marvy Giga Oval Punch, and SU Groovy Guava stitched ribbon is tied on each end of the window. The bottom border of the card is punched with the Martha Stewart border punch Simple Scallop. The tree from the Unity EcoChic stamp set is colored in with Copic Markers and then the leaves were glazed with Glossy Accents. EcoChic was stamped in SU Celery ink and cut out with the SU Scallop Circle punch. I sponged the edges in celery ink around the scallop circle. We're off to Michigan tonight, for a fun week at our Aunt's!! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!

Gratitude and an Owly Card

Here is a gratitude card that I made for my wonderful Aunt, who takes great care of my daughter, anytime we need her. I wanted to express my sincere thanks for all that she does for us as well as our daughter. (She also got a goody bag with some Unity stamps!!) The inspiration for this card came from one of Ally's sketches on So Sketchy. This is the July Card Sketch. The card uses Colormates cardstock Ocean Blue for the base layer and SU Whisper white and Celery for the matted layers. I used American Crafts Designer paper as well. Stamps used: Unity Stamps- Floral Fantastical. Accessories: Word Window punch, Copics for coloring the images, and colored rhinestones.
The Owly card is inspired by Patter's project Thursday on the Unity forum on Splitcoast. I absolutely {{LOVE}} this card style. its very easy to make and I will definitely have to try it again. This card uses SU Celery paper, American Crafts Designer paper, and SU whisper white on the layering. Stamps used: Unity Stamps- Mix Up of Cuteness. Accessories: So Saffron ink is sponged around the edges of the WW top layer to bring out the yellow in the DSP. Colored rhinestones and green satin ribbon are also used. The Fiskars Threading Water border punch was used on the flap. Thanks for stopping by, Happy Stamping!!!

One Crazy Week......

WOW, I cant believe a week has flown by and I havent been able to post any projects... that's not to say I havent been busy at work creating!! Amanda's Birthday party was this past weekend and then she started dance camp on Monday, so its been hectic. I did, however, squeeze some time in to create these 2 cards.

I was in a purple mood last night, when I created this card. I got some Martha Stewart rhinestones at Wallyworld and wanted to try them out. I cant believe that Walmart carries the MS line....its totally awesome!!! The Unity Stamp set Bouquet of Blessings is one of my new favorite sets. Decorating the flower bouquets with the rhinestones was quite fun. For this card, I used the following: SU Lavender Lace and Lovely Lilac paper, Martha Stewart Playful Pink series designer paper, Unity Stamps: Bouquet of Blessings and Floral Fantastical, Lavendar grossgrain ribbon, rhinestones, circle punches, and paper piercer. The images are stamped in SU Vintage Violet ink and colored with Copics. This is an A2 size card.

The Hope card, I created tonight, while messing around with some brighter colors and some lace. This card uses SU Wild Wasabi, Pink Passion and Pumpkin Pie papers, American Crafts Celebration designer paper, Unity Stamps: Bouquet of Blessings and Floral Fantastical, black rhinestones, glossy accent on the vase, lace, and the threading water border punch. This card is also A2 size. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Scrappin' Again.....

Decided to do a little scrappin' tonight, as I have been doing a lot of cards lately. I had these photos from our trip to the Skylands Botanical Gardens on my desk, just waiting to be put on a page. The lilacs were screaming for purple paper, so this is what I came up with. This is a 12X12 page, and very simple to make. I lined the page on each side with photos, and made a scalloped border, which peeks out of each side. On the left side, I used SU Pale Plum paper and on the right side I used Basic Grey- Sugared Designer Paper. (There are little flowers on this paper that perfectly match the pale plum paper, and the lilacs theme) I used the following stamps on this page: Unity- Butterfly Beauty and Sentiments O' Simple. The journalling is done in white gel pen, with sentiments stamped in SU Vintage Violet ink. I then outlined the sentiments for detail. The butterflies are colored with copics and then glittered. I love the pictures on this page, it reminds me of what a great time we have whenever we go to the gardens. Its such a wonderful place, filled with color and wonderful fragrances. Its also where Eric and I met, when we first started working in the NJ State Park Service.....so there are many special memories each time we visit. Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stamping!!!

Just experimenting.........

Hello, I made this card last night, and just getting to upload it now!! I was playing around with some new papers and stamps, and came up with this design. Its a regular size A2 card.....and some brighter colors than I am used to working with. Im starting to experiment with colors a little more.....
It uses the following papers: SU Artichoke as the base, Basic Grey- Mellow Designer paper, SU Caribbean and Pumpkin for the scallop border. Then SU Caribbean, Pomegranate and Vanilla for the flower and its layers. I colored the flower with copics and used stickles for the dots on the petals. I used the crop-a-dile (or "alligator," as Amanda calls it) to place an extra large eylet in the center of the flower. I then placed a jewel brad inside the eyelet for some extra bling! The flower stamp is from Unity's set, Spring has Sprung and the Smile stamp is from Verve's set- All About You. I also placed an extra large eyelet on the bottom right corner of the card, with a glitter brad inside it. Thanks for stopping by, wishing everyone a splendid day! Happy Stamping!!

Someone Turned 3 Today!!!

SO........my little girl tuns 3 today, and I sit here wondering how 3 years flew by so fast?? Its truly an amazing journey, and so much fun, watching her grow into her own person. She is really starting to enjoy crafting with me, and she like to try out new things. This morning it was Stickles. She loves the sparkle from them. "mommy this glue has glitter in it." The picture below is her finished product. She is very pleased with her work. :)
Next, it was onto the Crop-A-Dile. And, it was so cute when she asked me to use it. "Mommy, can I use the Alligator?" I just had to giggle. So we punched some holes in some scrap paper and let her set some eyelets. It was lots of fun!! (Its a pretty neat tool!!)
Eric and I decided to let Amanda open a couple presents this morning too. You will see that she got a beading set. Her teachers at school told us how much she likes threading beads/noodles/etc onto string, so we thought this would be a good, fun activity for her. She was very excited and we sat down together an made a bracelet right away.
She also got two new movies for the collection. "Madagascar" and "Horton Hears a Who?" We put those away for later, since beading was so much fun this morning. Later on we'll probably go for a swim at the beach....then off to our Aunt's for pizza and cake!!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Happy Birthday America!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!! and Happy Birthday America!! These are some projects I have been working on over the past two nights. I am having lots of fun playing with new Verve sets that came in the mail the other day!! I have to say the long card isn't sitting good with me, I dont know what it is, but maybe its the color choices I used, Im just not super happy with it. I do LOVE the way the Verve stamps, stamp, however. The images are so crisp and clear and they hold ink very well, which is uncommon with clear stamps.
Here are the recipes for the cards:
"Thanks..." Paper: Blue Bayou, Pixie Pink, Vanilla, and DCWV Wild Asparagus DSP. Stamps: Verve: Thankful Blossoms, Accessories: Pink Satin ribbon, Martha Stewart Scallop Border Punch, Dimensionals, Glitter and the images are colored with Copics. (1 of the smaller flowers on each side are popped up on dimensionals). This card size is A2.
"Always look on the britght side..." Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Lavender Lace, Apricot Appeal, and Vanilla. Used Copics to color the images. Stamps: Verve: Petals and Stems and Fluttering By, Accessories: Glitter, ticket corner punch. This card size is 4X9, it would fit in a business size envelope.
"Happy Birthday America...." Paper: Real Red, Cool Caribbean, Brilliant Blue and Whisper White, Ink: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Stamps: Verve: Fluttering By, Hero Arts: Clear Design July, and Stampin Up: So Many Scallops, Accessories: glitter, white organza ribbon. Techniques: I faux stitched around the edges of the card with white gel pen. I used Splitcoast Color Combo 92 (CC92) which is to use Real Red, Cool Caribbean and Whisper White. I also used Poetic Artistry's Mojo Challenge #6 layout.
As I close tonight, I am joyous of the many freedoms we experience in this great nation, I am also thankful for the many servicemen and women who fight for those freedoms. We are truly blessed!!
Here is a little song my daughter taught me: (Sung to the tune of "Happy Birthday to You")
"Happy Birthday to you...
The Red White and Blue...
Stars and Stripes are forever...
America, we love you!!"
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!

Floral Fantastical is FANTASTICAL!!!

I got HAPPY Mail today!! When I got home from work there was 2 nice packages waiting on my front porch. One was from Verve, and I cant wait to use those stamps. Hopefully tomorrow. And, my other package was from Unity Stamps, from their new release party last wednesday. I had to dive into them tonight. I was like a kid in a candy store, I didnt know where to start. Its quite exciting getting new stamps AND having a few hours to create something at night. So, these two cards are what I came up with tonight. This card uses Unity's new release set called Floral Fantastical. This set is just fabulous-o! This vase grabbed my attention right away! The card base is Blue Bayou, with DCWV Old World Designer Papers as layers. The sentiment was stamped in Blue Bayou then glittered. I colored the image with Copics and posted it down with small silver brads. I also added glitter to the vase and to the flowers. And, I just had to add some ribbon bows to soften it up a bit. This stamp set is amazing, it has a bunch of sentiments and several floral stamps. I think this set even has a Sympathy sentiment as a Get Well sentiment, so you can pretty much use it for anything!!! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Cocktail Party!!

This has got to be one of the coolest stamp sets I have ever seen!! It is "Cocktail Party" by Unity Stamp Co. It was one of their new releases, on Wednesday's party night!! It has a lot of cute drinks stamps as well as some funny, and I mean FUNNY, ROTFL, sentiments. You can see "Hey, Let's Get Drunk!" on this card. For this card, I used Cameo Coral and Soft Sky Paper, love those two colors together!! I also used some of the My Minds Eye Wild Asparagus Designer papers. I used Nesties to emboss the oval then traced the line with a white gel pen to make it stand out a bit more. The sentiment, "is it 5 o'clock yet" is cut out and then outlined with glue pen and then glittered, for some sparkle. The wine bottle and glass are also glittered. I added a white ribbon bow at the last minute, as I felt it still needed something. I can tell right now, that I am going to get ALOT of use out of this stamp set. Its great, as well as Unity's other new releases. Check out their website.
Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stamping!!

Another Mojo Sketch!

Hello, this card was created and inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch over on Julee's Poetic Artistry blog. I have to say, I truly enjoy creating from these sketches each week. I especially enjoyed making this card today, because I was able to do it during the day! My wonderful daughter decided she would take a nap this afternoon.... for the first time in months. She seems to have outgrown the napping phase of life. (We have cousins in from Michigan, who have been playing and swimming with her contantly, the past few days, at our Aunt's house down the street. So, after breakfast we decided to come home for a little break, and give a nap a try.....and it worked!! Then, we were off to more playtime and family dinner get-together this evening. She is soundly sleeping now....Ahhhh) So, after I describe this card, I'm going to try to create one more. Yes, ambitious.....hopefully I will be able to get to it. :) The recipe for this card: Stamps: Stampin Up!- Always, Paper: SU Celery, Soft Sky and Thyme, as well as MME Wild Asparagus DSP. Accessories: GLITTER, SU photo corner punch, SU Scallop circle punch and SU cirlce (1 3/8") punch, White organza ribbon, Ink: SU Bashful Blue and Celery. So there it is.....thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stamping!!
